Rooms very tired, service poor, sometimes no cutlery or glasses available at meal times. Definitely not 5 star status, very disappointing wouldn’t visit again.
Ordered drinks from bar and on several occasions waited up to 45 mins for them to appear. There were also coach parties staying at the hotel which meant the staff in the dining room struggled to cope with the numbers at dinner.
Overall not an enjoyable experience and very disappointing considering had previously stayed at the hotel and found it very enjoyable.

I booked accommodation to stay for 1 night only while my friend was over in Limassol on holidays.
I've lived in Limassol district for 4 years since moving here from the UK.
I booked a single room with Expedia at the last minute and got a great deal as I received a free Evening Meal so got Half Board for Bed & Breakfast price. I paid £52 to stay on 23 December 2006.
The room was very nice, with a mini-bar, the usual giveaway toiletries, shower slippers and nice thick, white dressing gown. The heating in the room was very good - as I always feel the cold during the winter months after our very hot summer temperatures.
Breakfast had lots of choice, including my favourite - Pancakes!
The evening meal was very good and was buffet service.
The outdoor pool area and terraces are lovely and the services and amenities of this hotel are great. Totally in keeping with the hotel rating.
If there was one complaint - I would say it's now about time they did start to do some minor refurbishments to the carpeting in the corridors and to some of the rooms. I've been visiting my friend over her last 4 visits and think it's time the management started to spend a little money inside now - rather than just on the outside.
I would certainly stay here again.

My husband and I stayed for 2 weeks early October 06 having holidayed in Cyprus on numerous occasions in the past. The Apollonia Beach was a hotel we wanted to try, having stayed near by some years ago, and thinking the Apollonia was a "posh" hotel at that time. There were numerous little niggly things which made us realise that standards had certainly slipped.
The overall holiday was extremely enjoyable, largely due to lovely weather (apart from a few spectacular thunder storms, and one day with torrential rain for a couple of hours!), some really nice fellow guests, and excellent food.
The complaints we had were:
1. Meal times - sometimes buffet, sometimes a la carte, but you did not know which. Usually no one to show you to a table, some staff extremely friendly and efficient, but some quite the opposite.
Having to search the dining room for salt/pepper, sugar at breakfast, never one to a table.
Some guests even had to stand and wait for a free table at dinner, and a ridiculous system of queuing to sign for dinner wine etc. after the meal.
Rooms extremely clean, linen changed daily, but never enough milk/tea bags. When ringing to ask (pleasantly) for more, waiting for over an hour for it to be delivered.
Prices of drinks - absolutely ridiculous. Even a pot of tea or coffee by the pool for 2 people, over £C5.00, and it consisted of 2 tea bags, or 2 sachets of coffee, and a pot of hot water! Alcoholic drinks - sky high prices, happy hour being between 9.30 and 10.30, so a wait after dinner for cheap drinks! Luckily we are not big drinkers, or our bill would have been un-believable.
2. Outside garden area - Beautiful setting, right on the beach, but beware, a very deep pool. Sun loungers, comfortable, but mattresses left out all the time, so consequently moldy and dirty.
No waiter service by the pool. The pool bar staff would bring drinks to you, but we had to go to the bar to order. Also no mention of extremely noisy building work on going, right next door.
3. Sparse entertainment! One night there was a short demonstration of Cyprus dancing in the dining room, another night a short demonstration of Cyprus dancing in the bar area. Some nights a guy singing and playing a key board. Altogether very low key, which probably suits most of the guests, whose average age incidentally would be around the 60 mark!
4. Maid service - on the whole good, but maids did have a tendency to let themselves in without knocking, and the "Night Service", every evening when we were getting ready for dinner, seemed a joke. 2 chocolates and a form for room service, handed to you (if you got to the door in time before they came in), no turning down of the bed, or fresh towels.
Overall, the hotel could do with an overhaul, some decorating/painting and a shake up of management to see that their 5* rating is sadly lacking, compared to other hotels in the area. We will not be returning to the Apollonia, unlike many of the elderly guests who have been returning for over 20 years (and demand special treatment!)
The main dual carriageway right outside the front of the hotel is a race track day and night for powerful cars and motor bikes, roaring up and down. We were constantly amazed that no accidents occurred whilst we were there!
Finally, sorry to Steve and Lita, we must have missed you by 5 minutes, to say goodbye.

