After reading a few of the reviews,...
10 / 10
Oct 2007, Mr DA Cellier

After reading a few of the reviews, my girlfriend and I were a bit unsure what we would find.
On arrival I was very impressed with how clean everything was and although it was 5am all the staff were helpful and very polite, even though the bar had shut they opened it and got us both a drink!
The whole complex is spotless and the staff work very hard cleaning it all day. The pools are clean and the pirate ship slides are good fun.
The food is fantastic, there is so much choice. You can tell that some is mass produced but the majority so is tasty and plenty of it. There a four different restaurants to use on an evening (you have to pay for the Chinese) and they are all very well run and are worth visiting.
The drinks were good, a very broad range of drinks and the majority of bar staff were very friendly and happy to serve you especially the pool bar and the beach bar!
My girlfriend and I have travelled all over the world and stayed in a variety of places. This is one of the best. I suppose it would have been different if we would have visited during peak season as the complex was only about half full.
A lot of people have left negative reports and I think these people must have really looked hard for something to complain about or they were very unlucky. I would recommend the Kipriostis Holiday Village to anyone and would not think twice about returning here!

We have just returned from the hotel,...
7 / 10
Oct 2007, Miss E Lewis

We have just returned from the hotel, a couple aged 27 & 30. We booked this holiday through teletext, paid £400 each for 10 nites, we thought we got a good deal. The hotel is quite big, there is 3 restaurants in witch you can eat at the evening, there was always salad, cheese, chips, pasta, they always have a fish, chicken, lamb dish and large selection of pudding in the main one. The Greek one does the same but different sauces, the Italian does great pizza. the selection of drinks at the bar is brilliant. Although they are all local brands, I only drink Malibu (they had a local one which tasted just as good) or cocktails, you had a choice of about 6 and they did a cocktail of the day which was one that wasn't on the list, but you can buy known brands if you want.
There isn't great evening entertainment, there's bingo at 9 every nite then an hour of light entertainment, like dancing comp, music quiz, sketch show, they where ok, they finish by 11ish then all there is to do is drink in one of the 2 bars. Gets boring after a few nights.
There was mixed nationalities, German, French and English (when we were there, there was at least 20 English), we did not have any problems at all, there was loads of sunbeds, didn' t have to wait at the bar to get severed.

You can get a bus into Kos Town for 1.10euro each, there isn't much there, bars, restaurants, few shops selling same stuff and a handful of clothes shops. Had the most amazing meal opposite the harbour 'Restaurant n Skool' I think its called, its the restaurant of the Kos Hote , excellent value to 50euros for 3 starters, 2 main, 3 beers and 1/2 litre of wine.
We went to the hot spring, boring if your there all day, you can get there yourself on bus 5. The sunset at Zia is worth going to, you can either sit in a restaurant and watch it , or there's a bend in the road where you get the best view, I suggest stand there and watch it then walk up the road to the Olpimac restaurant, better menu, snail, wild boar, more than the other restaurants who just serve same old chicken and fish.
Must admit the beach isn't the best, for a nice beach hire a car and head for Tigaki about a 20 min drive but nice whiteish sand.

The weather was very good 25 most days, rained on the last day, even saw a little twister, if you like drinking all nite then this hotel is great for you, or if you have small children and want a break as there's a kids club in the day. It's not as bad as some of the people say, but we did go out of season so there wasn't loads of people there. If you do use the phones you need to press 9 first , the hotel reception staff weren't very helpful in telling us this!

Please do not go to this hotel, it is...

Oct 2007, Mrs Nicola Howells

Please do not go to this hotel, it is not what it seems. We had a dreadful holiday from start to finish, the room was terrible. The food was not fit to eat, the drink we couldn’t drink - we had two weeks of hell.
It was like being in Blackpool every day at peak season. We just wanted to come home after the first week and if we could have got a flight we would have.
If you are German you will do well at this hotel, every British family we talked to felt the same. Just dreadful.

Beautiful resort, lots for the kids...
8 / 10
Sep 2007, Mr K Brady

Beautiful resort, lots for the kids to do, choice of food was good - could have more of a choice to choose from. Entertainment for kids during the day and at night was perfect with the animation team. The only disappointment at night was for the adults with kids who would like to see a disco for both kids and adults to mix till late 1pm etc... as after 11pm families with kids were left sitting at the pool bar just drinking, as they could have been still dancing in the cocktail bar. I also noticed people putting there towels out in the morning at 7am which I thought was not fair.
As I am from Scotland, I would just like to say a big hello to the animation team and the staff of the Kipriotis Village, and thank you from myself and my family for having a great time.

