I cant believe some of the negative remarks about this hotel, the staff were wonderful on the 2 occasions we visited the Old Bridge, very friendly waitresses, bar staff, cooks and even the room maids were lovely to us! Food was nice and restaurants always clean and tidy, we are going to Limassol again in October 2008 and I wish the hotel was still available because without doubt we would be staying there again, on another note Cypriot people are the most warm friendly and generous people I've ever met.

We arrived home yesterday and very grateful to be here. The old Bridge is one of the worst places you can stay. If you get offered this Hotel don't go.

The food was awful, the same meal is offered every night and next to no selection offered and it was all cold. The chicken is tough and grimy looking it was that bad that the local cats turned there noses up at it. The lunch meal faired better as it was cooked to order, so it was hot and tasty.

There was no night entertainment as advertised in the brochure, the bar shut at 11p.m not 1a.m. The staff ignored you and smoke whilst on duty.

The rooms are basic - they do what they are there for, a bed and a shower. However the maids do a fairly good job and you do get clean sheets and towels daily. The curtains have seen better days as there are more holes than material.

The bakery around the corner sells a fantastic variety of cakes and the bars are quite near, the only problem is they are spaced too far apart. The restaurants on the strip offer lots of variety and it is all fairly cheap, 2 meals and drinks is roughly £20.00.

The beach is close but the sand is black, you can catch the number 30 bus if you don't want to walk or catch a taxi as they are cheap enough too. There isn't really much to see in the day time as everyone tends to stay by the pool or do day trips so hire a car. Be careful as you will get collared by people who want you to scratch cards and then you will get dragged off to some office in the hope that you'll part with your money for a holiday home.

On the whole we would visit Limassol again but not the Old Bridge, just as well they've sold it to the Russians!

If you are offered this hotel don’t take it. Worst hotel ever, the food is cold; you get the same meal every night.

There are more holes in the curtains than there is material. They have private parties outside and you get notification of these two hours before.

If you order a drink from the outside bar and they haven't got it they will not fetch it from the other bar as it might possibly be closed. There is no night time entertainment but it is advertised in the brochure.

The bar does not shut at 1a.m as stated, it shuts at 11p.m. The staff ignore you and would prefer to talk amongst themselves.

The rooms now are not very clean the bedding has seen better days. There are cockroaches all over the place.

The food is not very nice unless you like raw meat hard potatoes and mouldy bread.

Breakfast for 14 days, the beans were cold, the scrambled eggs was burned, no-one would eat it. They replaced it with boiled eggs that they reheated. They were warm on the outside and cold in the middle. To make toast you have to put it through the toaster 3x to make look like toast.

The plates and cups are chipped. What was a nice hotel has gone to ruin.

In my advice travel agents should keep away from this place.

Although only a 2 star hotel, its facilities and service are excellent. The food in particular was first class, with a great buffet in the evenings.

Have previously stayed in 3 and 4 star hotels and the food in this hotel can be easily compared with them, if not better. Staff are very friendly and the hotel's location is ideal, only 3 minutes walk from the tourist area and 5 from the beach.

Was also impressed by the room service provided, very clean and efficient. Would recommend it to anyone and would certainly revisit.

The Old Bridge was the worst hotel where I have ever stayed.

When we arrived the beds had not been changed from the previous occupants. Even when they were changed the bedclothes were worn and ill fitting. There is a general air of decay and dereliction about the place as witnessed by the dirt in the corridors, poor level of cleaning and widespread disintegration of the ceiling and wall plaster.

We dined in the restaurant on one evening and for the remainder of the visit we used to local restaurants. The reason should be obvious

The high level of building work in the vicinity of the hotel created an unacceptably high level of dust which permeated into every area of the place.

Hi. I would first like to say how absolutely appalling and disgusting the rooms and staff are at the Old Bridge Hotel located in Limassol in Cyprus.

It is not as if I have asked to be put in a shoddy 2* hotel. I thought I was off to a romantic hotel in the heart of Cyprus, but obviously not.

The beds are of a poor standard and the colour is putrid. MAGNOLIA!!!!! Why would someone put MAGNOLIA in a room? The food is disgusting. It all tastes raw and uncooked. And the nightlife within the hotel is dull and unexciting.

Even the staff think its pointless, I saw many of them yawning and smoking on duty!!

I'm off to Paphos next year so hopefully that wont be as bad as this!!

The Old Bridge Hotel is named as a 2 star, this would be an accurate rating for the rooms, which could do with an upgrade, however the pool area and the food were more of a 3 star standard. The evening meals in particular were of a high standard and the carvery style insured there was no shortage.

Each night there would be a choice of 5 types of salad, 4 choices of meats/fish and 3 types of vegetables. The potatoes were the nicest I ever ate on holiday. There was also 2 choices for desert.

