Sheraton Hotel New York

Most of the reviews paint a accurate picture of what this hotel is like. I got a bargain room from priceline.com, and I'm not unhappy with the room I was given. However, the room was not plush. It was small and a little rough around the edges. The vanity had a little chipped paint, and there was peeling wallpaper in our bathroom. The room was dimly lit. Though originally from NYC this was the 1st time staying in a hotel in NYC. I was very pleased. The room was nicer than expected. Wonderful view of Times Square. The staff couldn't be nicer or do more for you. Highly recommended. I have tried other places since my stay here and am convinced this is the best place to stay for service and location!

Do not expect a 4-star quality if you booked the room on a discount site. I paid a cheaper than usual rate ($200/night) and eneded up with a dark, smelly, dungy room with a worn-out furniture and a very stained carpet. Some Motels 6 have better accomodations... When asked at the reception if they could find me a better room, I was told that this is what all the discounted rooms were like. My husband and I took our first vacation in years and stayed at the Sheraton due to a good deal on Expedia. I was very disappointed in the room. When the A/C came on, it sounded like a train going through. The room was so small, after a couple of days, it was becoming a chore to go back to the room. Even getting a good deal on Expedia wasn't that good for the quality room we got. Next time I'll pay more and stay at a better hotel.

Stayed there for 3 nights last week. Location is just unbeatable, on 7th Av. and 52nd st, can you imagine better? Social areas very cosy and stylish, fanatstic rooms, even though not very spacious, but it´s NY, great beds, immaculate bathroom, all in very good style and design. It is not a boutique hotel, it has all the fuss of the big hotels in NY, but for me NY is also that. I strongly advise this hotel and would stay there again in my next time in NY. Just got back from the Sheraton NY Hotel and Towers after four days at a conference there. Most reviews are accurate. It is a nicely-decorated hotel even if the rooms are a bit small. But hey, it's NYC - everyone's room is small. The hotel staff were friendly and helpful, however the lobby is a complete zoo at almost all hours of the day. I got a great deal at Hotwire, and that is the only reason I wasn't really upset for staying at the Sheraton. The room was small, and I've got an extra bed even though I didn't want one!! As far as services, forget about it! The Concierge is totally useless. I was explained that this was not my first time in NY and therefore, I wanted to do something out of the traditional tourist "thing"...Guesss what she recommended me? The double-decker bus tour!!!!

Long and short, they do not care and they won't fix any problem, nor will they respond to written complaints. Save your self a lot of grief and stay somewher else.

This is an overpriced , unorganized hotel. They kept telling us we did'nt pay for the room when we were checking out, yet I had to prepay for the rate I got over the internet. The room was much to hot and you could'nt control the heat so we splept with the window open in Febuary and had to hear the street noise all night. The coffee maker did'nt work in the morning and I needed coffee from the lousy nights sleep so I had to order the outrageously priced pot of coffee from room service. I stayed at this hotel for one night. The bed was great and made for a good nights rest. The view of the city was nice too. The room was very small and the tv and stand looked like it should've been in a highway short-stay motel. The bathroom was extra tight with the comode just too, too, too close to the bathtub. Not nice for the price.
