Just returned from a 3 night stay at the 'Liassidi Palace' chosen for our wedding anniversary and will say that the building is picture postcard Venice (especially from the canal if approached by water-taxi) and it's location is also excellent for sight seeing. Rooms are... more

Have just spent two delightful nights at the Liassidi Palace. The hotel is enchanting and exceeded all our expectations. A real gem in the heart of Venice. As noted elsewhere, the staff are helpful and pleasant, the rooms spotless and the continental breakfast more than adequate. Would return in the future.
"Excellent, great location and a jacuzzi!"
from A TripAdvisor Member
We loved the Liassidi. Our room was immaculate and very unusual with the bed up in a loft. We enjoyed the extra towels, toiletries and especially the jacuzzi. The staff was pretty friendly. The location was excellent, just a five minute walk to the beautiful San Marco square where you can see the sites, take a gondola ride, catch a water bus, and shop. Avoid the "Trattoria Pizzeria da Roberto" near the hotel. The food is mediocre and the service is terrible.
The place to stay in Venice

We went to Venice in August, 2004 ( me, my husband and our 3 kids- ages 2,4 and 6) and stayed at the liassidi palace. Its a fantastic hotel in a fantastic city and I really cannot recommend it enough. From the train station we took the vaporetto to the San zacchria stop. The hotel is a nice 10 minutes walk( I can't imagine anyone can get lost). The hotel is beautiful located in a good central yet quieter part of Venice. We were greeted at the reception and shown immediately to suite, which was very luxurious and beyond anything we expected( we had a bedroom with a separte living with sofa bed for the kids). The hotel staff are very polite & helpful and arranged for us the complimentary boat trip to Murana which was very nice. Everything is an easy 5 or 10 minutes walk( Piazza San Marco, Rialto Bridge...etcx Breakfast is just O.K.(which is typical for Italy). If you want to enjoy Venice, stay at the Liassidi Palace which more Palace than a hotel.
Very nice stay

We stayed here 3 nights in early October. We had a suite on the corner overlooking a canal and street. The room was great. Clean, very spacious and quiet. We slept well. We had 3 windows and decent views. The bathroom was also very clean and nice. The courtyard is very nice and relaxing, like a retreat. The hotel is indeed a former palace and the sitting area on the second floor is great. Nicely decorated throughout. Breakfast was decent and the staff were great. Overall, a great stay and I would definitely recommend it.
Great hotel, great place

We stayed in Venice at the end of September and were very impressed by Liassidi Palace. The Palace is located centrally and you couldn't wish for more attentative and helpful front desk staff. The rooms are wonderful; big, clean and very livable. We would definitely recommend to stay at Liassidi Palace if you are lucky enough to go to Venice. Forgot to mention that Venice is a must see destination - fanstastic!
Marvellous in every way

As part of my Wife's 50th birthday treat to Venice, I booked this hotel based the reviews posted at this website. We arrived by Gondola stepping onto the hotel pier. From then until we left via the same pier 4 days later our stay at this rather special and spectualar hotel was truly marvellous. As a family of 5 where possible we book adjoining rooms. At the Liassidi, we stayed on the fourth floor in a family suite which had a single entrance and internal connecting door. Each of the very spacious double bedrooms were well appointed and had large bathrooms. A wide ranging continental breakfast was served in ground floor rooms looking out into the canal, a very pleasant start to the day. The hotel entrance also features an open air lounge where we enjoyed glasses of Pinot Grigio to the sounds of Vivaldi, absolutely wonderful and relaxing after a long day in Venice. If you really want to go to town then the suites are probably the best in town. Would we go back ? of course without doubt. Forget the Venetian in Las Vegas, try experience and enjoy the real thing.
Superb hotel with very high standards

We changed to this hotel after reading adverse reports on the one we originally booked, and were very glad we did. The location was superb - within easy walking distance of all the main attractions of Venice. The water taxi from the airport dropped us right at the front door so we didn't have to trail round with our luggage. Our room was quite small but had everything we needed, including a small fridge/minibar. The bed was large and very comfortable. The bathroom was spacious and spotlessly clean. It included a Jacuzzi bath (very welcome after walking around Venice all day!) and a good range of toiletries. There were 2 clean sets of towels and clean bed linen every day. The buffet breakfast was a standard continental breakfast, but there was plenty of choice and we certainly didn't go hungry! The staff were all very friendly and spoke good English. We would highly recommend the Liassidi Palace Hotel, which is a member of the Small Luxury Hotels of the World group.
One of the best!

We stayed here 4 nights in March of 2004. My wife and I can't say enough good things about this hotel. Venice was the last stop of our Italy trip and it was the most enjoyable....and the hotel was a big part of it. The staff was VERY friendly and the rooms were great. Clean and comfortable. The bathrooms were the best, with the jacuzzi tub helping us to relax after our days of touring the city. I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel to anyone going to Venice.
Excellent Hotel

We've been there this August and we loved the hotel and its location, near Plaza San Marco, but in a quite place. The buffet breakfast was good but not as good as we thought.
Don't miss this one!

The staff treated us with great care. They are friendly and professional and extremely helpful. We had trouble finding the hotel. We were the proto-typical tourists ambling around the back streets of Venice at 11pm at night coming up short each time we took a turn. When we finally found the hotel we were greeted respectively and shown to our room. It was on the 2nd floor overlooking the canal - sleek and mordern - very comfortable. One window had a balcony overlooking the canal w/ a regal, red cushion for leaning. The other window represented the religous theme of Italy - a footbrige and a picture of Mary on the building w/ fresh and dried roses. It was interesting to see the Venecian young pay homage to Mary as they walk over the foot bridge - blessing themselves and mouthing prayers. The hotel is as short walk from San Marco Square yet enough away and still there is a bit of activity w/ shops and cafes over the canal! We had a very good experience here and would return!!!!!

A lovely hotel tucked away from the main lagoon front not far from St Marks Square, although negotiating your way there is a skill. Canal side with access for arrival/departure by water taxi. Fabulous rooms with spa bath (a little small) and our room had a mirrored ceiling... more
