Very Impressed
After much debating on where to go with Flyglobespan we opted for Ibiza because of past reviews and i have to say that we were more than impressed, The hotel was lovely and clean, excellent rooms and the staff very helpful and friendly, there was a good choice of food. The down side if you could call it that was with the hotel only been open a week or and there was a strong smell of sewage and we had to keep a tap running at all times in the bathroom to get rid of the smell, we found out it had something to do with the drains outside, also the entertainment for the hotel guests was a bit limited and we found ourselves having to go out most nights as there wasn't much happening in the hotel. Having said that, it didn't put us off and we would definately return but maybe at a busier time when everything is up and running a bit more as it was still fairly quiet. Overall an excellent hotel "try it" you won't be disappointed. Wendy & Chris - Scotland
Spot On! Great Hotel!
I have just come back from a week staying at the Sirenis Coral Playa. I stayed at the hotel with my boyfriend and we were both very impressed. The rooms were immaculate and the air conditioning came in very handy. The pool area was lovely and the pool wasn't too cold which was good. The only gripe about the pool being the sun loungers which could become quite uncomfortable if you sat by the pool alot of the day, a bit of numb bum syndrome. The restaurant was nice and it was good that you were able to sit where you wanted rather than being allocated a table. The food was pretty much standard all inclusive food, although there was plenty to choose from, soup, salad, cold meat, cheese, 1 fish dish, 2 meat dishes, chips, another potato dish, veg and then usually a pasta or rice dish. The bar area was nice and again the air conditioning was a nice bonus. We do not really go on holiday for the hotel entertainment but from what we saw this wasn't bad, there was a parrot show, an Abba tribute and other singers. The hotel is in a great location just on the edge of the resort with a supermarket and papershop just over the road. The resort centre is a 5-10 minute walk but is a nice walk if you walk alongside the beach. The resort itself is relatively small but has everything you need - good selection of shops, bars and restaurants - and is very good for families (lots of childrens rides etc). The weekly hippy market which is an attraction of the island is about a 20-30 minute walk away, but be warned it is absolutely packed and this makes it feel twice as hot when you're there, also be warned of people telling you of items being sold as handmade, this isn't always the case. All in all a fantastic holiday with a hotel in a great location. Would definitely go back and would recommend to others!
Would still go back ....
We stayed at the Coral Play for our fourth time this June. Two famillies go with children between the ages of 6 - 10. I book the hotel direct via email and despite there being a new Manager this year he was extremely helpful and treated us like he'd known us for years. The reception staff were as helpful as always. The rooms have been updated since our last stay with nice decor, tv, air con and hairdryers in the bathroom. They are cleaned every day with fresh towels. There was a good choice of food for both adults and children as in previous years and again the dining room was spotless. It was nice to see the friendly bar staff who have been there for years and who are always very welcoming. The only disapointment this year was the entertainment. Whilst in previous years there has been children's discos, followed by bingo then a first class show (sometimes with a children's show beforehand), this year you felt lucky if the bingo was on !! When you're all inclusive you tend to stay in of an evening so good entertainment is a must and I think is one of the main reasons the Coral Playa has had guests back year after year. Needless to say I think guests will continue to return to the Coral Playa year after year, as will we.
Dissapointing Hotel Entertainment
We had a family holiday for three this year in June, we took my 9 year old daughter. After staying in the Sirenis Club Playa at Cala Longa we were very confident to book this sister hotel with ease, ecpecially after reading the reviews. The hotel was spotless in a beautiful location near the beach and amenities in Es-cana. However, we were very dissapointed that the entertainment did not start till 10.00pm in the evening which meant we were all sitting around bored. The bar only served all inclusive till 11pm which meant there was not a lot ot time to drink and they did rush us out at 12pm. The food, was also dissapointing, we choose to eat out a few times as my daughter was mainly living on chips and she is not a fussy eater. The Hotel was run by Cosmos unitil this year and people had returned expecting the same fantastic entertainment and food they had experienced over the past 5 years. They also were very dissappointed at how everything had changed and moaned every day. The pool was brill for the kids and the rooms and hotel itself was kept immaculate, however we would not choose to return because of the lack of entertainment and service at the bar.
