Aparthotel San Eloy Reviews
" Great Family Holiday "
Submitted By: JulgilAccommodation was spacious (I was lucky and had 2 bedroomed apartment), was kept clean and towels were changed every other day.
Food was good, couldn't complain really, lots of choice. Snack bar had choice of burger, chips, hot dog, ice creams etc throughout the day.
Entertainment was OK too - the reps work really hard to put on the shows.
This hotel was absolutely great for families - probably not for couples etc who want a quieter time, but this gave me the holiday I needed and provided a secure and safe environment for my children (in my opinion).
The free bus into Tossa every hour works really well too.
If I had to find a negative point it would be that the hotel asks SUN4U customers for a €50 deposit on their room which they get back at the end of their stay - this took quite a chunk out of my budget as I hadn't been aware of this before I went. Thomson customers are not required to pay this so not sure why SUN4U customers are?
" great holiday "

Local beer was san miguel so i had a great time as well
" great holiday, great food "
Submitted By: bradytaylor2006the food was great, dont expect a 5 star restaurant as it is self service but its really nice with loads of choice.
the drinks on all inclusive are great. san migel beer which my husband likes, i was drinking the white wine, fake archers and fake malibu and all three were nice.
the entertainment was good some nights but excellent on others. they got a parrot show in one night which the kids loved. they did a lion king show on one night which everyone thought was great. the monster show was good. i cant remember the rest but there was plenty to keep your entertained.
one bad review on here where they were moaning about the entertainment saying it was appauling because she saw a man running round the stage dressed as a baby while a woman was trying to put a nappy on him. this was actually the Miss San Eloy competiton. they get 4 women to enter and they have to do silly games and the winner gets a free holiday back to san eloy. its holiday fun and i dont see why the person couldnt take it as what it is.
the hotel is remote and in the middle of no where. the free bus into tossa de mar goes every hour and only takes 10 minutes to get there. but its an all inclusive holiday so most people expect to spend alot of time at the hotel or they wouldnt have gone all inclusive.
the rooms are excellent. we had a kitchen in our apartment which was very new and modern (red gloss units) it wasnt massive for a 2 bedroomed apartment but we had enough room for the 5 of us but hardly spent any time in there at all.
in the daytime there are games for the adults and kids to play (seperate) like pool, crazy golf, darts etc.. the winners get a certificate given to them on the stage in the evening.
the layout is great. the rooms/apartments are around the outside of the complex and the two pools, kids pool, playarea and grass sunbathing area is in the middle. there was always loads of sunbeds left over so you never struggled to get one.
i cant fault the holiday at all and it is great value for money.
we went on a 4 star all inclusive to tunisia the year before and it was awful, food bad, entertainment bad, people unbeleivable rude and pushy. plus the holiday was more expensive than this.
the san eloy is great and we are going back september 09.
Advice: tossa de mar was a very pretty town with 2 different road train tours & numerous boat trips to go on
Activities: boat trips, road train trips. beautiful views from the tossa de mar beach
Good for: Beach
" So disappointed - left 2 days early! "
Submitted By: cobie123The complex is situated right on the side of a very busy main road in the middle of nowhere. There are no gates to stop small children wandering out of the complex and onto the road, you needed your wits about you at all times. The bus that takes you to the town was ok, it left every hour, but if you happen to come back at a popular time it's standing room only and you are packed on like sardines. You need to pay for the bus if you are self-catering (that was not mentioned when booking!).
There was a small, dirty concrete patio area to our apartment, not private at all, you feel like you are sat in a mass group with all your neighbours and the people above us were hanging out their wet towels to dry on the railings and we would get wet from the drips!
The hotel staff seemed very pleasant, although I believe they were getting a few complaints about the complex, we spoke to 5-6 other people who were also gutted.
