We had a fabulous time. We stayed in the apartments which really are metres away from the main hotel where you have all your meals. The waterpark is below the apartments so no problem getting a sunbed. The waterpark is plenty big enough to keep you amused. Everything is... more

okay
okay apart for the entertainment,it was awful
Girls week! 18th Bash
Hello. Just came back from an all girls week away. 13 of us celebrating an 18th birthday. We have had the most amasing time! The weather wasnt as good as hoped but the hotel was lovely. We went all inclusive and the food was okay not as much choice as on previous holidays but of a good standard and the snack menu was fantastic. It consistented of pizza bagettes burgers omellettes jacket potaoes pasta and sandwiches so if you couldnt find anything you liked in main restaurent order from the snack menu. The cocktails were cracking!!! And they table served form 2pm to save the legs a trip to the bar. Entertainment was very poor but only 10 mins to Ayia napa so when bar stops serving at 12.... club until 5 in the morning! All round good value for money!
Ruined Honeymoon!!!!
It may have taken time to write this but thats because its difficult to put into words a ruined honeymoon!!! We booked our superior apartment for our honeymoon and paid £3500.00 alot of money for many people, this was following reccomendation from a friend who stayed there and from talking directly to the manager of the hotel. After being satisfied i contacted Thomas Cook as we wanted a package. We booked the Anastasia superior apartments but what we got was very different!! When we arrived we were dropped at the Ausonia apartments but told it was Anastasia. Our room was dirty and far from luxury, we had ants in the food cupboard and floor where the children slept on pull out beds even though we were on thr 4th floor!!! and the 1st night a very large cockroach that we had to catch because the cleaners had gone home. We soon realised we had been placed in alternative accomodation that T C were using as Anastasia not only for us but for many other guests too. There were many unhappy people there including another honeymoon couple, when we spoke to the manager he said he was very unhappy as he had complaints from the start of the season. We also have documents to prove that T C are selling these apartments as Ausonia from another guest who paid a budget price!!!!!!! A little more positive - Cyprus is lovely, the boat trips are great and the kids loved the watersports. The all inclusive package was OK with ample for the kids however the food left a lot to the imagination and quite frankly we were bored with it although it was good quality. Just a couple of points about this hotel- the toilets in the main foyer smelt badly all the time because of the amount of people using them teenagers were aloud to drink stupid amounts of alcohol. broken glass was by the pool every morning. most of the staff look really sad! you have to be up early for a sunbed. and the entertainment was not what i would expect from T C. Please take note of this report I do not complain easily. We reccomend go to Cyprus, but go self catering because you can use all hotel facilities anyway. Good Luck.
nice hotel shame about the rubbish entertainment
We booked this holiday as a special treat for my 50th birthday we went all inclusive for the first time ever and we will not do so again. The hotel was nice the staff were ok and the food was quite good but the entertainment was embarrising , how can Thomas Cook put down in thier brochure that there is an entertainment programe because as far as i could see it was a quick game of bingo then a Thomas Cook rep would get up on stage a try to sing because of this we would have to venture out of the hotel every night to find some sort of entertainment which in turn made this holiday more expensive. We were not the only unhappy people you could tell this by the lack of people in the hotel of an evening time every one was out looking for a better place to spend their time. If i was the owner of this hotel i would be wanting to speak to Thomas Cook asap or to put their own entertainment programe together they cant do any worse.
Very Poor
Myself and my husband stayed in this hotel for a week. It was an all inclusive package in a four stars hotel so we expected quality service. The reception staff was everything but helpful and friendly and every time we had to leave our room key, they looked at us as if they were doing us a big favour. I must admit the rest of the staff was very frienly and helpful. The quality of the food was beyond poor. I cannot believe a four stars hotel can serve food like that. Another unbelievable thing was they did not have separated areas for smoking and not smoking people so we were having our breakfast and the people on the table next to ours were smoking like chimneys(that is something you do not like first thing in the morning unless you are a smoker)The beach opposite the hotel was filthy but we found a nice one five minutes walk from the hotel. We will not go back to that hotel.
Hotel Chav
This hotel is in Perena not Protaras and is quite a long way from the resort centre! We stayed here during peak time in mid August and although we managed to (unbelievably) have quite a good holiday, overall we found a number of things quite disappointing. Firstly, the landscape east of Larnaca was hardly picturesque and resembled a lunar landscape sort of nuclear testing range, with architecture influenced by eastern European concrete tenement style along with ugly tanks on every roof. Not too much they can do about all that I suppose but still ugly never the less. One thing that immediately got my attention was seeing the dreaded bin next to the toilet on arrival at the airport! One of the oldest civilisations in the world and they still can’t modernise their loos so you can flush loo paper down it. I wonder if they just do it to humiliate tourists and the locals don’t have to suffer the indignity. When I fist went to Crete 26 years ago maybe fair enough, but this is a new resort! One very disappointing thing was the general lack of anything remotely traditional anywhere. Everywhere you go all you can see is fish & chip shops, English & Irish bars and tacky theme bars with names like Flintstones and Fools & Horses. The hotel itself has quite an impressive reception and the rooms are of typical hotel size and nicely furnished and decorated. However, I have stayed in countless hotels in the UK on business and overseas on holiday and overall would not consider this hotel to be worthy of 4 star status. It seemingly achieves it on its additional facilities such as an indoor pool and gym, but the main thing was that the clientele certainly aren’t 4 star! Expect to see a lot of bare chested heavily tattooed men even during evening dinner times, usually wearing sports gear but looking like they haven’t done anything athletic for years and their similarly attired spouses. There was one guy that must have been about 30 stone and was bare chested every night in the bar. I think other guests must have complained because he covered up after a few days. The entertainment wasn’t as bad as I was expecting. It was just 4 early 20 something’s doing their best but did get repitious towards the end. Bad points… Lots of litter generally around the whole island but especially along the shore of the nearby grotty beaches with black muddyish “sand”. Frequently wet upholstered seats in the bar area where people have sat on them during the day in wet swimwear. Slow bar service during peak times with no more then two staff ever serving despite very long queues. Prohibitively slow internet access. Food at best average. A few bars but not much to do around hotel. Good points… Good weather. Friendly helpful staff (all of whom are Polish other then management and reception). Best room air con ever had.
