Nice stay
This hotel deserves the greatest rate available. The location is fantastic, just around the corner in Times Square. The rooms are very nice, elegant and modern. And for whatever need you might have, very kind personnel is ready to assist you. Not to mention every morning a copy of the New York Times will be ready for you in front of your room door. Book with confidence, you won't regret it.
What a joke!
While renovating our apartment, we decided to stay at the Time. Not sure why! This place tries too hard to be "eclectic", while forgetting that good customer service can be far more rewardng to the hotel then trying to be cool. And for the hefty price you pay, you should definitely go somewhere else where your money will serve you better.Rethink staying at the Time Hotel. We considered the good reviews, but little did we know we'd be writing a BAD one!
Uh Oh!
OH MY GOD! Why on earth didn't I listen to the other reviews on here? Maybe it was because I'd booked this "hotel" before finding this site! Where shall i begin? Surly guy behind main desk on check in. Shabby, tatty, dirty rooms (tried a few!) Lucky I didn't take my cat with me because I wouldn't have been able to swing it! What an absolute waste on money. Luckily you don't spend too much time in your room when in NYC or we would have had cabin fever by day 4! Everything was just sooooooo below average whaich was totally masked by the... more
the Worst
I booked us at the Time because we needed to find a place centrally located in the Theater district. Wish I had read the reviews in this column first! Our room was so small it made us claustrophobic, and was poorly decorated despite the hype about the cutting-edge decor, and the blinds and shades were beginning to shred. Our A/C did not work -- the room was stifling all night, and the bathroom was more like a stall. The restaurant downstairs, Oceo, was a huge ripoff. Minuscule portions at ridiculously high prices, and some of the... more
A Great Time in NY
Our four night break at The Time (22nd - 26th March) helped to make it an excellent short break in NY. The staff were courteous and friendly, helpful when approached and could not be faulted. The themed room we were given was clean and functional, exactly the photo we'd seen in the brochure! The rooms are a little on the small side but in NY you don't spend a great deal of time in the room anyway. It's only real fault is that it only has two lifts that go to all floors and at busy times you may have to wait a few minutes for the lift to get... more
A Trendy Hotel
We stayed at The Time 02/20/04 - 02/22/04 and had a wonderful time. The decor of the hotel is very hip and trendy, and while it may not be in the same league as The Drake, or other 5-star luxury hotels, you're not paying the $$$$$ for The Drake. The hotel staff was extremely courteous and friendly. The rooms were decorated in an IKEA-esque fashion, and were extremely interesting. The hotel's location couldn't have been more convenient. We can't wait to go back!
Good for Short Stays
The hotel is located within walking distance to many attractions which was nice. When we arrived, there was of construction going on. The lobby and ground level were blocked off for renovations. The hotel room was small but adequate for short stays. The hotel had some interesting features, a tv monitor in the hall ways outside of the elevators, color themed rooms and cartons of eggs under the glass elevator on the first floor. Upon arriving we were offered 2 different themed rooms. The room itself was small but sufficient, however the... more
Do not stay here...Read why
Please do not stay here. You will regret it. The service is horrible and the rooms are even worse. Everything is beyond slow and all the areas in the hotel are dirty. The staff only knows RUDE, not nice. It is a prime location if you are wanting to be near Time Square, but there are many other hotels around that area that are much better and some even cheaper. The photos may look nice (hence why i picked this hotel), but the hotel does not look like them once you get there. The bar is happening place but its SLOW and EXPENSIVE and DIRTY.... more
Don't stay here if....
This hotel is not a classy place. I booked a room here because the pictures looked nice, and it seemed different and fun. The rooms are small and the place looks cheap and dirty. It's kind of funky if you are younger and can save money by staying here. I went with my mom and was so embarassed that we switched hotels. The toilet was broken and overflowing and we had a view of a brick wall. We stayed in a MUCH nicer, cleaner place for not that much more money right around the corner. We also had a dispute about cancelling for... more
Cheap and fake!
This place tries to be trendy. But it is only surface thing. Everything in this place, they look like modern, but actually they are very, very cheap and fake stuffs. I am so disappointed. Much better to go to middle class chain hotels (holiday-in, howard johnson, travelodge etc...) Do not go to small moderate price trendy butique hotels, most of times they are fake and cheap. This is from my experiences.
