This is the WORST hotel I have ever stayed in. At first my friend and I were placed in a love big spacious room with floor to ceiling widows along one wall and a large balcony which was a nice surprise. After two days our water stopped, toilet would not flush and electicity... more

I was not happy about staying here, after reading the bad reviews especially the ones about money getting stolen however when we got there we found out the people who did get money stolen were the ones who were leaving their doors open and being careless. Staff are really... more

We renamed this hotel the "Shatalina" for a reason. Thinking we were going on a nice three day break to Ibiza for the Space closing party, didn't turn out that great, thank you Hotel Shatalina. It sounded ideal for our budget, reasonably priced, right on the sunset strip... more

The Catalina - San Antonio, in the space of one year since I stayed there last summer has instantly gone from one of the best, to definitely the worst hotel I've ever stayed in. The list of nightmares does go on but I urge you to read this review before agreeing to stay... more

When we arrived at the Catalina we were told, by the receptionist, that there had been a fight in our room. She said the furniture had been trashed and there was blood everywhere. She told us we'd have to stay in the Don Pepe. She said that there was not a room for 3 and... more

Just come back from a week staying at the Catalina studios - group of 4 girls. They're basic and you get what you pay for, but it was absolutely fine for what we wanted, a place to crash in. You don't go to Ibiza to spend a lot of time in your room! We had a fab time and... more

Dont stay here
We booked on the internet a few months before and paid a small deposit. When we arrived at around 5am we were told that there was no reservation in our name and all of a sudden the man at reception didnt understand or speak english. People who were staying there told us the same thing had happened to them! We were sent in a taxi to the Formentera, which is very basic. A few days after we complained and they sent us to yet another hotel which was 3 star and very nice. Its not worth the hassle, dont book the Catalina (or the Formentera come to mention it!!)
Keep hold of your key!
I went with a group of 7 and we stayed in two separate rooms, 307 & 309. We had requested sea view rooms, but there were none available. We booked up a budget holiday so wasn't expecting anything special. At first glance it was ok, and to be fair it did the job. Location was pretty good - better if you get a sea view for the sunsets. However, both rooms had salt water instead of fresh water for the taps and shower, and one of the showers wasn't working properly. The only other problem I had was leaving the keys behind the desk - we tried it a few times and you could ask for any room number you liked and they just gave you the key - so prob best to keep yours with you.
Definitely a 1 star hotel!!!!
My friend booked the holiday and told us that the hotel was great! The only great thing about the hotel was the views of the sunset. The hotel was heavily over booked and we were lucky to get a room (although we had booked and paid for our room a month previously!!) The room was very basic. The security was terrible and worst of all there was sea water coming out of the taps, so we had to shower in salt water - not an experience i ever want to repeat. This is an 18-30's hotel and if you want to get any sleep at all during your stay, it wont happen!!!! The staff were ok, but when we noticed our balcony door didnt look it took them 2 days to fix and that was only after our constant moaning about it! There were a lot of robberies going on in this hotel, but we were left with the distinct impression that it was all inside jobs - suspect........ If you're looking for a lively hotel in the midst of all the madness and can put up with the sea water showers and complete lack of sleep, then this is the place for you, otherwise please reconsider your accomodation options!!!! have fun wherever you stay x
bad but not that bad
once reading the last review i was a bit nervous to say the least , but once there it wasnt bad for how much we paid. i booked my holday with lowcostbeds., but what they dont tell you is that it is a 18-30 hotel! when we first got there at 4 in the morning a lad was asleep in the corridor so that says it all. spoke to a few people who were staying in the hotel and they heard of robberies so first thing first get a safe 3euros a day not bad. staff were freindly and helpfull, yet make sure you get all the keys for your room off them n leave them with only the master key so if you do get broken into you know its them. because anyone can walk up to reception and ask for your room key they ask for no prove of staying in the hotel. the hotel is in a fab location right on top of sunset trip preparties on your door step and 2mins to west end. if staying here just keep a eye out!
Do not stay here!
We stayed in this hotel in july 2006 and were robbed twice. we arrived and were given a key for room 301 when we were told our room was 303. we opened 301 with the key and somebody elses stuff was allover so we realised we did have the wrong key. we could have easily taken all of theit stuff. we went back down to reception and were told they did not have a key for room 303 so they had to let us in with the master key. this continued for the first couple of days, we queried where the key was and they did not know so we rqstd they change the locks which they said they would do. we returned home from a night out to find our i-pod and speakers gone. we complained to reception, who were of no help at all. they replied that there is nothing they can do, they just replied that they have two or three robberies every week! we rqstd to be moved and they offered us another room with a key. 2 days later, we returned to the room to find our suitcase gone, with all our clothes, trainers, camera, money. basically everything we had! on going into the corridor the people in the room next door came out and told us they had also been robbed and all their clothes had been taken. again, the reception were of no help at all, they would not call the police, and they told us that the cctv was broken, we rqstd to speak to management and were given a name on a card to write to. we checked out of the hotel and got a earlier flight home. if you are thinking of staying in these apartments, dont!
best view ever!
My girlfriend and i stayed at the catalina in sep 2005, we booked it as a cheap late dealfrom sky travel shop. i am an old veteran of ibiza having been seven times, however this was my girlfriends first time. To be honest i wasnt expecing much but when i saw the view from the balcony i nearly fainted! it was amazing! the sunsets were incredible! the aircon was very good. and the lady on reception was so cool! you could hear her laugh from our room! the only bad thing was the shower which kept breaking down! other than that highly recommended!
Brilliant
I stayed here with my boyfriend and friends. It was my sixth time in ibiza so i know it quite well. The location was fab it is the place for the sunsets, cafe del mar and coastline etc is just a quick walk away. The staff were very helpful, gave me fresh towels and bedding when i asked for more and the rooms were air conditioned a great plus in ibiza. You can see and hear everybody walking up to see the sunset and there is a nice atmosphere. There are shops and cafes nearby. I would return to this hotel again, it was good value and an excellent spot if you enjoy the magic of ibiza!
Great Sunset location
Although this is called Hotel Catalina - it is more like apartments. We had a fantastic stay in June. The room was huge, very clean and had a fridge, oven and sink. The hotel is in a fantastic location - above Savannas - and we could watch the sunsets every night from our balcony. I would say this is a 'classier' area of Ibiza - if you're a serious clubber and want to aviod the antics of the 'West-end' then this is the place to stay. Fab hotel, fab location and fab prices.
Loved the View.
Each night there was an incredible sunset watching party/gathering on the beach right outside the hotel (about 200 people). The rooms are very average, just be sure you get one with a beach view. I knew I would not be spending much of my time in the hotel beyond sleeping, which made this hotel great for me. Positives: View, Location, Great food very close by, Price. Negatives: Not a luxury hotel.
Careful what you sign
We stayed in room 109. It was small but clean. The bathroom window was warped and did not close and the glass was broken which created a draft. When checking in they ask you to sign a BLANK credit card authorization for "security" Would you sign a blank check and give it to a stranger? Lobby had a strange smell to it.
