Hotel was ok, decor very dated, but rooms were clean.
Bit further than the 10 minute walk the book suggested from the centre of Protaras.
Hotel food very nice, lots of choice for breakfast and plenty of it.
If you're on all inclusive you can have a lovely milkshake with ice cream, but if you're not all inclusive I'm afraid you don't get the ice cream!!??!!
Entertainment was amusing, however very repetitive!
Had our wedding there which was lovely, the hotel did an excellent job of making sure it all went smoothly.

Cavo Maris is the BEST hotel in Cyprus, I have been there 9 times with my family and they have been 2 extra times without me, I will be returning again in October 08. The staff are all wonderful, caring and really friendly. The food is yummy and such a varied amount for different people and even the food at the BBQ area and the Coral bar is great! The hotel is perfect; the reception is open all the time with staff on it to welcome you when you arrive, there is a shop in the hotel with the essentials that people need inc post cards, sun tan lotion etc, the bar isn't like English bars where you are huffing and puffing when there is only one member of staff on it, there are more than enough staff on this bar. The pool bar has 1 member of staff; Christa (& maybe another 1) she is fab though and can multi-task better than anyone i know! There is disabled access to every part of the hotel - with lifts and ramps. The kids club with Christina is brilliant, varied activites from going paddling in the sea to chilling and watching a DVD. The entertainment in the day is good ranging from aerobics in the swimming pool to archery and volleyball on the beach. The entertainment is great at night time especially the magician and the kareoke but when you've been there as many times as we have it gets a bit repetative watching the other acts, such as local dancers, local bands etc. The beach at the bottom of the hotel is gorgeous, however please be advised that it does have pebbles just as you walk into the sea, the sunbeds on the beach are £2.50 I don't have a problem with this as I either lie on my towel or my lilo! There is also a watersports kiosk on the beach that offers varieties of watersports inc jet ski, parachute on the back of a boat, pedlo's, glass-bottom speed boats and many more! You have to walk to the main town - Protaras, but it is a lovely walk to there with shops on the way. Ayia Napa is also down the road which is nice to for the younger people :) but I would advise you to go in a taxi to Ayia Napa as its a good walk. All in all I would 100% recommend the Cavo Maris Beach Hotel, it is just fabulous, and I would not rate it as a 3 star, its better! We have introduced the Cavo Maris to our friends and family and they have all said the same thing. A+++++ Cavo Maris!

What can I say! The holiday was fantastic, the staff at the hotel was very very friendly and warm, the entertainment was great! Location was beautiful.
We got married in the hotel grounds, and it was the perfect wedding! The staff there made it very romantic and private for us, and we had the best day of our life. All the arrangements were taken out of our hands, and it was lovely sitting by the pool the morning of your wedding, just chilling and relaxing!
We will definitely be going back there!

I have just returned from a week’s holiday at the Cavo Maris in Protaras. We arrived at 7am on the Monday morning and could check in straight away.
The bedroom in the hotel was very basic but clean. It did have a fridge in the room which was good but you had to pay for it as an extra which was also the same if you wanted tea & coffee.
We stayed Bed & Breakfast and although previous reviews said B & B gets treated better we still waited ages to have our order taken for lunch and then wait about 20 mins to pay for it!
The pool was lovely and the hotel is right on the beach so you've got the option of both. If you do want a lounger on the beach it costs £2.50 per day.
The hotel is about 20 mins from the main strip of Protaras and a taxi to Ayia Napa costs about £4.
Overall I did enjoy the holiday as the weather was great...

i stayed in the cavo maris hotel august 2007, the hotel was friendly, lots of entertainment fot adults and kids. the kids club was also good and offered a range of activities everyday cooking, painting and a trip to the beach. the downside for us was that all the children there including my own got ear infections from the pool. it wouldnt stop me going again though the weathers amazing the foods varied and the staff really friendl.

