Just about perfect
It is hard to find a really excellent hotel in Venice at a reasonable price, but this one is as good as you get. We had a "suite", which was absolutely huge. The room was very clean and breakfast was very good. The location is very much off of the beaten track, in a residential neigborhood, so it was extremely quiet. The front desk people could not do enough to help us. It is easy to get lost in Venice, but this hotel is close to the hospital; if you look up, there are signs pointing to the hospital everywhere, so finding your room... more
a little pricey but I think that was just Venice in general
Spent 2 nights at Locanda Lacorte this October. I thought it was a bit pricey at 150 Euro per night. I did find out at checkout that paying in cash was a 10% discount, so that was a pleasant surprise. It is a nice location, fairly assessible from the water bus (unless you are carrying a lot of baggage, in which case it is quite a walk). The room was small and clean but smelled a bit musty or moldy. That may be the way everything is in Venice considering the humidity there. The shower was incredibly small. The young lady during the day... more
Intimate retreat
We were looking for a quiet, central, clean, comfortable and traditional place to stay. We found this met all our requirements completely. Staff are friendly, speak English and don't laugh at your pronunciation when pracising your Italian! They do however, appreciate you using Italian 'pleasantries'. We did take advantage of a water taxi from the airport- if you can afford it, do it! When you come out of the customs hall you will see a booking desk for the water buses and water taxis. We booked there and walked down- which is about a 7... more
Well worth to be away from the hustle and bustle
We secured a rate of EU$110 and spent 2 nights at this wonderful property. It is quite a walk from St Mark's Square/Basilica/Shopping and the water but it was worth it. The main areas were packed with tourists. It took about 30 minutes brisk walk to get from the piazza to this hotel and in Venice, it is vital to walk everywhere as cars were not permitted in the areas near the canals. One can also hop on a gondola or a boat to get from place to place. This hotel was top notch. We love the breakfast room, tables in the garden (also for... more
Locanda La Corte - Off The Beaten Path - Quiet
Stayed in this gem that is about 10 minutes from the vaporetti stations but perfect locations, great gelatteria for our kids around the corner with small cups for 1 Euro. The courtyard is nice for breakfast, the gentleman who runs the establishment is very friendly and helpful. You will definitely ike this place!
Loved locanda La Corte!
Can't say anything negative about this place, only positive. From the beautifully decorated bedroom to public areas, breakfast and staff, our stay couldn't have been better. We stayed in a quad the last 3 days of March. The hotel and surrounding area is extremely quiet (except for chuch bells that go off at 3:30 and 5:30 am, yes 3:30 am! but you fall back to sleep quickly as its SOOOO Quiet the rest of the time) It's about a 15 minute walk to the touristy areas, but Venice is for walking and our best restaurants, shops and scenic views were... more
Wonderful hotel in a great area
A wonderful hotel. Right on a canal, our hotel room was huge. The room was decorated like 16th century Venice. Was very very quiet becuase our window faced the hotel's interior courtyard. We loved how the hotel was about a 15 minute walk from St. Mark's and the Rialto, felt like we could excape the rush. The staff was very helpful.
Charming place; pretty courtyard
Recently spent three nights at Locanda La Corte and were very pleased with our accommodations. Our room was a large suite with two canal-side windows. There was a nice reception area and the courtyard was absolutely charming. We appreciated the knee-high rubber boots the hotel had available for guests to borrow so we could experience the acqua alta without getting our feet soaked. The hotel is a renovated 16th century palazzo. The ceiling of our room had the original wood beams and we believe the speckled linoleum-like floors were the... more
Nice but be prepared to hike to get there!
Recently stayed at LoCanda La Corte properties & while I had made reservations with this particular property (Notturno)I was placed in another of their hotels a couple of courtyards away. The reservations were made along with other friends who ended up in yet another separate property run by LoCanda La Corte. While all of the LoCanda La Corte separate hotels were nice it would have been helpful to know in advance that we were not staying in the same hotel. The rooms were well decorated and a nice breakfast was served at each hotel in the... more
The Little Gem with the Courtyard
What a lovely place to stay in Venice - I'm surprised no one else has written a review. Location wise it's a little off from the central touristy area, but it's still very easy to walk everywhere, and the quieter parts of Venice tend to be the nicer parts anyway. Lovely reception area with very professional staff. Our room was accessed via the outdoor staircase in the courtyard which was really pretty (breakfast is taken in the courtyard), and the room itself and bathroom was clean and well maintained. A bit hard to find, but then so is... more