Staff friendly and helpful, room clean and functional, someone should show Greek hotels North American showers. Need a code book to make the air conditioning function, but after programmed worked very well, excellent stay, food good, speciality restaurants have excellent food and menus, but underbooked, so check availability. Beach and pool very good, Pina coladas local variation but not bad. Grounds very well maintained and beautiful. Close to shopping and bus to town #'s 1 or 6 to end of line @ Euro 1.10 each way. For laid back trip where you can unwind, great place.

I booked with Thomson and was surprised to end up in Limassol as I was told I'd booked an allocation on arrival in Paphos deal!
Anyway, I was not too impressed with Limassol itself. It is a busy place, much more developed than Paphos. However, the hotel is set back somewhat from the road, and although we could hear the traffic and some music etc., it did not keep us awake.
We were half board at the hotel, and I would recommend it. It probably isn't 5* to British 5* standards, but it was still very good accommodation. The room was large and clean. Beach towels were provided each day as well as bath towels.
The food was very good. I was there for one week and one evening they would have a buffet followed by an alternative night where there is a set menu. The buffet evenings are themed, e.g. Cypriot night, Italian night and is of good quality and choice. You can help yourself to what you want and the chef is always on hand if you wish to ask any questions which I thought was particularly good, especially for fussy eaters or those with special dietary preferences. Breakfast is served outside and there is a choice of hot food such as bacon, eggs, beans etc. as well as toast, various breads, fruit and yoghurt.
The hotel also has a Greek and Japanese a la carte restaurant and we could have paid a bit extra to try the food at one of these. However, the food was very good at the usual restaurant so we stuck with it.
Pool was very nice and sun beds always available.
My only complaint if I were to be nitpicky is that I found the bar area and the outside breakfast area quite smoky. I do not know what the Cypriot laws are in relation to smoking so this is probably normal wherever you go, but the only thing I found unpleasant is the smell of peoples' cigarette and cigar smoke, particularly when eating at breakfast.
Overall I would not return to Cyprus again as I feel I have seen enough in a week. The hotel and food was very good, although I think I would have got bored with it if I were there for more than 2 weeks.
However, overall a good hotel, particularly good for couples and best of all. no children allowed!

Our hotel was classed as a five star in the brochure and in decor, we felt that it was once a five star now more a three or four that needs a lick of paint to recreate this however in ambience, service and cleanliness a definite five given. The staff were wonderful, really friendly and welcoming and I loved the choccie on ya pillow at night - what a touch!!
Private beach and not many children and 5 mins walk to local restaurants and bars so for a young couple it was perfect. We were all inclusive and the food was excellent as the food and drinks (local only mind) were so plentiful and all inclusive hotel cost reasonable we didn’t feel guilty having two nights out in a local restaurant as well. Great as hate that trapped feeling of an all inclusive in some hotels.
Limassol was very quiet which suited us to perfection after a hard working slog but restaurateurs say they are getting 40% of tourists that they did last year so if its nightlife you want, it doesn’t seem the place to be this summer. I particularly enjoyed the culture and history of the old town and the excursions Thomson’s offered were excellent.
Overall a wonderful holiday.

We have been to this hotel twice now and are going back again this year, in June for 4 weeks.
Its just like being at home but better weather and people. The hotel and staff are amazing, they cannot do enough for you. I cant wait to get back there. You have no worries of getting a sun bed etc.
They always have plenty, I always said I would not go to the same place twice but you know where you are with these wonderful people. Jacqui.

Just come back from this hotel and it was lovely. The hotel is lovely and all the staff are so friendly and helpful. We met lots of people who were on their 12th time to this hotel!
The location is nice, not too close to the main bars etc but within easy walking distance.
Definitely would go back!
