Kette Hotel

Just returned from our second stay at the Hotel Kette, and it was even nicer than the first. The staff welcomed us back and treated us royally for our entire visit. We have decided that from now on, we will end all of our European vacations with a stay at the Hotel Kette. It feels like home.

What a cute hotel. It has a lot of character. I really liked it. We had everything we needed. The staff was so good they even handed us our key as we were walking into the hotel before we asked for it. The rooms very clean and nice. Is on a quiet street that sometimes it was nice to get off of the main street and walk in the just off the main street path away from all the people. The location was great. We walked all the way up to the train station. What a beautiful city and people. Miss it already.

Just back from Venice. What a place it is fantastic. we booked the kette hotel on the reviews from this site. The hotel is in a fantastic location, very easy to find and in a quite area. The hotel is like a small boutique style premises, the staff are efficient and professional, our room was very small, I had requested a nice room as this was a special birthday surprise but no effort was made. There was air conditioning in the rooms. The buffet breakfast was very basic for a 4 star hotel . I don't want to come accross negative about this hotel if I was travelling again I would stay there as it is ideal for getting from a to b, and it is very clean. For a weekend break it is a great base. The city itself is such a marvel that your hotel will take second priority, Enjoy!

Our family had two adjoining rooms for three nights. The hotel had the charm of Venice in a very convenient location. The staff was helpful and arranged for a water taxi to take us to the train station (cost about 60 Euros). The breakfast buffet was excellent with good service. Rooms were a little small but tasteful and comfortable. Our rooms overlooked a canal. The bathrooms had recently been renovated and had hair dryers, 110 outlets and heated towel bars. We will stay at the hotel on our next trip to Venice.

We've just spent 4 nights at the KETTE. Lovely place, very clean with efficient staff, good buffet breakfast, but best get it early as the room can get crowded. We'd definitely stay here again.

Stayed here for 3 nights in Feb/March 2004. Excellent location right near St Marks Square. Very friendly helpful staff who spoke good english. Recently refurbished, good decor and good marble bathrooms. Very good buffet breakfast. Would highly recommend this hotel.

This is a great hotel - very clean. Don't let them talk you into taking their boat to Murano - it's all part of a high pressured sales pitch to buy glass! And trust me they get annoyed if you don't want to buy thier glass - we wasted about an hour and a half being brought through all differant rooms (the first had pieces over $10,000 - then they went lower until they brought us to the basement and said "everything in here is cheap - pick something"). When we refused they basically did everything but throw us out the door! But this is a great hotel and we are planning to stay here again next year!

This was the second time we stayed at the Kette. The last time, we'd booked through a travel company and ended up with a small but perfectly good room. Having heard it had been refurbished, we decided to stay there on our return visit in December and booked it ourselves online. This time we got an extremely big room (for a european city hotel) that was beautifully decorated. The only caveat was that they've now banned the guests from using the plug points for their own use, which made charging mobile phones or using my own hairdryer virtually impossible. The staff were as courteous as ever, and as the hotel was on the quiet side, the breakfast room was nice and quiet (at busier times, you could have to wait for a spare table). The location of this hotel is also excellent. Its close to St Marks square, but just far enough away to make it less touristy and less expensive. Its also close to Harry's Bar, if you fancy expensive cocktails, or La Fenice, which was just about to reopen in December.

My husband and I spent three lovely days at the Kette in January 2004. The hotel is well located (if a little hard to find at first), clean and well-decorated, staff friendly and helpful, bathrooms huge and well-appointed, and breakfast quite acceptable.
