Brillant Holiday
9 / 10
Aug 2011, Brady Bunch

Me, my sister and my 10 year old daughter were at the San Eloy 06/08/11 - 16/08/11. We had a brillant time, food really good, staff friendly and entertainment was really good. We could not fault the San Eloy at all. We would recommend it and would definately be back next year. Thanks for a great holiday.

Aug 2011, happy holiday

Not the best hotel, the food was bland and tasteless, very repetitive, Maitre De was ignorant and unhelpfull, some bar staff were brilliant Sami and Lydia, others were very arrogant and ignorant ( no names ).The cleaners did their best but watch out for ants everywhere inside and outside rooms, and the birds nesting above balconies and just be aware of dogs wandering around outside building, if you plan to take your car be aware that the cctv only covers the front of the building and after 24 hours the recording is wiped so if you have an incident tell reception to give recording to police otherwise it will be wiped. Bus driver quite ignorant he will leave before his time and if you are waiting in Tossa between times even though the bus is there he will not take you back to hotel you have to wait for his next trip.

Me and my partner stayed at San Eloy for a week and im glad it was only a week! We stayed All Inclusive and its a good job we did otherwise we would have been skint after a couple of days! The food was alright but disappointing and the puddings were even worse. As it was only me and my partner ( Im 25,hes 32) we felt really out of place as this place is very child friendly. I think we were the only ones without children! The appartment was clean, although very small and basic. The cleaning lady was very nice, I felt sorry for her as it only seemed to be her cleaning all the rooms every day. We didnt go in the pool as there were to many kids about or the reps were playing water polo in there. The free hourly bus was really good. We used this a lot, just to get out of the complex. The weather was rubbish too!

We have been to the San Eloy for the past 3 years and had a great holiday everytime. The kid love it. Im looking to some new venture this year. However, the kids refuse to go anywhere else. The entertainment is a little slapstick but it works well and gets everyone going.

Me and my cousin and our kids aged 3, 4 and 7 have just returned from a weeks holiday in May! All i can say was absolutely brilliant!!!
This is supposed to be a 2 star but should defo be a 3 star plus!
All of the rooms faced onto the pool area which was great, we luckilly had a room opposite the park which was great for sitting on the balcony watching the kids, we had no fault with the rooms, they were very clean and the maid changed our bedding/towels about 4 times that week. The rooms were very modern and everything seemed quite new.
The food was really nice, there was alwyas alot to choose from and if you love seafood you will love this place, snacks are served throughout the day up until midnight and are made to order.
The reps work extremely hard keeping adults and kids entertained throughout the day, the night time shows are brilliant and i must say the performance the reps gave for the Grease show was outstanding!!! Considering it was the first time they performed it! There is something different on every night with a kids mini disco at 08:30, diplomas at 9 (if you.your kids win the games throughout the day they get a certificate which they give out on the night time)then a main show about 09:45 until 11, also music is played until midnight if you wanted to stop out a bit later.
Overall an excellent holiday and we are planning on returning in August!

We went to this hotel the last two weeks in August and we had such a great time. Please don't listen to any of the negative reviews, I think these people were booking a 2* and expecting a 5*! Everything about this hotel was great, an although it was about a mile out of Tossa there was a bus every hour so that was not an issue. The hotel rooms were nicely presented and cleaned thoroughly every day. All the staff were very helpful and friendly, the food was delicious, so much to choose from and you even got Paella once a week - yum! The entertainment staff were a credit to this hotel, led by Robin. This is a great place if you have kids. I would thoroughly recommend this hotel to anyone and think it deserves a high * rating myself. Thank you to everyone at the San Eloy! x

Great Family Holiday

This was my first holiday abroad on my own with the children so was slightly apprehensive when booking. Needed something that would give the kids lots of entertainment and would enable me to have a break too! I wasn't disappointed at all. There is lots for the children to do - tennis courts, football court, pools, small sand pit. The Reps are very good too and really encourage the kids to join in.
Accommodation was spacious (I was lucky and had 2 bedroomed apartment), was kept clean and towels were changed every other day.
Food was good, couldn't complain really, lots of choice. Snack bar had choice of burger, chips, hot dog, ice creams etc throughout the day.
Entertainment was OK too - the reps work really hard to put on the shows.
This hotel was absolutely great for families - probably not for couples etc who want a quieter time, but this gave me the holiday I needed and provided a secure and safe environment for my children (in my opinion).
The free bus into Tossa every hour works really well too.
If I had to find a negative point it would be that the hotel asks SUN4U customers for a €50 deposit on their room which they get back at the end of their stay - this took quite a chunk out of my budget as I hadn't been aware of this before I went. Thomson customers are not required to pay this so not sure why SUN4U customers are?

