Palazzo Bembo Hotel

Having 3 TEENAGE KIDS can make it hard to find a room. BEMBO were able to provide us with a room with 3 single beds and a double room. The rooms were large and comfortable and very clean.They also had free ACCESS TO BBC AND CNN TV ,very important to teenagers.It is extremely easy to reach via public transport even with lots of luggage, literally 10 steps from the Rialto stop. We reserved the jr. suite for its view of the Grand Canal and it was absolutely fabulous. The room has two huge windows overlooking the Grand Canal and one window overlooking a side canal (which we kept closed because it is hard to see the view below and looks into another building). We spent lots of time just looking out at the sights and activity -- there are so many kinds of boats, water taxis, gondolas, all maneuvering at once but with such precision -- it is a fascinating city. An unexpected gem. Ask for the junior suite?/suite. It well worth whatever extra $ it might cost. We got bumped up because they were out of regular rooms - it was amazing. One way to describe it: literally spitting distance from the Grand Canal and a stone's throw from the Rialto Bridge. Breakfast was great. Excellent experience..

As you may know by now, this hotel is on 2 canals. The Grand Canal, which one room gets the view of, and the others that have the side canal view. All of the hotel is on one half of the 3rd story, which does have an elevator. However, you have to climb about 10 steps to get to that elevator. Three of us just returned from Italy and this was one of our favorite spots. The staff was extremely helpful and friendly, the premises were astounding and the breakfast buffet was just great. The view is incredible and the location couldn't be better. May not be the place to stay if you haven't packed light or have a bad back - be prepared to lug your luggage up and down a flight of stairs. I can't wait to return to Venice and I would definitely return to The Bembo but I'd pack much lighter!

My wife and I spent the summer in Europe a few years ago, and this was, by far, the best hotel we stayed in during the trip. Why we loved the Palazzo Bembo: 1) The rooms were immaculate. Location, location, location! I cannot emphasize enough what a perfect location Palazzo Bembo is. We found this hotel on Tripadvisor and although there were not a lot of reviews at this time, we decided to go for it and we are very happy we did. This place is a hidden gem! Where we stayed in Venice was as good as being in Venice itself. We had a view over the Grand Canal, a side canal, and the Rialto bridge. Waking up to this sight each morning was exquisite. Our room slept 4. I took pictures of my 2 sons just watching the gondeliers and the people outside. I could not get them to move away from the windows! We have recently returned from A 4 day stay in Venice, and I feel compelled to write A review because Venice exceeded all of our expectations. There is a myth, that Venice is smelly, overcrowded, and that tourists are fair game to be ripped off. We found exactly the opposite! Spent a week in Venice in March 2004. Palazzo Bembo was a great place to stay. It was conveniently located (less than a block from the Rialto bridge) right on the grand canal. This was a perfect location to get to anywhere in Venice (essentially in the middle) right next to a vaparetto stop. Since you walk everywhere we were very glad we picked this location to stay.