This is the second time we have been to the Cavo Maris, and it again was brilliant, could not ask for more.
The Hotel the rooms the food the location the beach the entertainment and the staff are all fantastic, and we will be retuning again. The kids club was great for my daughter.
The staff are very friendly and very helpful. When we arrived as we had been before we had a bottle of champagne and a bowl of fruit in our lovely air con room and we all had been given a t-shirt each, also we were invited to a repeaters dinner and all given a present. There were allot of people there that had been before, hence us all wearing the same t-shirts.
The entertainment is varied so something for everyone to enjoy, especially the kids disco which is fun to watch.
The Hotel was very clean and tidy and the rooms are great, cool and relaxing.
The food was great loads of choice.

We have a lot of thanks to make to this hotel as we have met a lot of very good friends while we have been there! Not only guests but staff to as we feel like they are family now! Melanie who is the Head Secretary is a little star and we love her to bits
This hotel has the best ever list of entertainers and for the past few years we have had the great pleasure of watching Sergio and friends entertaining us! The Waiter list is even better as they all look after us and make sure that they satisfy us to their highest ability.
The kitchen staff are very friendly and will cater to your needs whatever they are. This is where we would like to mention Andreas the Head Chef who makes sure that we all come home carrying a few extra pounds.
Reception Staff who make sure that we get in to our rooms when we come home at 6 in the morning and have no keys to get in! The cleaners make sure that our rooms are cleaned to the best of their ability as we make so much mess! The Pool and Garden men make sure that the pool is cleaned every day and the gardens are kept tidy!
Again we would like to thank all of the staff that we have forgotten and hope to see you all again next year (especially John the Waiter, Sergio the Entertainer, and Laura's sweetheart Adamos and of course the lovely Cheryl who we miss dearly!
By the way Protaras is a lovely place to visit if you have time in between parting in Ayia Napa and chasing the staff in the hotel! And if you are looking for Jewellery we advise MR George Christou whose shop is situated next door to Pizza Hut! He is the friendliest man in Protaras!

My wife and I had a great holiday staying at the Carvo Maris Beach Hotel.
The hotel was built on fairly level ground which we found very helpful as we both suffer from Osteoarthritis, and are past retirement age.
The hotel was very very good bearing in mind it's a three star, and was kept spotless by staff who we found whilst there could not have done more for us.
The food I would rate as good, more than enough variety to satisfy most people, with a selection of children's items at most meals.
The rooms were kept spotless by a very caring staff and although we did not ask for it our towels were changed every day. Two comfortable chairs were provided and a colored TV.
We had tea and coffee making facilities in the bedroom together with what I thought a nice touch, a thermos flask of chilled bottle water was provided when the room was made up each morning.
The swimming pool was very good and again was kept spotless with lots of sun beds scattered around the grounds although I would think at busy times you might have a job finding one.
The beach was the biggest let down, as it was on very rough ground and as far as I could see, if you required a sun bed there you would have had to pay as the hotel did not have a beach of its own.
Getting into local towns was quite easy as there was a very good local taxi service. This together with the bus service made for easy travel, even if the buses seemed to run to the drivers own timetable.
Altogether a very nice hotel and I would love to stay there again if I had the chance.

A fantastic holiday all round - and believe me, I am hard to please! We had a really great time at the Cavo Maris.
We stayed on an all inclusive basis and I wouldn't say we were treated any differently to other guests - most appeared to be on an all inclusive basis anyway.
The food is great - even for fussy eaters - and it is so much easier when you have children if they can eat and drink whatever or whenever they want to.
The buffet system works really well, you can eat as little or as much as you want to and there is usually something for everyone.
The poolside bar was very useful, but the blonde barmaid was definitely the most unpleasant part of the holiday.
There did seem to be a lot of ear infections at the hotel, but whether they were picked up in the sea or the pool I don't know.
If your child is prone to ear infections, then make sure you take a supply of antibiotics with you. The hotel called a doctor for our daughter and he syringed her ear, perforating her eardrum.
So be prepared and don't seek medical treatment unless completely necessary.
All in all, a brilliant time, a fantastic hotel which we would visit again.
Only one recommendation, take a room with a sea view. The inland view is VERY dull.

