We had a fantastic holiday at the anastasia. Accomodation was very good , staff were pleasant at all times and very helpful, food was brilliant something for everyone, entertainment excellent. For a lovely day out we recommend a walk to Fig Tree Bay, absolutely beautiful , you mustn't miss it.
This is the first time we have been to Cyprus and we are going back in October and again in June 2009, to stay at the Anastasia.

just returned from a weeks holiday at the anastasia , this hotel should be rated 3* not a 4* , hotel is 10 years old and is looking tired ,needs a refurb. have stayed here before but the new thing is where you have your breakfast you also have your dinner , but due to it having a carpeted floor , dont look on the floor full of stains ,why they cant clean during the day beats me . staff in resturant eastern european fine but dont speak english ,except for saying your welcome.road outside used to be quiet due to a dead end but now road has been opened up ,short cut for lorries .

This was a party of 33 and 8 of which were children, nothing for them to do, no kids club and no entertainment except pool, darts, or a quiz on the afternoon.
The food was OK and the staff were good and over worked, getting a drink at night was good practice for waiting at a bus stop.
The hotel itself was nice but make sure you stay there and not in the apartments they are stuck in the 70's. We will not be going back!

A very nice hotel with incredibly friendly staff. At the we visited we had an 8 month old child. One side of the hotel faces out onto restaurants and bars so was a little noisy up to midnight. We asked to move after a couple of nights and the manager was very happy to help.
The food is of a good standard I thought and there was plenty of variety, although if you are a vegetarian like my wife then you may find the menu limited.
The hotel had good entertainment and was clean. It was right on the beach although the sea was cold and pool even colder but this is to be expected in October.
All in all I would recommend the hotel to anyone, although as I have found out not everybody has the same standards.

I have been to the Anastacia beach hotel 8 times before and I have to say I have never had a problem with the service and I always find the hotel is clean, staff are polite and speak very good English, and my family always have an excellent time.
I am a very fussy eater, but I always find something, even the in-between meals are fantastic.
For this holiday I would say it is best to hire mopeds, or a car so you can go into Protaras, but if you don’t drive or can’t afford to hire, buses run regularly until late or you can take a short walk to the shops of Paralimni.
Overall I had a fantastic time and I am going back in 2 weeks!

I would not recommend this hotel as a 4* at best it is a 3*. I cannot understand the people that rate this place!
Although it is very clean and the staff are very nice it is just not what you pay for when all inclusive.
The food was not impressive at all and we found ourselves eating out much of the time (out of ten days eight spent eating out).
The entertainment provided is just... Well words cannot tell the story, second rate butlins at best.
If you require a quite holiday and don't eat, drink and like entertainment at all then this is the holiday for you.
For anyone else please save your money and choose somewhere else.

Before I review the hotel just a quick word about booking. There is a travel agent [JustGo] that guarantees to beat Thomas Cook, Airtours etc if you book through them.
We booked with them, then found Thomas Cook £200 cheaper on line. JustGo refused to honour their advertisement using the cop out that you had to book with Thomas Cook on the High Street - beware!
Anyway - we stayed in two apartments as part of the complex. They were both modern, clean and well equipped and overlooked the pool on the ground floor. The kids [13,10,8] loved the place. Activities all day, eat and drink when and what you like and plenty of nice kids to knock around with.
The meals were adequate, I think it is fair to say but there is plenty to eat. The drinks were fine and being all inclusive was a bonus in that we tried all the cocktails on offer. I wouldn't drink the lager to be honest; it’s like the stuff you find in Aldi!
The entertainment in the evening is a bit Butlin-esque for my tastes but the live music was always fun.
I wouldn't stay here if you wanted an all out beach holiday though. The small beach seemed to have disappeared or was being reconstructed.
We wanted a holiday where we could get a bit of sun [in April], stay on site, be fed and watered, not have to bother sightseeing and let the kids burn off some steam while we caught up with some reading.
We got just that.

First impression of the MAIN hotel...
6 / 10
Aug 2006, Mr D Wordley

First impression of the MAIN hotel was good, BUT check that's where you’re staying as we were dumped in what I can only call a hostel that had been well used and not refitted since it was built in the 70's.
For an all inc holiday (which we have been on many) this was the worst, air con you have to pay for, a fridge is provided but not stocked, pool towels are provided (if you can get them) but don't expect to get clean ones, sat TV in room was 2 German channels and that's it, dirty rooms with ants and cockroaches, it's pot luck with which tap gives out the hot water (this changed daily and sometimes both taps gave scolding water) and don't be fooled by the pictures of the beach, this is a lot of rocks with a few bags of sand chucked on top also, be careful if you have small children as the whole pool area is open plan and surrounded by a road
Most if not all of our complaints are minor but when you think your getting these things then end up having to pay for them it p##s#s you off and when you pay to have a family room I expect it to be fit for my family and the one we had was very borderline.
I would call this place full board with soft drinks and diluted alcohol thrown in and don't expect any more than that
Good bits
Main lobby and restaurants we thought were good, food was good, staff were very friendly and pools and communal area's were very clean, and as said before the main hotel was impressive which is where we spent most of our evenings drinking vodka bought from the shop across the road
Overall we did have a good time but it could have been just that bit better if they had pulled down the building we were in, oh, and entertainment i think was people that got the sack from butlins ;-)

