The Timanfaya Apartments in Puerto Del Carmen Lanzarote, were the perfect location for our young family's holiday.
The primary reason for our choice was the excellent complex security which meant our kids couldn't get out on their own, no matter how hard they tried, plus non residents couldn't get in. There was an excellent swimming pool outside our room plus a small bar with snack facilities.
Lanzarote weather always seems to be reliable, and our two week stint proved to be no exception as the sun shone throughout. The apartments are a 5-10 minute walk to the busy front where there are loads of great places to eat every kind of cuisine at fair prices.
One word of warning however! Many locals will attempt to sell you electrical goods which seem genuine but can be dodgy, no matter how official they look - buyer beware!.
All in all the island and this part of it in particular is a great place to visit for couples or those with young families and it is only a short journey from the airport.

Nice hotel. Ideally located for shopping and 10 mins from the port where you can catch ferries to the islands of Ischia and Capri. Breakfast in the morning was well presented and had a good range.
Down points: there were road works outside which made significant noise if the window was open but fine when closed. Don't walk around the local area at night by yourself but the area is a lot better than up the road near the Plaza Garibaldi.
Well presented, recommended.
