dissapointed with this hotel

Oct 2011, spencer family

myself and husband stayed here 2009 and everything was great, we have just been back with all the family very dissapointed first of all the pool view room that we have payed for they made us pay again 210 euros, so we did, there was holes all over the hotel cielings and walls and water leaks all over which we reported. Two of the single beds that we had payed for were camp beds and my son was in agony all week with his back. The were really un friendly and not helpful at all, one ever threw a cheese sandwhich at my son in law and said he was too tired to cook. There was ants in all 3 of the bathrooms of the rooms we payed for that bite. Around the pool and bar area there is cracked tiles on the floor in lots of places. The lifts were faulty and trapped my grandsons head because you have to be quick getting in and out of the lift, and on some occassions the lights were not on in the corridors which made it pitch black, loose banister rails but apart from that the thomas cook entertainers (leanne & Malky) were fantastic 10/10 and the place was really clean and we really enjoyed our holiday putting the hotel aside please book at a different hotel if going to this resort.

  • Advice: take ant killler, wear sandles at all times and dont look around hotel the more you look the more you find

We have just returned from the Tsokos Beach Hotel, really nice staff. Rooms could do with a lick of paint but very clean. Food was good but being in Cyprus I did want to eat local dishes and they did a theme for the Evening Menu, would have preferred not to have a carvery or chinese, I can have them here anytime. They did do a Cypriot and a Greek night though. Really good location for beach and main bars. Leanne and Malky did a great job too, though not keen on the bingo.

This is by far one of the best hotels I have ever had the pleasure of staying in. Myself, cousin, aunt and uncle stayed here in August this year (my cousins third stay, aunt and uncle's fifth). This hotel offers excellent food, excellent selection, excellent service and excellent staff!.. From the moment we arrived we were received with a warm welcome from all. The entertainment provided by Leanne and Malky (AKA Olivia Neutron Bomb) was brilliant and had something to offer for all ages. I had never been to Cyprus before but after this experience I will be returning every year without a doubt, so much so that within two days of returning to the UK (boo!) I had booked up again for next year. Hats off to the fabulous Tsokkos Beach Hotel and the beautiful coastal town of Protaras!...

the hotel staff were brill, head waiter chris was so good at his job remembering everones room numbers anddrink orders, malkie on entertainment was realy funny when he appeared on stage as freddie mercury,we felt he carried leanne with his ad libs and hard work, she seemed to be more interested in getting a suntan, singing, and holding babies.and her begging of people too rate them as exellent when on thier return journey so they could get a bonus because they arent paid well was pathetic.iwould go back to this hotel, the food and service was very good, the hotel was nice and clean tho needs updating

  • Advice: the dancing fountains and a trip to famagusta are a must

The good, the bad, the ugly.

Sep 2011, Geordies on tour

The good - 38C in the shade, location, views, friendly staff, refurbished restaurant and excellent food, Malky and Leeanne the entertainments staff - must see Malky as Olivia Neutron Bomb - the Eden centre for eating out and outdoor entertainment and Dancing Waters.
The bad - having to reserve sunbeds at 05.30 am thanks to Odessa guests using pool, dated and small rooms, lifts frequently not working and nightly bingo.
The ugly - tiles lifting from pool floor, several children to doctors with ear infections and lethal floors when wet.
Generally, our group of 6 adults and 3 children enjoyed the holiday.
I would recommend this hotel and would go again but NOT in August.

Definately Dodgey.

The childs beds are prison beds with an extremely thin matress, (and roughly for the same price as an adults bed). The maids do a brilliant job tiedying the room and all members of staff are very friendly except for the head waitor of the resturant, he always seems fed up and never smiles, I also noticed that he tells his staff of a lot for doing nothing wrong. The gym is not looked after very well, and we had no idea how to access the sauna and massage room. Leanne and Malky were the high light of the holiday. They are appsolutely brilliant! Some of the things they do are repetative such as doing quizes every single day and bingo every single night, but they are told what to do so thats not their fault. They always come round and have a chat with every one, and they are very funny. The activities during the day are the same every day (Zzzzzz) and the kids club is not really for anyone up the 12 years old, its for up to 5 year olds, which means that as you have to be over 12 to do most things, if you are from the age group of 6-11 you are going to be dead bored! The food is of a bad quality. Most meat is fatty, and within a week you end up with food that has been left for ages, all you have to do is look at it to say thats not fresh. Receptionists are really friendly and are really organized. Pool is cleaned every morning and is lovely and refreshing. The beach is just down the road (literally) and is less than a 1 minute walk. There are lots of restuarants nearby, I recommend Georgia, which is at the top of the road which is also less than a 1 minute walk. There are lots of bars and pubs most have better entertainment than the hotel! Also there is a jetty where you can have boat trips, the jetty is on the beach. For boat trips I recommend Captain Panikkos, and dont worry about the name, he doesnt Panic!
I hope this will help you book your holiday.