Very Good three star hotel but don’t go all inclusive you are treated 2nd class to B&B guests. The staff treat you differently I think they should stop AI at this hotel.
All the hotel needs is a re-furbish job and some friendly staff it could become a 4star. The location is a little out of the main strip but it's quite a nice walk in the evenings. The beach is not owned by the hotel so you will have to pay for the sun beds, totally out of order.
I love Cyprus and will be returning but not here, don’t let me put you off as we had a fab week enjoy Cyprus it's great!

We have been to the Cavo Maris for the past 3 years and are due to go again in June -can’t wait!
We have always had a great time, my partner goes fishing using a locally advertised English fishing guide and I idle my days away by the pool.
The food is good. The hotel is clean and comfortable and the staff go out of the way to make you feel at home. We requested a double bed and by the time we went back to our room it was installed!
The entertainment is varied and tries to suit all tastes. If you go there try the taverna restaurant on the way to the town for authentic Cypriot food and atmosphere it’s called the village tavern makes a good night out.
Our only complaint was regarding the holiday company themselves after experiencing a 12+ hour delay last year on our return journey which they were aware of before our departure time, but chose not to tell us until we were on the coach at 4 am. We then spent 12 hot and uncomfortable hours stuck in Nicossia, not to be recommended and no compensation offered!
If there was another company that flew from Bournemouth to Cyprus I would be using them, as nothing will stop me from getting back to the Cavo.

I, my partner (39 & 40) and our two boys (10 & 8) at the time have been to this hotel twice now. The first time we went half board and the second time we went all inclusive.
The food was lovely and the restaurant staff are brilliant, as soon as you sit down they take your drinks order. Couldn’t fault it in any way.
We upgraded to a family room the 2nd time because it was more comfy than the bog standard bunk bed rooms.
Our 2 boys absolutely loved it both times and want to go back. Unfortunately we can’t afford it this year because it cost us approx £3k last year (all inc.) plus and extra £1k spends. Oh, too much.
Going for a cheapie holiday this year, although I would go back there. Tip, if you go All inc. and need a packed lunch for 4, ask for a packed lunch for 2 cos they give you mounds of food and if you are taking the packed lunches to the waterpark it’s a lot to carry, unless you are a gannet!
Brilliant sports facilities; beach is a walk through the gardens, very safe I found for my 2. The bus stop is right outside the hotel, really cheap to go to the water park, (don’t bother with the taxis or excursions the reps try to flog you, the bus is more than adequate!)
We spent a packet last year because we all tried the paragliding and umpteen other sports, so times 4, its expensive!
It is away from the hustle and bustle of the main town, but, again you can get a bus, or a nice walk, although my 2 were bored with walking. There are some nice restaurants along the way, which you would miss if you weren’t as far out as we were. Takes about 20 mins slow walking.
We would all go back again, when we have saved up some money, but poss B&B this time cos we like going trying different restaurants. Well Recommended by us!
Only negative is that the carpet could do with ripping up and chucking away in the hallways!! But don’t let that put you off.

We booked a family room which had two bunk-beds (for the preteen children) nicely fixed to the wall and one single room for the sixteen year old.
The Cavo Maris Beach Hotel proved perfect for our requirements for the two week family holiday (last week in July/First week August). Entrainment every night in some form and during the day. We stayed fully inclusive and food and drink was on tap all the time.
Our drink orders were taken as we sat down at the table (lunch/dinner) in the restaurant and the food was of a good standard. Our children tried the main buffet food, this was good, but there was a children’s selection, chips, nuggets, sausages etc.
The beach area is picturesque, with long beach walks all around, you can also catch a bus to go further.
The staff are fantastic and can't do enough to help.
Everything else was quite nice. It was a fairly quiet location, next to a lovely small clean beach. The sea water is very clear all around that area.
The hotel and pool were clean and tidy.
There is a bus stop just across the road from the hotel (Ayia Napa - Paralimni - Protaras), or you can walk to the town and the nightlife. You should try the water park.
