night before a cruise
from Elna
We stayed in this hotel for one night, just the night befote a Mediterranean cruise. It was in our Honeymoon trip. The hotel is too expensive taking into account its location in respect to the city center, the rooms and the fact that it has not nice decoration. It seemed not to have been remodeled lately. We had a small room with a private bathroom outside our room. Thank God that it was a shared-bathroom with other rooms!! I good point is that the bus stop station is just next to it so that you can take the airport buses and...

overbooked
from belgianvisitor
I stayed one night in Arlecchino and that was a very nice experience : close to the busstation, cosy room, clean bathroom, nice staff, pretty breakfastroom. But you have a big problem if there is an overbooking. I had a reservation, and arrived good in time. They just told me that it was highseason, that there was a problem and I have to move to hotel Nazionale. That means : taking the vaporetto, walking 20 minutes with luggage (no taxi's in Venice), and an awful hotel. Hotel Nazionale means : a single room not bigger than a closet,...

Nice small hotel, good location
from ahs4y
Nice little hotel, close to a lot of things (bus station, train station, water taxi) but then everything in Venice is close by! It was hell taking our suitcases from the train station (we can from Florence) to the hotel - if we were told the proper water taxi stop we would have saved some effort). But then everyone is doing it (have to cross 3 bridges to get to the hotel... if taken water taxi then only one). Note that the stop closest to the hotel is Piazzale Roma (which has a nice supermarket nearby). Anyways, the hotel staff was...

Lovely little hotel
from Tim&Katherine
This friendly hotel is within two minutes walk of the bus station (Transfer from airport costs 3€, on the Route 35 I think) and is one of the few places you can reach without an expensive water taxi. The hotel is small, but then in Venice there is not a lot of room to build extensions as the place would either sink or you'd get wet! The room was nicely furnished, with a comfy bed and a fab view out over the canal. The breakfast was typical of a continental European one - fresh breads and cold meats with good coffee and juices, which...

Better than expected, nice location, accomodating staff.
from adbracey
We arrived at 2100 after a three hour train ride from Florence. The gentleman on duty was welcoming and gracious and helped us find a place for a late dinner. That turned out to be good as well, even free apertifs since we used a few Italian words and phrases !! The room was small by American standards, but clean and quiet. The breakfast was wonderful if a bit understaffed. I don't undestand the negative reviews. I found that if you treat the staff with courtesy and respect, and try a few words in the local language, you are...

Best Service in Venice for the price
from A TripAdvisor Member
Hi, A friend and I stayed in this hotel while traveling Europe during spring break and we had an awesome time. There was a continental breakfast offered every morning which consiisted of fruit, ham, coffee/tea, ceral, italian pastries and croissants. It was probably the best breakfast during the trip(and we stayed at 5 other hotels during our holiday in other cities). The staff was extremely heplful and went out of their way to suit our needs. One morning we missed breakfast and the consierge made us cofee/tea, juice and fruit from the...

Great Little Hotel
from gurdo
Just returned back from a very short trip to Venice where we stayed 2 nights at the Hotel Arlecchino. Was a bit concerned having read some of the reviews here before going - but glad I booked this hotel. Location: Great location - we arrived at Venice Treviso Airport very late - jumped on a ATVO coach which took us to Piazzale Roma (approx 1hr). Got off the coach and we could see the hotel - 3 min walk away. The hotel is also very easy to reach from the Train Station (Santa Lucia) - 5 min walk. Hotel: Nice clean and very...

Terrible Staff

They screwed up our reservation made 12 people stay in 2 small rooms with NO extra blankets or towels. Staff was useless and incompetent. Even management Stefano Fiori offered no help, refund, just rude and idifferent. Terrible will never stay again!
More than adequate-IF you get to stay there having booked

I had booked well in advance for two single room for my Mother and I at the Alercchino from October 4th - 7th '05 . When we arrived to check in at 6pm we were told that they were full up and that we had to go to the Hotel Santa Andrea instead - Which is not a long way away , but , having not been to Venice before , it took us 50 mins to find . I shall be posting a separate review of the Santa Andrea - Cold , uncarpeted rooms , dark , as dead as a morgue , and a vile breakfast. Thankfully we were able to check in at the Alercchino...
