March 13th 2005. Just got back. This hotel is not as it is described. Not all rooms have a balconey. I had a very small twin room with my son. No view at all. Would have been terrible in the heat of summer. No hot american breakfast. Very basic contiential. No way is this a 3 star. Good location for venice that's about it. I'd certainly look elsewhere
Good very cheap quite hotel
from A TripAdvisor Member
Good points Very Cheap, Very quite which made for a good nights sleep, room service every day with new towels, breakfast included (continental), staff helpful and friendly, large beds, good powerful shower. Bad points Room smelt of smoke, the location, breakfast room small with a queue most mornings, shower flooded the bath room! Overall- for the price above average The good points outweigh the bad points, for the price the hotel is excellent you could be paying twice as much for much less in venice itself. There is a really good pizza place 10mins down the road that does pizzas for 5-6 Euros (double that for a meal in venice itself) The bus service is good so the location did matter that much. Can't see what people have to complained about really!
Ok but.....

Dont believe what the web-site says. No room service, no mini bar, no American breakfast. On the whole, clean comfortable and cheap. Fine for the budget traveller. Beware, don't order drinks from the bar we got ripped off 20 for 2 whiskies 2 grapas and a can of coke. This is no-way a 3* hotel. Dont be fooled.
Loved the Club Hotel
from Hawk63
The Club Hotel is clean and well managed with English speaking desk personnel who bend over backwards to make one's stay special. Breakfast is delicious and there's a restaurant a block away that is fine for late dinner if one doesn't eat in Venice. Bus to Venice near the front door runs every 10 mins or so and is only one Euro for the 15 minute ride. Only drawback, not a big one, is that the rooms are very small.
Nice, Clean, Budget traveller hotel

After reading reviews on this website, I was wishing id booked something else.But.............On arrival we were nicely welcomed & promtly given the keys. Room was quite small, but adequate for what we wanted. TV, has around 15 channels ranging from Italian TV, German, Swiss & CNN. Air-con is an extra that I think we had to pay for, but we didnt need it.We never had breakfast so I cant comment on the quality. The staff were friendly and offered advice on how to get to & from the hotel & which buses to catch. For info: From outside the hotel, bus to Venezia runs every 13 & 43 minutes past the hour. Bus back from Venezia (Pizzale Roma) to hotel, named Treviso runs every 25 & 55 minutes past the hour. This bus drops you outside the hotel, on the via Terraglio. The last bus is @ 20:55. Or you can get the bus number 2 which runs every 15 & 45 minutes past the hour from Pizzale Roma. Get off @ the hospital (Ospedale) and walk to the hotel, takes around 10-15 mins. The last bus is @ 23:45.Mestre itself is quite nice. Lots of shops, which I assume are cheaper than the ones in Venice itself. The outskirts towards Venice is industrial, but not near the hotel.I would definately recommend the hotel to the average traveller. Americans probably wouldnt like it cos you dont get the 'Full Treatment', but if your like me & only need somewhere to get your head down then this is the place.------------------- for more info.
I'd rather sleep rough...

Hotel smells, staff are very rude, the rooms are small, the lifts get stuck and buses stop running back to the hotel after 8:50 at night! Mestre is not a nice place to stay but if you do stay here, stay near the station where it is accessible to get into Venice and to the airport. I would advise against staying here.
A very pleasant and reasonably priced hotel
from A TripAdvisor Member
This is a quite pleasnt hotel offering very reasonable rates. The decor of the main vestibule and dining area were very pleasant. The room was more than adequate for a short stay though perhaps a little underlit. Breakfast was probably typical for the continent though a little unusual in it's makup. The staff were very pleasant and helpful. Bus stops directly outside the front door giving very cheap access to Venice. Mestre itself however is not the prettiest of towns and it's night life virtually untraceable with little choice of eating places.
Club Hotel, Venezia- Mestre

The hotel was average. Not a lot of ammenities. Hotel staff were average, breakfast was ok but breakfast staff were not very nice. I would not particularly recommend this hotel, even if you are trying to save money. There is a hotel next to it that you might want to try. Last thing, make sure you understand when they are trying to charge you for something that originally they said was free. Upon checkout make sure they show you a bill you are being charged for because they will try and charge you for something extra that you were not aware of.
DON'T stay here

The staff are very rude and unhelpful, the breakfast is terrible. AND... be careful not to get conned by the hotel telling you tea is free - complementary then charging you for it when you check out. Very Unprofessionaly run!
Nice Hotel 15 mins form Venice Island
from A TripAdvisor Member
Pleasant hotel. 15min bus ride from Venice Island, bus stop right outside hotel, though last bus back is around 9pm. Hotel was good value for money. The receptionist could not have been more friendly & helpful. The breakfast was a little strange for English tastes but the whole of Venice is like that. On the whole I would prefer to stay on Venice Island in future but I wouldn't be upset to return to the Club Hotel, it's pleasant. comfortable & good value for money.

Hotel Club is a fine- rooms are ok with air conditioning and fridge and staff are friendly. Only problem is that it is located in Mestre - about a 20 min bus ride from Venice. However, it is only 1 euro to travel into Venice and buses are regular. So if you are on a... more