Hotel is "faded" 4 star. Rooms...
6 / 10
Aug 2006, Mr M Robinson

Hotel is "faded" 4 star. Rooms starting to look a bit tired but bathrooms are clean.
Breakfast (standard Med hotel fare, funny bacon, sausage etc.) is served in the bar area, which I've not seen before.
There is no pool bar, and since the majority of people staying there seemed to be on all inclusive, it looked as if the hotel made it "awkward" to get drinks - the waiters only came around occasionally, with one barman on duty inside for most of the day.
Staff friendly, mostly Central European, so you won't improve your Greek language skills. Standard quiz/water polo/football entertainment during the day, rep stuff and club singers at night. The hotel pool was busy, but there is a pool next door attached to some apartments owned by Tsokkos that is really peaceful, with sun beds still available at 10 in the morning. Really good water sports place 2 minutes away from the hotel.
Didn't try the hotel restaurant, but there are some really good ones nearby - Blue Spice and Polyxenia are particularly good. Don't try the Chinese unless you like eating polystyrene. The other thing about Protaras is it's a mecca for tribute acts and Karaoke - most nights you'll have Abba, Elvis and Tom Jones all singing out of key within 50 feet of where you're sitting.
Strangest thing about this hotel, and the only time I've ever known it, is that they have no luggage room or courtesy rooms available. We had a midday checkout and a late flight, which meant we ended up getting showered in the pool toilet area - disgusting. You leave your cases in reception when you check out and hope for the best. Left a lasting bad impression of the hotel.
Overall OK, but if you've stayed in a good 4 star hotel in Cyprus before, you'll be disappointed

Having just got back from this hotel...

May 2006, Miss L East

Having just got back from this hotel this is by far one of the best hotels I’ve stayed in, in Cyprus receptionists did the best they could. I thought all staff spoke very good English which I think is important. The waiters were remarkable with their service.
The only bad points I have about the hotel were the all inclusive bands as the were sharp and we kept cutting our selves on them, I spoke to others and they had done exactly the same I think they need to come up with some safer method as young children can really hurt them selves with it on. The Jacuzzi was cold but wasn’t essential for us to enjoy our holiday.
The rooms were clean enough and the maids are very friendly and try their best to help. E.g. fresh towels everyday if we needed them. All round this was a great hotel and don’t understand why anyone would think not.

We booked at the last moment but...

Apr 2005, Mrs P Toombs

We booked at the last moment but assumed because Olympic Holidays specialise in Cypriot holidays it would be good, and it was rated as 4* but I really do not know how.
We are well travelled and holiday 3/4 times a year and this is by far the worst hotel we have ever been in. On arrival the receptionist was friendly , but no sign of any help with our luggage and we were left to find our room alone.
The room on first impressions appeared clean, but as then as we looked further the pillows were absolutely filthy and stained, we took photographs but unfortunately they did not come out. We saw the rep once . The entertainment was non-existent or awful i.e. bingo. The food was inadequate and not well cooked , one piece of chicken that I selected was raw. It ran out and was not replenished., so even the chef said that if you did not get there at 6.30 hard luck. We ate out the rest of the week.
The breakfasts were cold, with reconstituted bacon. The pool area was dirty, rubbish there at the beginning of the week was still there at the end. There was no daytime entertainment as advertised , the Jacuzzi was not working and the pools were too cold to use. The indoor pool despite having an age warning for unattended children was occupied by young children causing havoc. Nobody stopped them.
In essence I would not recommend this hotel to anyone, and I only wish that I had seen this website before we went. This should not be advertised as a 4* possibly 3* at best.

Sep 2004, Mrs M Nesbit

Resort is ideal for a relaxing holiday.
Hotel was gorgeous but I wouldn’t have rated it 4*. Maids changed your towels every day but only cleaned up the room once you checked out.
We went half board and upgraded to AI once we got there which saved us £500, but unfortunately, we found that it wasn’t worth upgrading. The local drinks weren’t that spectacular and I’d rather have paid a bit extra to get a decent drink. The food wasn’t too bad. Loved the soup every day. Seeing chips every day at lunch and evening meal was a bit off putting but they tried to cater for all different tastes.
Overall, I would definitely go back to Protaras but may try a different hotel. The Cypriots are so friendly and the town is laid back and relaxed. An ideal winding down holiday.