This hotel is busy! Very busy!...
5 / 10
Aug 2007, Mrs C A  Parker

This hotel is busy! Very busy! Firstly they over booked and we didnt actually get into our rooms until day 5 of our holiday. They put us in another hotel (Iberostar Bay View) initially.
The resort itself was ok, not particularly well maintained. The standard rooms are pretty rubbish but because of the mess they made with our booking they upgraded us to an executive room. These were "ok". The bathrooms were a little grubby, i think the maids cleaned the obvious but the floor was always dirty. The air con didnt work that well.
On our first day we emptied the bath water and it all came up through the drain (along with goodness knows what). The cold water tap didnt work in the sink. There were ants in the doorway.
The food was dreadful. If you like chips you will be ok! We did not have one hot meal whilst there for a fortnight. You had to queue all the time becuase they were too slow at replacing empty dishes of food. Pasta every day, along with chips and various non descript dishes. Nothing for children even though they boast a childrens selecton in the brochure and web site. You had to help yourself to drinks in the restaurants including hot drinks at breakfast (but they were never hot).
The pool areas were ok but if you wanted a sun bed you had to be up and down with towels before 7am! Bear in mind there were in excess of 300 beds so dont expect a lie in! The childrens pool was tiny and parents crammed as many sun beds into the area as possible making it impossible to see your child from the side.
Our initial reaction about the hotel itself was "blackpool with heat". The best part of the resort was the animation team for me as they looked after and entertained my 4 year old wonderfully. There was always something going on during the day and I feel the young staff members genuinley enjoyed being with children. However, the evening entertainment was not to our liking, Men dressing up as women, men wearing nappies.... not what I would call family entertainment.
Everyone has different standards and I think mine are quite high but for £3800 for a family of 4 I would expect a better service, certainly better food and not to be dumped in another hotel becuase of hotel error!
I would not recommend this hotel to friends due to the food and the sheer quantity of holiday makers at the resort. I would not visit another Iberostar or Kipriotis hotel.

We have just returned from the...

Jul 2007, Mr Richard Cunningham

We have just returned from the Kipriotis Village and overall it was ok the rooms are clean, towels and sheets are changed regular the tv has only 1 English channel though, the air con is a bit noisy but is a must in July and the amenities are good.

We found the food was very repetitive and the quality so so also if you go in the Chinese you have to pay but it doesn't tell you that in the brochure. The hotel has a lovely terrace area near the bar but was spoilt by children running wild most nights, making this area for over 18s only would be excellent.

Entertainment on an evening was not very good they had no good shows on, although the animation team work so hard it could do with some quality shows.
If you go with Airtours the rep who was there was no use, all they do is try and sell you excursions which are half the price if you go into town which is only a short bus ride and is only a euro.
The animation team are there during the day and get you involved in all the activities Dani and Sergio are two smashing lads. I would go back again, there a just a few niggles that need sorting and this could be a really nice place try it!

I would not doubt if it turned out to...
1 / 10
Jul 2007, Mrs G Vereschagina

I would not doubt if it turned out to be one of the worst hotels on the island:
1) The reception desk is very unprofessional; they keep your passport and credit card for 3-4 daysto make a copy of them.
2) The rooms are in very poor condition: the air conditioning, the TV and the phone do not work in most of them (many of my friends stayed there at the same time as me, so we could compare our rooms).
3) The hotel is located on one of the worst beaches on the island (dusty, dirty, windy, and very wavy).

4) Food is not good: breakfast is ok, but don't waste your money on all inclusive package, you would be much better off eating in any of the places outside of the hotel.
5) There is NO internet! They sell wireless card for 8 Euros/hour, which you can use only in the lobby, and the connection proved to be very unstable.
On the positive side:
1) The maid service is excellent.
2) The hotel's location next to the town of Kos is very convenient (15 minutes bike rides, bikes are available everywhere for 4 Euros a day).
3) The hotel has a conference centre (probably, the only one on the island);

But even if you are coming there for the conference, you probably should consider staying somewhere else.

I went on this holiday with a family...
8 / 10
Apr 2007, Miss C Chivers

I went on this holiday with a family ranging from the ages of 6 up to 58, and we were all really pleased with the accommodation.
It was a huge complex with a number of swimming pools, 2 restaurants and 2 shops. It is also right near the beach although the beach itself is not that great.
We went All Inclusive and the food was amazing, although breakfast did get a bit boring with the same things on offer every morning.
The thing that actually made the holiday so special were the entertainment staff, they were really friendly to everyone and there was something for everyone to do whether night or day, the younger children loved the mini disco in the evenings and the comedy for the adults was absolutely hilarious.
I would recommend to anyone.