Be Carefull.
Well, where do i start. We were there with 2 girls aged 8,12,teenage boy 14,two sets of parents. We had a fantastic holiday the 2 weeks we were there, its our second time there so it must have something. The first time we went there was july 2004,had that much of a good time we went back july this year with freinds. We told our freinds that when we go we should book the appartments,as they overlooked the pool and looked absolutley lovely. Well, when we got to the Hotel, they told us that we were in the appartments behind the accom we thought we were getting called the Ausonia Appts. We booked with Thomas Cook for the Anastasia Appts, thinking we were getting these, but put into these others, dont get me wrong, these were very adaequate, clean, and spacious, but when you book something and pay good money to do it,you expect to get exactly what you pay for.WE DIDNT. We were not the only ones either, when we got chatting,as you do,there must of been another 7 or 8 couples who had the same done to them. Im not a winge or a boring old fart,im just doing what we all said we would do on returning home,im just warning you all,to make double sure that if you book the Anastasia Appts, you get them. The Ausonia is about 200 mtrs from the main pool,so if you have little ones,it isnt much fun for them walking this far everyday. You cant use anything in the Ausonia if you are all inclusive ,you must go to the main Hotel. We had the best holiday we have all had in years, the food in the hotel is top drawer, plenty for the kids all day and night, great staff, even though they look miserable buggers,we found out that they get payed a pittance and work long hours,so that answered all our questions. Just hope this has been of some use to you all, dont get dissapointed like we all did.Love Cyprus, and will deffinetley be back.Hopefully to the Anastasia Appts.LOL. We are in the process of putting a letter together to Thomas Cook, will let you all know how we get on.
+ hotel, - entertainment
The hotel is quite nice, but maybe not quite 4-star standard. The food is average. The location is quite good for a quiet holiday but that is spoilt for a few reasons. Firstly the 'so-called' entertainment was very poor and not in keeping with the 4-Star rating of the hotel. Little effort was put into the performances, constant mistakes were laught off and the general lack of professionalism was unbelieveable. Then the constant reminder from the first night and every night afterwards by the 'Entertainers' to tick the excellent box on our way home to give them a good review wasn’t a good start. We obviously didn’t give them a excellent tick, but I’m sure many other have been pressured into doing it. We discovered why while we were staying at the hotel. Those families who were on an All-inclusive package, were targeted for free drinks everynight both before and after the entertainment. Other families were almost totally ignored for their stay. On the first night we happily got some drinks for them, but it became every night and sometimes during the day. Unfortunately this was when the Thomas Cook Entertainment Team became a nuisance during our stay. They all seemed to hate their jobs and didn't mind telling everyone about how bad it was and how poorly they were paid. They just seemed more interested in drinking and partying after they'd finished 'trying' to entertain. Most of the time they looked more than a little worse for wear in the mornings. These worthless entertainers ruin what is quite a nice hotel with good facilities. Yours truly, Unhappy holidaymaker
Hotel was Ok, Entertainment wasn't
As others have said the hotel general is ok. The food isn't 4 star, but that seems to be the norm. We found the same as others with the Entertainment. They seemed only interested in the all-inclusive holiday makers, who'd they'd hassle for free drinks at the bar. Also, the constain hassle to fill in our forms and give them a good mark. Must be the only thing saving them, as I'm sure a few holidaymakers were hassled into doing it when they left. The Entertainment itself was very chessey and more like a No Star than 4 Star. Poorly performed and a general don't care attitude. One of the team seemed more interested in going out clubbing in AYIA NAPA after their performance (if you can call it that) and getting free drinks. She was normally too tired to do her job adequately during the day after 3-4 hrs sleep and a hang-over. Thomas Cook should be ashamed of these members of their staff. They are more suited to entertaining 18-30's, who'd be too drunk to notice. I would stay clear of this hotel if you're thinking of spending time in the evenings within the hotel, or don't want people telling you how to rate their performance and having beggars after free drinks.
As good as you make it
where should i start the hotel, it was clean and tidy with friendly staff alot of which were made up of polish and ukrainians they were very eager to please , we found the food and drinks to be both varied and of a high standard ,there was a waiter service round the pool and in reception snacks a plenty . i would advise anyone to look round the place and ask the staff whats available for the all inclusive because theres plenty but unless you ask you dont get, pool was clean and tidy and the near by beach was great for snorkling. the entertainment was a bit shakey but there young and they were new to the complex but thought they did a grand job kept little ones entertained while parents drifted off into oblivion. all in all we had a great time there were eight of us aged between 16 and 59 and everyone had a ball would recommend this hotel and look forward to going back myself.