The entertainment staff seemed a bunch of idiots, no-way was I going to let them take care of my 3,5 and 7 year old. One of the child entertainers was on a day off to the beach and sat in front of us on the bus with a group of her friends swearing loudly, that evening they were all hanging around the complex drinking. We did not see much of the evening entertainment although our children enjoyed the mini-disco but every night for 30 mins was very repeatitive. One night one of the entertainers was crawling on all fours around the stage, crying like a baby, as a women guest was trying to put a nappy on him..... the next night he was supposed to be dressed as a lion, then they put on a full monty show - it was all just very tacky, something that you would expect from a club 18-30's holiday but 20 years ago!
After saying all the above, it was not too bad if you could just ignore your surroundings but we couldn't so left 2 days earlier than planned - luckily we drove!
I'm sorry to be the bearer of bad news but felt that had I read this "comment" I would not have booked the San Eloy. Hope this helps someone else.
Advice: Tossa de Mar is very nice, quaint little streets with souvenir shops, gravel beach though.
Activities: The little white/blue train was value for money, 45 mins all around Tossa
" san eloy "
Submitted By: ravenhallWe went with my brother in law, his fiance and her two children (17yrs and 4yrs). We stayed for a week and all of us agreed that next time we would go for two. The rooms are basic but comfortable (all 6 of us stayed in one apartment and they were spacious enough and maid service was good).
Food is great, ive stayed in 4star hotels before now and not had as much choice as we did here, its all cooked and presented well, and there is always something for the kids if you have a fussy eater with you!
The views are great even though you are not near the beach, the countryside setting is stunning, word of advice, if you climb the mountain nearby, wear shoes with grip!!! The town is close by, about a 5minute drive away and there is a free bus that runs every hour, and the beach is only a couple of minutes away from where the bus drops you off.
There is plenty of things for the kids to do, the hotel reps have games every day and there are certificates given out to the winners at the evening entertainment.
The entertainment is great, all the staff work really hard although we did feel that a couple of the work ex girls were more up for entertaining themselves than the children. Robin is the chief entertainer and its easy to see why, he has boundless energy and he is very friendly and interacts with guests which was nice (Ladies you will LOVE him! ;)) There is quite alot of variety in the shows, we had a karaoke night, a horror show and a comedy night among others and they were all very good, and very funny! They try really hard to involve guests (children and adults alike).
This holiday is great if you have young children or if you want to relax, as there are two different pools (one where games are held and one closer to the main bar which is lovely and quiet) and they both have a shallow kiddies pool so you can keep an eye on the younger ones!
We didnt do many trips as we were quite happy to lounge around by the pool and sunbathe but i definately recommend the waterpark in Lloret de mar, there are buses to take you there but we got a taxi (cost us 35euros), if you do get a taxi anywhere, make sure you arrange for them to pick you up as it can be quite difficult getting back otherwise as we found out. Also if there are 5 or more of you definatly arrange a multi person carrier well in advance as they are in short supply!
Hope this helps everyone, we will definately be back in the near future!
" I was quite disappointed with this... "
Submitted By: Mrs CA SwarbrickThe hotel is in the middle of nowhere and there is not much to do here.
The food is very basic although there is plenty of it and the staff are very friendly and helpful.
I think one of the main problems that we had was probably nothing to do with the hotel as we had the worst sort of neighbours in the room above us. These rooms are not at all sound proofed and if you should unfortunately get the neighbours from hell then you will be able to hear everything.
It was depressing opening the curtains in the morning to the concrete forecourt area. I am sure that the rooms with pool views are much more pleasant.
I think next time I book a holiday I will do a lot more research on the hotel and not just go with the great reviews for certain hotels.
This hotel definitely deserves its 2* rating. I would not put it any higher. Its a decent budget hotel but I would pay a little extra in future to make sure that I get a good standard of accomodation.

" My partner and I booked our holiday... "
Submitted By: Miss S PetersThe main complaint people seemed to have on here was the food. I thought it was fantastic every single meal. Whoever said all there is are chips I think they may have gotten confused and gone to the wrong hotel! We had lots of both spanish and english dishes. The staff were always friendly and we never had to wait for a table.