Management response from DanielF 17 Jul 2006

Greetings, I´m very sorry to hear this from guests that have been so loyal to our chain in the last years. We try to do our outmost to produce a quality experience and distance ourselves from the generic mass processing Hotel we have around here. Return guests are an important part of our chain and we do really try to live up to their expectations aswell as gain new loyal customers who know the difference we offer. Regarding the given complains I will try to dissect them as they go. Entretainment, we did in fact have some problems with the resident animation team during the month of June. Problems that I would hope are by now resolved. Shows starting at 10PM. I have worked in several of the chain´s Hotels in the last years and all of them have their shows starting at this time so I do not really know what times these guests have enjoyed in the past elsewhere. This is completely standard and nothing we brought here this season. Most guests like this hour through our guest check-out questionaires we go through weekly. Bear in mind that dinner ends at 9:30PM and there is no point in agravating those who enjoy their dinner because others have finished at 7:30PM. We do have to compromise and follow a logic sequence of events or face even greater complains from others. Different nationalities have different dining habits regarding time and they have to be taken into account too. All inclusive ends at 11PM. This is standard practice throughout the chain too and I would dare to say through most all inclusive establishments on the island. Why is this suddenly an agravation? Guest get rushed out at midnight. The bar closes the earliest at 1AM so I´m a bit lost as to what actually happened there. This is a business after all and why would we throw out paying guests? Makes no sense to me moreso when the bar has a standard working shift till that time. Bad food. Of course I am no one to say what is "good" or "bad" for each one´s personal taste but we still provide an ample buffete of choices. A buffete I personally have breakfast, lunch and dinner too. Sure there might be a day you might not find something to your taste but that would not make the whole vacation experience bad I would think. We do have a two week rotating menu with every day a choice in fish, pork and beef dishes plus salads and side plates. In any case our questionaires do not show a bad experience in this area either. I´m really sorry we could not have lived up to these guests expectations in this department. Cosmos? Cosmos last year here was three years ago not last year. Its being mentioned to how many guests moaned and complained. I work at the Front Desk of the Hotel about 12 hours a day and I do welcome every single guest to bring these complains to my attention. Most of our staff has been here for many years, including most of the front desk staff. Why are we not being told if there are grievances? We are here to help and make your stay as enjoyable possible. You need to tell us here, while we still can fix things. So please, anyone who might read this. If there is anything that displeases you, menu, entretaiment, rooms, views, time schedules, etc...Please let us know so that we might help you to our habilities while you are here. We do want you to be happy and eventually return just like these guests here. Silence while at the Hotel does not help you nor me. This year we are on our way to gain for the first time the important "Q" (for quality) Hospitality prize for the Hotel Coral and with this aim we do have to provide superior degrees in service. This is the aim of the whole chain as a fact as we try to provide a differentiated experience to our customers. Cheers Daniel

Even better than before
We have litteraly just got back from a stay in the Coral Playa and all we can say is ,you would be hard pushed to find fault with this hotel. We stayed at the Coral Playa four years ago and we could,nt understand how it was given a 2 star rating, now it has 3 stars and thoroughly deserves them.If you have booked a holiday at the Coral Playa you won,t be disappointed.