Really enjoyed our stay at Tsokkos beach, food was fine with a good variety of different foods, the staff are extremely helpful and friendly. The rooms could do with an update but are very clean. Malkee and Leeane work extremely hard on the entertainment side,Leeane's laugh is like a hyeena on crack cocaine, but I promise you will get used to it, the pool floor needs re-tiling in places as there were a few cut feet and toes, situated just of the main drag and near the beach, all in all great holiday and met some fantastic people.

This holiday hotel was really great we could not fault the staff and the food with one or two things wrong firstly there is only one set of steps to get out of the pool which can be a pain if you are at the other side - the toilets are in the basement which is no good if you have children as it is creepy and the annoucement for not entering the bar when wet is always done is english so how do the other nationalities understand that it is dangerous

Just back, great hotel 3* hotel that gives 4*service. Rooms cleaned and towels changed every day. Food very good and excellent dining room service. If you do not fancy lunch you can always have a snack from the bar which are very good. The hotel is very clean and the staff are very pleasant and helpful. The entertainment team of Malky and Leanne are excellent, they worked very hard to entertain with limited resources. They are the best entertainment team we have come across they certainly compliment each other. The hotel is perfectly situated for the resort centre and the beach. We will definately be going back to Protaras and will hopefully be able to book this hotel.

excellent hotel for families, very friendly staff, rooms cleaned daily, air-con brilliant as can get very hot even in june when we were there, all inclusive package well worth the money as food was excellent with plenty to choose from every day. Evening meals different every night, chips and nuggets for the children if they wanted it. The highlight of this hotel is by far the entertainment laid on by Leanne and Malky, they work non stop to make your holiday full of fun for children and adults alike. Top marks for them both, absolutley the best you can get for entertainers ! keep up the good work guys, see you again next year.

After booking independantly to stay at Silver Sands (another Tsokkos hotel about 5 mins down the road) we were asked to move to this hotel due to overbooking. Initially we were a bit reserved as upon arrival at the Silver Sands we were inconvenienced by there not being a cot in the room for our daughter.
However after being advised that we would be helped to move - consierge assistance, transport and a FREE upgrade to All Inclusive we really couldn't complain that an hour out of our first day to move was that bad.
On arriving at the Tsokkos Beach you can see that the exterior and reception are in need of updating - however cleanliness in these area's is not an issue. The rooms are dated also with damage due to wear/age - iron burns in carpet area's and plug sockets loose, the fridge also had mould spots in. The air conditioning in our room was poor - not good in 30+degree heat with an infant and to be honest I personally didn't think the room was cleaned properly daily 100%. Bed linen and towels however were always replenished and clean. This alone may put some people off, however if a room is clean and comfortable we only class this as a place to get ready and sleep. Other area's are more important to us as a family.
Those being the only negative points I can quite honestly say that the decision to move was one of the best we ever made - so much so that we will now be going back to the Tsokkos Beach in August. The food was second to none - the dining area has obviously been modernised and the selection at breakfast, lunch and dinner was so varied you couldn't complain at all. This was our first time all inclusive and with an infant it will now be the only way forward for us.
The pool area is lovely and clean, surrounding sunbeds are in great supply. The childrens pool is also fantastic. The other major factor for us was the brilliant entertainment provided day and night by Leanne & Malky (Malcolm - I believe!) representing Thomas Cook. Having booked our holiday independantly as we're not keen on the whole charter holiday/coach transfers etc we can honestly say they were absolutely fantastic and worked their socks off day and night to give guests a great holiday should you wish to join in.
We can't wait to go back and enjoy the relaxed and fun atmosphere this place offers. Great play to stay for familys and suchlike.