I can see what people mean about some of the bar staff being a bit rude but most were fine. Lidia behind the main bar is really sweet and even brought us some drinks when we were watching a show even though we didnt ask!
Ok the main thing I wanted to say about this holiday was nothing about the actual hotel as it was lovely and had no problems. The biggest problem was Thompsons. Utter crap!! DO NOT BOOK ANY TRIPS WITH THEM!!! Buses didnt turn up, reps were horrible (TJ my god the woman is a joke!) Soooooo rude and arogant. We went on a medieval night out. She basically abandoned us and we had to find our own way back to the hotel and she even tried to leave people behind as she wanted to go out clubbing (the women is nearly 50 for gods sake) Go to the welcome meeting as you do find out about the local markets (be VERY careful of your purses) and also the town itself but NEVER book a trip with them. (if you do want a trip reception arranges them for a littel cheaper) We're actually trying to get our money back for that.
We're a pretty quiet young couple. There are alot of kids there but the people staying there when we went were really quiet and the kids didnt really bother us at all. We spent alot of the time at the middle sized pool at the back by the main bar as it was very quiet.
A fantastic hotel for a week (alot of people we spoke to who were staying for 2 weeks said it was way too much) when we were having our problems with the idiot reps the reception staff tried to help as much as they could even though it wasn't their job to.
One last thing our checking out time was 10am and our pick up time was 10pm. We were worried we were not going to be all inclusive for the whole day but Wilma at reception was so nice and said she would put the new arrivals in different rooms so we could still have our all inclusive meals and said we could keep our bands on. We thought this was incredabley sweet of her and she really didnt have to do it. Overall the hotel as lovely and I would go again the free bus into town every hour was also a great bonus!
I hope this helps a little.
" Well were do we start, OK we booked... "
Submitted By: Mr D HardyTalking to people not just the Brits, but people from France, Germany, Netherlands, Belgium all over, some of these have been coming for years, other are coming back next year as well, hope to bump in to a few, Hans & Family from Belgium ( hope the operation went well?, Peter from Scotland ( bloody foreigners ) Neil ( Noel ) Jude, Rachel from Blythe, Steve, Damien ( DJ ) drop me a line at brigadear@btopenworld.com .
The animation team was great, games start at 11am and finish about 12.30 ish, just in time for you lunch, the re-start at 3pm until about 5pm ish, dinner at 6.30 or just after ( this is when it starts ) then the fun begins at 8.30, with kids disco on the stage, 90% of the people attend this, the certificates are given out for the winners of the kids games and adult games, then the kids entertainment starts again until about 9.30 then the shows start at about 10.pm these are well worth staying for even with the kids, it all finishes at 12 midnight when you toddle off to bed and it all starts the next day, 2 weeks just goes so fast you will not believe how fast, not for singles or young couples unless you just want to chill and not get wasted every night, family's with kids a must, safe as houses.
The animation team work their socks to make this holiday, my hat off to to them, Robin - Netherlands, Laura- Spain, Leigh- Bradford?, Aggie the polish lass, Leticia- France, oh yes & Javi ( na na nah the fighting babies ) .
Well that's it, hope to see you next year, Leticia don't do it stay were you are.
Many Thanks Dave

Submitted By: Mrs Sjc Sue,jo,cherylRest of holiday great, would definitely go again.
Travelled to many places and stayed all inclusive before but was expecting 2 star quality. Not a chance, Bar staff great fun and cute too, bus driver into Tossa great sense of humour ( GIzmo is a bandito, think spanish for bandit), tell him we said so). If you travel thomson, make sure you visit Sonja, resort rep, really nice and had good sense of humour.
No typical lager louts throughout our stay, just fun people and lovely families, all out for a good time, espescially those that wore the crown! You know who you are!!!
