Excellent choice in Naples
We stayed at the Mediterraneo Renaissance for 2 nights at start of december. Weather in Naples was awful, terrible! The hotel is very high standard for Naples and the location is perfect.. exactly in the city center, in the right side (not in spanish quartiers that are very bad and dirty). The room is well sized, very very clean, with parquet and a nice bathroom. The breakfast room is fantastic, with a stunning view over the city, the castle and the Vesuvio. It's also a good quality and quantity breakfast. Overall, it's one of... more
Great location
I stayed at this hotel at the beginning of October and I would stay there again. It was very clean, the staff were very helpful and friendly and the view of Naples from the breakfast terrace is stunning! The area is good in comparison to some neighbourhoods in Naples which are generally quite dodgy. It is close to the shopping area and within walking distance to the castle and the waterfront. The room was a good size and very clean, the bed was comfortable. Some people I was with complained of street noise, but my room was... more
Great hotel!
I stayed at this hotel for four nights and had a great experience. The front desk staff was super helpful and definitely went above and beyond. The hotel was clean and comfortable. The location was central too. The only negative comment I have is that the hotel literature they give you indicates that there is a pool on the property.......not true. No pool. I'd definitely recommend people visiting Naples to stay here!
We loved Napoli
Okay, we read everything about Naples before we left. We heard about the crime, the dirtiness, the Vespas......and I just about booked in Sorrento for the 5 days my husband had business in the area. Are we glad we stayed in Naples. It was one of the best vacations we had. If I might give some advice - here goes. Stay in the right area. We stayed at the Marriott Renaissance Grande Mediterranae. We payed 120 euro per night (including taxes and breakfast for 2). We had a lovely room with a huge window that looked right out to Mt.... more
Absolutely fabulous...best hotel experience ever!
This was, hands down, the absolute best hotel experience I ever had. I had paid for a basic room (at a discounted rate) and arrived to find that we had been upgraded to a Junior Suite (with 2 bathrooms, a walk-in closet, balcony, 2 queen sized beds) at no extra cost. The suite would have cost over 5 times what we paid. I asked the front desk about it and was told that they were under new management and the manager wanted to treat us to an extra-special stay. The room was fabulous and well kept, though housekeeping did not vaccuum... more
The soul of an international hotel in Naples
I staed at the Renaissance Naples Hotel Mediterraneo beginning of juneand it was a greit experience, greit touch of elegance and very pleasant staff. Restaurant service and food is much over the expectation, downtown bar very nice with piano bar, and the roof restaurant for breakfast is a greit start. Definetly this Renaissance tells You what Marriott means, I very much suggest this hotel in Naples, for the service, the central location and the sence of security.
loved this hotel
I was at the Meditteraneo for 6 days in March and really loved it. The desk personal were so very nice and helpful and the area was perfect. I felt very safe in this area walking at night(but always hold on to your bag and no jewlery). The rooms were large for a european hotel and decorated very beautifully. I give it a 5 star and I am rather fussy !!!
Not worth it!
First, this is now a Marriott Property. Very difficult to find from the directions on their website. Signage is very poor. Once you find it, you are on your own. Front glass doors are very heavy and there is no one to help you in at all. Have to drag your luggage up about eight steps to get to the front doors. Staff is very curt and not helpful. Cars are parked in garage next to hotel. After you go down in the garage, you can risk your life coming back up the ramp. Ice is only available through room service and watch out....even... more
Good City Hotel
I stayed in May and returned in October the same year because central location and staff. They were updating the hotel and on my second visit we had a very nice refurbished room. The views from the breakfast room were superb across the Bay of Naples. Not a pretty Hotel that one would find in Sorrento/Capri/Ischia but an accommodating City Hotel well located near the port for visiting the above and not too far from the Airport.
Good safe choice
While the Grande Albergo Mediterraneo hotel was being refurbished while we visited it (Oct 2003), we were still really pleased with our choice. We'd expect it to be even better when it's complete - the front desk was only temporary when we were there but from the plans on show it will be quite impressive. Our room was reasonably sized, with all the usual features for the class of hotel international TV, movies, hairdryer, electronic combination safe, two large wardrobes. The bath room was very clean (although not huge), there was no bath in... more
