We live on island and went here just for a two night stay-thank goodness! The up sides are that the hotel looks very clean and well presented from the outside, this is also true of the reception area and the outdoor pools are lovely. However, that is where the good points... more

We had no complaints about this hotel. The rooms were very good (beds a trifle hard), dining room (buffet) very good. Three storeys, two lifts. Town centre about ten minutes walking away, or good bus service. Would recommend hiring a car (£200 for nine days). Weather can be variable in February but ours was quite good.

We were looking forward after a year of hard work to be able to have a lovely relaxing holiday. The only relaxing bit was the swimming pool which was great, as for the rest then forget it, the manners of the waiters at breakfast and dinner left a lot to be desired, one... more

LOCATION: well situated for most amenities both in town and all around the hotel. Just outside main centre so restaurant and bar prices lower and with a good selection to choose from. Short, level walk to shops and harbour etc. Don't waste money booking sea view - new build... more

My wife and I stayed at the Aloe from 24th Sept to 1st October. It is rates as a 4 star by Thomas Cook. We found the ground floor public areas to be 4 star but the bedroom was 3 star at best. The corridors and bedrooms were poorly lit. The beds are hard and the pillows... more

The Aloe Hotel was a clean and friendly hotel. The two rooms which our family stayed in were clean and to a normal standard. The hotels breakfast had a wide choice from a cooked English breakfast to fresh fruit and continental breakfast. There was always plenty of tables... more

Hotel no way near a 4 star hotel - best 2 star. Room smelt foisty (watch out room 185) air con poor - beds hard. Breakfast is poor and not worth the extra money. Get up early - you will queue for a table after 9am. Reserve your sunbed early - Pool bar staff reminded... more

The Aloe Hotel is one of the larger hotel complexes on the coastline that runs up to Paphos harbour. It boasts some 200 Nr. plus rooms (we’ll come back to that one). The hotel is great! It’s clean, and it has everything you could ask for. A lovely marbled floor air... more

We thought that it was fabulous
My partner and I literally can't believe some of the reviews for this hotel. Either we were very lucky or some people out there have mega-high standards. The Aloe Hotel was offered to us by our Libra Holidays Rep after we requested to be moved from our appalling, original apartment at the Basilica down by the Harbour. Because of this I don't know exactly how much our accommodation cost as it was a supplement to our original payment and was on a Full Board basis, but whatever it was it was worth it! The staff were very friendly... more
Lovely Hotel
We are a couple in our fifties and stayed at the Aloe Hotel from 15th to 22nd October 2006. We had read previous negative reviews and were quite worried about what to expect. We need not have been concerned - the hotel is lovely. The public areas are superb, the food was in abundance and was good by any mass catering standards. The staff were very efficient and extremely polite and friendly. The corridors and rooms were a little tired as far as decor is concerned but the furniture and fittings were in good order and spotlessly clean as... more
dont bother
stayed at the aloe hotel for 2 weeks 3rd october to the 17th2006. found the aloe very dissappointing certainly not 4 star. opted for half board which was a big mistake as the evening meals were not up to a good standard much better to go bb. plenty of good restaurants close by in particular the romantica which is next door. we went to cyprus for our daughters wedding and she stayed at the athena beach which is a proper 4 star hotel. at the aloe we found the lobby and public rooms ok but the corridors and bedrooms in serious need of... more
A Great Family Hotel
First family holiday with our 16 month old girl. Great Hotel, the rooms were cleaned everyday to a great standard and the towels were change too. Maids were always very friendly with a " good morning" welcome everyday. Breakfast was good. A great range of food which you can eat outside by the pool. Pool area was clean too and very safe for children. I noticed this as my 16 month old liked to crawl everywhere. There's a little play area at the back too with swings and slides if they do get bored with the pool. There's a... more
Absolutely Great!!!
Over 25 of us Stayed at the Aloe Hotel for my sisters wedding from the 17/09/2006-01/09/06. Before we went away i red the reviews on this website and was put off by nearly all of them,However asoon as i stepped foot into the reception area my worries had gone. The corridors were a little drabby but we didnt care, what do you expect when big heavy suitcases are hitting off the walls nearly every week. We wasnt there to stand and moan about corridors when the rest of the hotel was deffinately 4* !!! The rooms were lovely and the... more
Great Holiday
Some previous holidaymakers must have been very unlucky with their experience of this hotel as we thought it was lovely. We had a good-sized room with a very comfortable double bed. Staff were friendly and the food, although not the best we've ever tasted, was OK too. We had no trouble getting sunloungers by the hotel pool. Some days we wouldn't get to the pool until about 10am and would still have lots of choice of sunbeds. Even during the day, there were always some available. The freeform pool is really nice. We really... more
great hotel and staff
I think reading the previous reviews people have to get a life. The hotel was superb, including the staff, food and decor. The only thing I can say which is negativie is the charge of putting in your own drinks etc into the fridge. Overall fab holiday and hotel and what a bargain we got, as we found out people had paid double even treble what we paid, an overall bonus. Would definetely recommend this hotel!!!!!!!! Not a four star hotel
My husband and I stayed at the Aloe Hotel for one week at the start of July 2006. Reception area looks like a 5 star, so we were very impressed. As we arrived quite late, we asked about food and were told that we would have to leave the hotel to find some. We decided that we were too tired to go out so got a early night. In the morning while thumbing through the hotel information booklet we found out that we had infact been told an untruth and could have had room service! The corridors outside the room were more two star, paint... more
Grand entrance, shabby rooms
I stayed at the Aloe from 23 July to 6 Aug, when i entered the hotel I thought all the reviews I read had to be wrong. The entrance is very grand! Then reception gave us a lecture on the rules and regulations of the hotel - felt like I was back at school! Went to our room to find it very shabby for a 4 star hotel! We found during our stay that the room was very damp as well, clothes we had brought clean and fresh from home were always damp even without you wearing them. The pool area was really nice though, plenty of sun loungers -... more
No way a 4 star hotel... dirty with rude staff
The Aloe hotel was a big disappointment; the lobby is beautiful, but then I got to my shabby room which was filthy. The carpet was stained, ther bathroom had cracked tiles, rust and mildew, and damp stains on the cieling. I did ask to change rooms, but was told very rudely I couldn't. The staff were very rude and pushy; I was offered a complimentary drink I then had to pay for. The location and garden/pool area is nice though, and the food wasn't too bad. However, I'm not alone in saying this is in no way a 4 star hotel (2... more
