Diana Hotel

My mother and I stayed at this hotel in May 2005 for 1 night. It was a great location off San Marco square but a little hard to find. The rooms and bathrooms were big and clean. Our room faced the street but there were shutters that kept out the noise. The front desk clerk was nice and helpful in ordering us a water taxi for an early departure. The taxi pick up was a 5 minute walk from the hotel and we did not feel insecure walking to it at 4am (the $100.00 charge to the airport was another thing!). My Husband and I went visited Venice in November 2005. We were a little concerned at the 2 star rating of the hotel before we travelled. However, on arrival, the hotel was less than a minute away from St Marks Square, incredibly clean and friendly. We had a fantastic stay and would recommend this hotel to anyone who visits this beautiful city.

I have stayed in many European hotels,but this room was so small, you couldn't put your luggage anywhere! If they weren't on the bed, and you tried to put them on the floor, you couldn't get around them There was about 18 inches from the end of the bed to the wall.The shower was about 4' tall, so you had to stoop over to rinse. The staff was very impatient if you had any questions and didn't speak Italian. I paid extra for this room and it was terrible!

We stayed three nights at Comfort Hotel Diana in October 2005. Pros: Location is superb, just one minuet away from Saint Marco Place; room and bathroom were clean; breakfast was basic. When in a beautiful city like Venice, you do not want to spend hours in your room so why pay over the odds for one of the more glamourous hotels when the Diana has everything you need?! No it's not pretty, no it doesn't have spectacular views, but: The rooms are small but most importantly CLEAN, spotless in fact. The staff were friendly and very helpful. Just returned from our cruise where we stayed in Venice for 3 days before the cruise. Hotel was very comfortable and met our expectations..everything is expensive, but this was quite adequate for our needs, quiet, clean, good bed, modern conveniences, walking distance to all the sights and helpful hotel staff.

We stayed at the Hotel Diana for a long weekend, arriving on Fri. afternoon and departing Mon. evening. This hotel was perfect for our needs and we would recommend it and return there happily. This hotel has a rather unbelieveable location in the city about (literally) 1 minute from St. Marks square! Hence, you can walk to pretty much anything quickly from here and also it made a big difference to us to be able to run up to the room during the afternoon to use the toilet, drink some water, rest for 15 minutes, etc. before heading back... more

Our first trip to Venice, May 27 through May 29, 2005. The staff at the hotel made us feel very welcomed. We were told stories about small rooms and tiny bathrooms. Our room was smaller than what we are use to, but it was fine for the 2 of us and the bathroom was larger than some of the hotels we have stayed in the States. I stayed here before and after a cruise--selected by the TA --on price and location--it is about a block from San Marco--shopping area closer--taxi which we took to the ship--1/2 block--it was flat so we didn't need a porter for it--the rooms varied in size from small to medium with the usual amenities--the elevator a godsend--and didn't know all didn't have same--the continental breakfast simple but appreciated--served by a waitress--on pink tablecloths/napkins--not a standup affair--although it beats me what juice I drank--maybe very... more

Not knowing anything about Venice I booked this hotel simply because it had an elevator, as we were traveling with someone with knee problem. I was pleasantly surprised with it when we got there. Location: The hotels finest attribute is its location. This hotel is literally a 60 second walk to St. Marks. If you havent been to Venice, youre in for a treat.