This is by far one of the best...
9 / 10
Feb 2007, Miss Lb Ballam

This is by far one of the best Village resorts I have visited. Honestly I question why the reviews are so poor.
Now that the hotel is 100% all inclusive this is a perfect family holiday.
The kids were always occupied as the hotel provided an excellent animation team, who were absolutely brilliant.
The night life was superb, but they possibly lack entertainment for younger adults as no regular disco/ club, only once a week.
The pool was wonderful and the bar staff were pleasant.
The food wasn't amazing, just what you expect from an all in resort.
The only down side of the resort was that there we a lot of Dutch and German people that were some what rude on some occasions.
The cleaning staff were very efficient, as we always had clean towels and bed covers.
I would strongly recommended to young families that just want a care free relaxing holiday!

If you want the Ritz, then don't stay...
9 / 10
Oct 2006, Mr T Ericson

If you want the Ritz, then don't stay here, but, if you want a value for money holiday, then ignore all the bad reviews. It seems that we British are following the American example by wanting revenge for petty problems.
So, the holiday, it was great, I was a little unsure after the reviews I read for 'My Travel', but the aircraft was an A321 which had a reasonable amount of leg room, (better than some I could mention), and simple but ample food, plus the cabin crew were nice, friendly and helpful.
The hotel was clean with the room cleaned every day and all towels replaced, and we never put the sign on the door. The bed was a bit hard though add the air conditioning in our room looked the business, but didn't cool the air, but we were there in October so it wasn't a problem
No one was rude to us, all the Greek people were really lovely. The reception were great as my wife had injured her knee and they loaned us a wheelchair for the whole holiday.
Breakfast is the same each day, being a bit to spicy for me. Lunch is great with an out door BBQ, (no burgers though) and the main restaurant to choose from. There is also an ice cream and a snack bar with just sandwiches etc. At 5:00 p.m., go to the main bar as that is when then bring out the most amazing cakes.
The evening food was a bit boring for the first 2 days, but after that it was great, really good for all inclusive. The Italian a la carte was just a buffet but the food was good, we didn't try the Greek.
The bar is free for AI from 11:00 a.m. until 12 midnight, but stays open until 2:00 a.m. At first , the bar staff seem to be miserable, as they can't look up while serving someone as the Germans would give them their order and then expect to be served next. But when they do look at you, they are really friendly. I know I was all inclusive, but tipping these hard working people soon got their respect, and a drink.
There are 5 pools, one of which is Olympic size, with the lanes roped off for the serious swimmer, although it is only open from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m., then 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. At the centre of the main pool is a giant galleon with 2 great slides coming out of it.
The beach is a credit to them, there is a quiet road to cross, but as it is a dead end, there is very little traffic. I went snorkeling and found quiet a few interesting fish. Try the beach bar, the bar tender is really friendly.
If you want to see the town, which you really should, it's about 30 minutes walk, but the buses run every 15 minutes and are really cheap. We didn't have to pay to see the relics there as it was all open plan.
There are a lot of German people in the hotel, but I soon found that if you talk to them and have a laugh, they soon join in, I think it is because they like to practice their English, so who better to practice on.
We are a middle aged couple with a grown up family, but if you have kids, you will love this hotel and will have a great time.
One final note, while out touring, we met Vasilles, one of the bar staff and he invited us to the local taverna for a drink and to meet his friends, how friendly is that. We fell in love with all of the Greek people.

My uncle and I stayed here as part of...
2 / 10
Jul 2006, Ms C Penner

My uncle and I stayed here as part of a conference. He was there for four nights, however I had to go back to London to work after only two nights. There were a ton of kids and it was a bit "institutional", with certain dining times and group activities.
The worst was that when my uncle went to check out, they insisted on charging him for my stay for four nights. When he protested that I only stayed for two nights, they told him they didn't believe him and threatened to call the police. I had to fax them my ticket receipt and my boarding cards to verify, even after I called them from London and was clearly not in Kos.
We were both very offended at being called liars and I will never stay there again. My uncle stayed on in KOS another couple of nights after he checked out, and he found a decent apartment hotel where his room was 1/3 of the cost of Kipriotis Village.

The best hotel my family has ever...

Jan 2006, beautiful 1

The best hotel my family has ever been to. The food was amazing and very well presented. The staff were great fun and really added to our enjoyment. The shows at night were excellent and the once a week Greek show was incredible.
A choice of three pools including an Olympic sized pool away from it at the other end of the complex. We chose a larger family room as an upgrade which was excellent. So much to do and the kids clubs were great.
Kos is a beautiful island to explore and so much to see and do. The scenery is spectacular. You cant go wrong.
We are definitely going back again stunning stunning.