we stayed all inclusive and had such a great holiday we have already booked to go again in september.
the food was great, dont expect a 5 star restaurant as it is self service but its really nice with loads of choice.
the drinks on all inclusive are great. san migel beer which my husband likes, i was drinking the white wine, fake archers and fake malibu and all three were nice.
the entertainment was good some nights but excellent on others. they got a parrot show in one night which the kids loved. they did a lion king show on one night which everyone thought was great. the monster show was good. i cant remember the rest but there was plenty to keep your entertained.
one bad review on here where they were moaning about the entertainment saying it was appauling because she saw a man running round the stage dressed as a baby while a woman was trying to put a nappy on him. this was actually the Miss San Eloy competiton. they get 4 women to enter and they have to do silly games and the winner gets a free holiday back to san eloy. its holiday fun and i dont see why the person couldnt take it as what it is.
the hotel is remote and in the middle of no where. the free bus into tossa de mar goes every hour and only takes 10 minutes to get there. but its an all inclusive holiday so most people expect to spend alot of time at the hotel or they wouldnt have gone all inclusive.
the rooms are excellent. we had a kitchen in our apartment which was very new and modern (red gloss units) it wasnt massive for a 2 bedroomed apartment but we had enough room for the 5 of us but hardly spent any time in there at all.
in the daytime there are games for the adults and kids to play (seperate) like pool, crazy golf, darts etc.. the winners get a certificate given to them on the stage in the evening.
the layout is great. the rooms/apartments are around the outside of the complex and the two pools, kids pool, playarea and grass sunbathing area is in the middle. there was always loads of sunbeds left over so you never struggled to get one.
i cant fault the holiday at all and it is great value for money.
we went on a 4 star all inclusive to tunisia the year before and it was awful, food bad, entertainment bad, people unbeleivable rude and pushy. plus the holiday was more expensive than this.
the san eloy is great and we are going back september 09.

I thought I would write this review as I feel the others on here are misleading. I researched alot before booking the San Eloy, Thomson send guests there (so that's a good start) and reviews on forums say it should be a 3*, I couldn't disagree more! We are a family of 5 with 3 small children, an average working class family not snobs. On entering the complex my family and I were completely gutted, my first reaction was to stare in amazement and then I cried! It's dirty and could do with a complete refurbishment. During our stay lots of people were referring to it as the "prison" and we all went back to our "cells" at night, our neighbours sang "Jailhouse Rock" every morning. We had a ground floor 2 bed apartment which was very basic, we were also self-catering and the apartment was not equipped at all for self-catering, hardly any utensils and no kettle. The block of apartments opposite us looked like they had new kitchens though (you might be lucky enough to get one of those). We had ants in one bedroom, daily trips from a resident mouse and between 8am-10am the smell from our toilet was overwhelming, so much so that my 5 year old was heaving everytime she cleaned her teeth. Our bathroom was really grotty - black mold between all the tiles, rusty edges to the mirror and a moldy shower curtain.
The complex is situated right on the side of a very busy main road in the middle of nowhere. There are no gates to stop small children wandering out of the complex and onto the road, you needed your wits about you at all times. The bus that takes you to the town was ok, it left every hour, but if you happen to come back at a popular time it's standing room only and you are packed on like sardines. You need to pay for the bus if you are self-catering (that was not mentioned when booking!).
There was a small, dirty concrete patio area to our apartment, not private at all, you feel like you are sat in a mass group with all your neighbours and the people above us were hanging out their wet towels to dry on the railings and we would get wet from the drips!
The hotel staff seemed very pleasant, although I believe they were getting a few complaints about the complex, we spoke to 5-6 other people who were also gutted.
The entertainment staff seemed a bunch of idiots, no-way was I going to let them take care of my 3,5 and 7 year old. One of the child entertainers was on a day off to the beach and sat in front of us on the bus with a group of her friends swearing loudly, that evening they were all hanging around the complex drinking. We did not see much of the evening entertainment although our children enjoyed the mini-disco but every night for 30 mins was very repeatitive. One night one of the entertainers was crawling on all fours around the stage, crying like a baby, as a women guest was trying to put a nappy on him..... the next night he was supposed to be dressed as a lion, then they put on a full monty show - it was all just very tacky, something that you would expect from a club 18-30's holiday but 20 years ago!
After saying all the above, it was not too bad if you could just ignore your surroundings but we couldn't so left 2 days earlier than planned - luckily we drove!
I'm sorry to be the bearer of bad news but felt that had I read this "comment" I would not have booked the San Eloy. Hope this helps someone else.

My husband and i have just returned home from this hotel, and both of us thought the holiday was excellent, so much so, we are already looking at going again later in the year.
We went with my brother in law, his fiance and her two children (17yrs and 4yrs). We stayed for a week and all of us agreed that next time we would go for two. The rooms are basic but comfortable (all 6 of us stayed in one apartment and they were spacious enough and maid service was good).
Food is great, ive stayed in 4star hotels before now and not had as much choice as we did here, its all cooked and presented well, and there is always something for the kids if you have a fussy eater with you!
The views are great even though you are not near the beach, the countryside setting is stunning, word of advice, if you climb the mountain nearby, wear shoes with grip!!! The town is close by, about a 5minute drive away and there is a free bus that runs every hour, and the beach is only a couple of minutes away from where the bus drops you off.
There is plenty of things for the kids to do, the hotel reps have games every day and there are certificates given out to the winners at the evening entertainment.
The entertainment is great, all the staff work really hard although we did feel that a couple of the work ex girls were more up for entertaining themselves than the children. Robin is the chief entertainer and its easy to see why, he has boundless energy and he is very friendly and interacts with guests which was nice (Ladies you will LOVE him! ;)) There is quite alot of variety in the shows, we had a karaoke night, a horror show and a comedy night among others and they were all very good, and very funny! They try really hard to involve guests (children and adults alike).
This holiday is great if you have young children or if you want to relax, as there are two different pools (one where games are held and one closer to the main bar which is lovely and quiet) and they both have a shallow kiddies pool so you can keep an eye on the younger ones!
We didnt do many trips as we were quite happy to lounge around by the pool and sunbathe but i definately recommend the waterpark in Lloret de mar, there are buses to take you there but we got a taxi (cost us 35euros), if you do get a taxi anywhere, make sure you arrange for them to pick you up as it can be quite difficult getting back otherwise as we found out. Also if there are 5 or more of you definatly arrange a multi person carrier well in advance as they are in short supply!
Hope this helps everyone, we will definately be back in the near future!
