Okay for early/late flights
from SuzanneD_001
We stayed here for just one night because our flight into Venice arrived at 11 pm and we didn't want to try to find our way on to the island at that hour. The hotel isn't right next to the airport but it is only a shortish taxi ride away on the mainland, between the airport and Venice proper. I wouldn't recommend staying here as a substitute for a hotel on the island of Venice, but it is handy if you have to be at the airport early or are arriving late. Our room was a little dated but clean and spacious enough for us, with comfortable...

very disappointing!!!

We were advised by the website that all rooms had a bath and a balcony, after a long day travelling we looked forward to this to be presented by a tiny room with just enough room for a double bed.when we asked about our balcony and bath the receptionist was very frosty and said that we had got what we booked even though we presented her with our booking reference stating otherwise. The following morning we asked a friendlier receptionist about our booking who, after inspecting our paperwork reluctantly let us move into another room the same...

We are deeply sorry, but the client booked the doubleroom NOT in our web site, but throught a Travel Agent web site, and it wasn't updated with the right informations. The client had a room with a balcony as requested. We also offered a bigger room than a standard double as reserved, with bath tub and balcony, with a different rate... All the beds are brand new.. and for the television there is a remote control in every room...

The property is in a noisy area that is not really that convenient to Marco Polo airport. It has few amenities, small rooms, disfunctional air conditioning and vast amounts of deferred maintenance.
very nice stay

We have just returned from a weekend stay at the Hotel. Friendly staff, clean room ( bit small ) and good choice of breakfast. Decided to stay off the island as didnt fancy the stress of finding a hotel on Venice island. A very wise choice. Hotel was very accessable from both the island and the Airport. Bus stop outside the hotel. Would definately recommend and would use again.
Tiny room and expensive trip to airport
from pennybob
It is a good thing that my wife and I arrived at the hotel by rented car and driver. This place is in a very small, unattractive village about 4 miles from the Venice airport. It seemed like the middle of nowhere. Check in was fine. The room was tiny (didn't have room to open 2 suitcases at the same time) but clean. Breakfast was included but the buffet was mostly packaged pastries (still in the package). We were unable to fine a decent place to eat dinner. We did find a pizza place in a run down shopping area. We were told by the...

Dear Sir
We regret, but that you wrote is not complitely right, because we offered you the shuttle service, but our van was a little delay cause the traffic jam, so you asked for a cab because you did't want to wait .... We understand that rates for the taxi here in Venice are very expensive...

A wonderful little hotel...

We booked this hotel through Easyjet, assuming it was just going to be a relatively cheap base from which to explore Venice. We were wrong. We had got a brilliant deal through Easyjet, and in fact the hotel was much more luxurious than we had expected. It is quite small, but the rooms and bathrooms are very clean and nicely decorated, with linen changed daily/every other day. The staff are very helpful, and the breakfast, and dinner, if you choose to have it are excellent and good value. It is very close to the airport and bus routes not...

Great if your plane leaves Venice early
from moynishan
No, the Ducale is not in Venezia proper. But we stayed here on our last night in Venezia since our plane left Marco Polo at 6:15 AM. Due to that there are only private boats to get you out of the Grand Canal-area at that time of the morning, the transportation can be very $pendy! So we opted to stay at the Ducale on our last night. We got a good rate and the room was absolutely fine (very clean) as well as the staff. We had dinner in the hotel and the food was totally decent and not super expensive (which is great when you're winding...

Nice rooms, unfriendly staff
from bam377
I went to Hotel Ducale with a tour group from Germany. The hotel was in a run down area of town with nothing of interest around it. The hotel was very nice and modern. The room that I had was very spacious as well. Breakfast has a lot to be desired however. When I arrived to breakfast with a few of my friends, one of the staff members told us where to sit and that we could not sit together even though there were a number of tables available. The breakfast was made up of mostly packaged cookies and muffins. They did not have a very...

Good Value
from ChTruffles
Hotel is very well appointed. Great front desk staff, very helpful and accommodating. Room was comfortable with all the amenities – gave the impression of being larger than it actually was. Bathroom was bright, with lots of fluffy towels! There’s a proper restaurant in the hotel. Perfect place for me on my last night, when I was tired and ready to go home. They have a computer available to check your email or surf – first 10 minutes are free, cost was 5 Euros/hour after. Can’t comment on the food, as my flight left fairly...