Coral Playa Escana, one of our best holiday yet!
hiHi, we stayed at the Sirenis Coral Playa in Escana Ibiza this year August 2005. Our party was made up of 3 adults aged 35 and 3 kids 9,13 & 13. I would say that we are pretty "normal" people and have to say this has been one of our best holidays so far! The hotel was spotlessly clean, the food was ok for all inclusive ( you would have to be very fussy to go hungry ), the alchol was fine. The staff were all very polite and helpful, the bar staff were a particulary good laugh! The evening entertainment was fine and easy going as was the daily activities. The hotel used to be all English but now it is going for 3* it has opened it's doors to all nationalities which was fine as far as we were concerned ( but plenty of others were moaning ), everybody seemed to get on though. The whole surrounding area was great, very friendly with some good bars and sooo cheap - pint of San Miguel on the beach approx £1.20! I do not normally return anywhere regardless of how good/bad a time we have had but I would definately consider going back here because it will be very difficult to better for what we spent £ 3600 for all 6 of us. Highly recommended. I hope others find this review useful.

I've just returned from the Coral Playa in Es Cana, Ibiza. I travelled with my wife, 3year old son, 1year old son, mother, mother-in-law and father-in-law. Every one of us really enjoyed our holiday and were really happy with the hotel. We stayed on an All Inclusive basis (and had to loosen our belts by the time we came home!). Hotel I understand that the hotel has recently been extensively refurbished and it's star rating has just been increased from 2 to 3 stars. The hotel was extremely well managed, maintained and cleaned. All of the staff were very helpful and gave great service Room Everything in the our rooms looked brand new and of a high standard. They were kept really clean by the daily maid service. The beds were really comfy and the bathroom was fitted to a high standard. Every room has it's own balcony, tv, hairdryer and safe. Food The food was what you would expect from three star accommodation. It's not going to blow you away but I felt it was more than adequate and catered for all tastes. There was always an option for children. The food was served buffet style. Bars The bar staff were all really efficient and kept the waiting times to a minimum. There is a large bar in the lounge which served drinks and snacks throughout the day. There's also a poolside bar which is only open during high season. The only other bar was inside the restaurant. Entertainment There was an extensive entertainment program at this hotel. Apart from games and competitions throughout the day there was a show on each night (either in the lounge or the poolside stage area). The entertainment was all pretty good but Zapper really stood out as the best night. Pools There is a large pool and a small children’s pool. The children’s pool was handy as it was tucked away in a corner next to a playground. There was plenty of space for sun beds and it was safe for children. The large pool looked as if it was part of the hotels refurbishment and looked brand new. Both pools seemed to be really, really clean and were tested for chemical levels regularly. Resort Es Cana is a really nice resort that is ideal for families. It was really clean and there was very little building work going on. The resort surrounds a beach (with all the usual water sports) and a small harbour. Boats leave regularly for other resorts and Ibiza Town. There are plenty of bars, restaurants and shops to choose from and it's only 25'ish km from the airport. There's also a small fair for the kiddies in the centre. The resort is also home to the hippy market (which is held on Wednesdays). Location The hotel is situated at the far end of the beach to the harbour (along with three or four other hotels). Although the hotel is not actually on the beach it is only 250 yards away. The busiest area of the resort is around the harbour which is literally five minutes walk. The Downsides The hotel rooms either face the pool or a road. Unfortunately ours faced the road and we heard the infamous dustbin lorry each morning at around 6am! I would not recommend that you use the high chairs in the restaurant. Our 17 month old son jerked forward and the chair completely toppled over. Tips Although Es Cana beach is fine. There is a nicer one in the other direction from the hotel which is well worth the visit (I think is was called Cala Nova). If you go to the Hippy Market please go as early as possible as it will get very busy later on. The all inclusive deal was excellent and was not much more expensive than half board. Summary I would definitely recommend this hotel. It is well managed, clean, in a good location in a nice resort. Plus the service is excellent. Book this hotel with confidence. Put your hands up if you love Tripadvisor!!! Isn't it great to be able to make informed decisions and not end up in a dump of a hotel?
it was gr8
i went with my mom and the hotel is not what we expected it was only a 2 star hotel but it was more like a 3 star the staff are really friendly and the rooms and hotel its self was really clean the night entertament was gr8 and as the hotel was all inclusive you could have food and drink when u wanted it i would recomend this hotel to anyone as it has got good standerds