The hotel is clean and I found the staff to be courteous and helpful. It always helps if you have a conversation/laugh with the reception staff on the first day or two, they usually will then give you the inside track on the best places/prices in the resort.

The 24 hour bakery 100 metres down the road has to be seen to be believed. I have never encountered such an array of the most delicious pies, cakes, rolls etc..

The strip itself is ok, a bit two drawn out for my liking and the beaches are not the best. The Welcome Inn is a friendly Irish pub, much more homily then the larger Step Inn. The old town is quaint and its adjoining Water Park is very good.

I would advise people to hire a car and tour the island, which is really beautiful. The people are very friendly and the road system is excellent (they drive on the right side of the road).

Nicosia is well worth a visit, as is Paphos via Aphrodite’s rock.

We spent a day in Ayia Napa, which I really enjoyed. If you like the sea, then take the "Yellow Submarine" trip. It was the most enjoyable thing ever! trust me.

8km up the road from Ayia Napa is the resort of Protaras.

If I were to return to Cyprus, this is where I would go. It is within striking distance of the Ayia Napa nightlife and it has the most beautiful golden beach.

All in all, Cyprus is a magnificent island and well worth a trip, be advised though, it is a fair bit more expensive then Spain/Greece/Balearics.

This hotel is in a good position in Limassol about a 5min walk to the main road where there are plenty of pubs/restaurants.

The hotel rooms and public areas are very clean and the pool area is well maintained. We were there in November and the swimming pool water was freezing it would have been nice if it was heated during winter months. The hot food at breakfast and dinner wasn't that hot and things like baked beans or pasta would almost be cold by the time you had finished your meal. The range of food was good but I don’t think there was a lot of choice for kids. Drinks were pretty cheap a pint of local beer 'KEO' was CY£1.50 which tasted a bit like Fosters.

We found the staff at the hotel not to be that friendly and the waiting staff acted like everyone was an inconvenience to them. If you stay half board they have a good idea in that you can substitute dinner for lunch this lets you go out for dinner to have a nice hot meal! We done this a few times and is also good if you go on an organised trip such as a 'Cyprus night'.

There are TVs in the rooms but the channels are local and unless you understand Greek they might as well not be there.

Having said all of the above we would go back there!

This hotel was just a 2* and from reviews I read before I went on holiday it sounded terrible.

I just want to let people know that this hotel was brilliant and we had a great holiday.

When we arrived I was dreading the quality of the rooms and the food. However the rooms were clean enough and liveable, definitely 2* standard though. The food was absolutely great lots of variety, with a continental breakfast also including a different element of a fry up each day. Dinner was great lots of food to eat, one night there was an Italian night, which was great, although not much children friendly food. The food was that good that I believe it was of 3* standard.

The outdoor pool area was lovely, really clean area and a really great area to sunbath, even in March!

The restaurant and bar staff we’re really friendly and made a real effort to cater for peoples needs especially bringing out cakes on peoples birthdays. However reception staff weren’t overly friendly and didn’t take any blame for problems that were obviously their fault.

I thought so much of this hotel that I have booked another holiday in another 2* hotel in Majorca in June, Will let you know how I get on.

One final note, don’t believe all the reviews you read go there with an optimistic mind and you will have a great time!!

Basic accommodation but certainly clean and well up to its 2 star rating. Food was excellent but not warm enough if you ate later on in the evening.

The bar prices were, surprisingly, cheaper in the hotel than they were out in the local pubs and clubs. The pool area looked really nice but we were unable to take advantage as Cyprus experienced their worst February climate in years. Staff were friendly but not overly so and service was very good.

All in all, the hotel was very good value for money and you will be equally as happy as long as you don’t expect 4 star accommodation for 2 star money.

The hotel was clean but very basic. I read about the hospitality of Cypriots before going but I didn’t see any, especially from the waiting staff. The food was appalling. The toast had to go through the toaster several times before it was remotely toast and every bit of chicken I picked up was pink. Also the area it was in was very untidy and was mainly wasteland.

A brilliant hotel with the some of the friendliest people/staff you could ever meet. The variety of food was great with some really delicious meals. There is something for everyone. It is close to some really good night clubs, which are open to all hours, such as the basement. You get to meet different people as people go from all over the world. After being there for 2 weeks it makes you not want to go home. I would go again.

This hotel is great - we went over Christmas / New Year and we were made to feel 100% at home and welcome. Food was great - something for all. Management and bar staff were great and did not mind us partying until the early hours of Christmas Eve into Christmas Day - the boss of the hotel was leading the conga around the hotel!!

We are going back to the Old Bridge in August 2004 as we enjoyed it that much. During December it was too cold for the swimming pool - but it looked great - we are looking forward to using it during August.

The location is great - just a 5 min walk to the "Strip" where you can sample Limassol nightlife to your hearts content, knowing you only have a short stroll or stagger (after too much of the local beer/brandy!) back to your hotel!

Overall great hotel - hence why we are going back!!!!!
