Elite Hotel

We just returned from Italy and stayed at the Elite for 2 nights. We were pleasantly surprised by the hotel and will definitely stay there again should we fly into Venice. The hotel is only 10-15 min from the airport and is about the same distance by bus from the Piazzale Roma in Venice. The room was basic but clean and the bed was comfortable. Great clean with friendly staff. No. 12 bus 200 metres walk from hotel takes your directly to bus termini, with water taxis departing for everywhere and anywhere leave from there. Could buy 3 day travel ticket from hotel who explained directions clearly - no chance of getting lost while travelling into Venice Island. Good continental breakfast each morning. Very well worth the money and a lot cheaper than staying on Venice Island. Couldn't recommend this hotel enough.

Just recently stayed at Hotel Elite for one night while in Venice. Hotel is in a great location, ATVO bus from Marco Polo airport stops right outside of the Hotel (even though our driver did not want to stop to let us off with our luggage -- we made him do so on the return trip); the public transportation bus to get to Venice is a short walk from the hotel and only 1 Euro, which can be purchased at the Hotel's front desk. We visited Venice during a three nights stay just my partner and me early June 2006. We chose Hotel Elite for its stategic location and focus on modern athmosphere. We immediately loved it. Very unconventional reception, staff was extremely and sincerely nice and helpful. The various places in the hotel are small but very comfortable and cosy. Elite hotel was nice and clean and the hotel reception staff were very helpful, but just a bit lacking in certain areas. The bathroom was very modern but the toilet seat wasn't fitted properly so moved every time you sat on it, the sink taps also were not fitted correctly so moved everytime you used them and the air conditioning was chinese torture - it dripped constantly even when turned off and although reported nothing was done! Hotel was just outside Venice, only 10 minutes by bus which we thought added to the holiday experience. Cleanliness: Very clean. Had to change rooms 3 times!!! and hotel manager showed great displeasure in doing so! This hotel has such great potential - but is tottally shocking! 1st room change was because door would not lock... dead lock had been broken off (as if door had been pushed in by force at some point). After duty manager came up to check we werent 'crazy and couldn't lock a simple door', the hotel manager came up to see for himself. He said he would get 'someone to fix the door' within the next few hours... we wanted to go out and explore venice... more

Reasonable hotel, fairly convenient for the tourist visiting Venice if you don't mind waiting for a bus or ordering a taxi. Located on outskirts of town, a few minutes walk to nearest shops etc., but there is a nice Chinese restaurant right next door. We booked a small appartment since we have 3 children but were shocked to find that we would have to pay 40€ extra to have the electricity connected to the kitchen (they don't mention this on their website). I read many reviews about hotels in Venice and was totally confused. I really did not want to roll my suitcase on cobblestone streets so I decided to look at Mestre, Italy, the mainland before you get to Venice. Thank goodness I did. The Hotel Elite is in a very secure and nice area of Mestre. It is closer to the road to Venice than staying near the train station. The hotel reminded be of hotels in the US. We stayed here on Easter Monday, having been in Venice and Milan for the previous week, we wanted a hotel that would be the other side of Venice heading towards the Airport for a flight the following day. We thought the hotel would be a bit more remote, and certainly pretty glitzy. However, it is very near the centre of Mestre, but is a little more down-market than we expected.
