Submitted By: Mr P ReynoldsI took my wife, two boys (4 and 1) and the Grand Parents on a 1 week all inclusive and what a brilliant time had by all.
I booked the rooms through Holiday Nights and booked the flights seperate and got a very good deal. Thank goodness we went all inclusive as the Euro is very strong at the moment and we would have been watching our pennies very closely.
The apartment had two double bedrooms and a sofa bed in the lounge area, which proved to be ample space for us all. It was basic but very clean and the beds were very comfortable. The only complaint I could make was the shower was very hard to get right and the bath was very small (we ended up bathing every day).
The food was impecable and ALL the staff were so friendly towards both the adults and children. The children could go upto the bar and get served unlimited soft drinks and ice-cream until they popped! The pools were a bit too cold at this time of year but they were very clean. The paddling pool was ideal for our two and we would set up sun loungers right by it so they were in easy reach.
Entertainment was provided for all ages and adults through-out the day, and the evening would have a mini disco and then a show. The entertainers worked so hard and the kids loved them.
A bus service goes every hour on the hour to Tossa centre (free to all San Eloy band holders), but you can make a very relaxed 30 minute walk through the woodland at the back of the complex....you can try and walk off all that lovely food you have been scoffing.
A well deserved 10/10 and I am confused as to how they can be a 2 star, keep up the work San Eloy as we will be back.

Submitted By: Mrs J WALSHOnly slight downside is that it is a little way out of resort.bus runs hourly to and from resort(1 euro if not all inclusive) but it finishes at 9.30 at night and drinks are quite expensive if not on all inclusive. But dont let this put you off, all in all very good value I would definately visit again.

Submitted By: Mrs A BurdettClean and friendly, and loads of families that return every year. My daughter made so many friends that return year after year, and has kept in touch with them all. We are meeting 8 families again this year - like a reunion!
Loads of activities - and not just for the kids. My partner and I barely saw each other in the day what with the organised activities every hour. Football/volleyball/pool etc for him, and boules/darts/quizzes etc for me. A lovely tennis court too. Evening entertainment by the team who worked relentlessly was adequate and easy to watch whilst chilling out. We were dragged up on stage many times to join in and had such a laugh. My partner even took part in "The Full Monty" which was a scream.
Retaurant small but acceptable. Always a choice, including home made soup which was enough on a lunchtime. My daughter (15) loved the pasta and various sauces. The rooms are massive - self contained accomodation which is unusual for AI. Fridge was a blessing. Our room was kept spotless. From your balcony you can see everthing so your kids are safe. All rooms look onto the pool and gardens. You can even watch the activities from the shade of your balcony if you want to chill. TV in all rooms.
It is a good distance from Tossa so not so easy to take a walk round the shops on an evening - though we did walk there a couple of times (20 minutes) - plenty of walking into the hills if you like that sort of thing. With a courtesy bus every hour its not really a problem. And if you want to pop in for a paper or cigarettes, the driver (Gizmo) will wait for you. Fab market on a Wednesday as well.
Can't fault it - give it a try, specially if you have kids. You won't know they are there and will have a relaxing hol

Submitted By: Mrs M WynneWe've never been 2 star before, but this hotel is not a 2 star, it’s nicer than some of the 3 star hotels we've been in!
The rooms were very spacious and kept clean just how you need it!
The food in the restaurant was excellent, plenty to choose from, really good variety! The fast food bar what did toasties, burgers, chips etc was also good too, but not like the restaurant!
The pools were good and these were cleaned every day!
The entertainment team, well I don’t know when they get a break! There was 4 entertainers, during the day they entertained young children, teenagers and adults, then on a night they did a show! This was something to see really funny, they put a lot of hard work into it!
The town of Tossa we didn’t really like, it was ok for a hour or so, but the beach was stones rather than sand.
So we was glad we was out of the town really!
I and my husband and our child of 18 months really enjoyed this hotel and we would definitely go back!

Submitted By: Mrs H J HeadsThe day we arrived we went straight to the check in desk and got allocated our rooms, we went with our friends, altogether 4 adults our 2 children aged 2+4 and our friends child aged 15 months.
On booking we requested our rooms be next door to each other, as unlike a lot of people when our children are tired we put them to bed so we knew we would be able to go out on our balconies and chat and drink with our friends as none of us would leave our rooms with the kids in bed.
We got our rooms...5 balconies apart! When we got our paperwork out to show the Spanish lady behind the desk that we had requested rooms together we got BIG attitude not only from her but the other women with her,{after plenty of pushing we got rooms next to each other the next morning but they weren’t nice about it}, we then got asked for our 50 euro deposit? No mention of that on booking, then asked for our passports! These were kept in a small cubbyhole right at the front of the windowless office in full view of everyone. I don’t know about you but this is a first for me even at 5* hotels.
W then asked if we would get any help with our suitcases {as we were given rooms on floor 3, the top floor} we got "no" and a shrug of the shoulders, expect a lot of that if you are going there! Not helpful at all.
We then had to get ourselves, our children, our buggies {1 double and 1 single} and our suitcases up to our rooms.
The rooms were nice enough, it is only 2* after all, but in 10 days we got our beds changed once, they did make the beds twice other than that, and we had to ask for clean towels as up to day 5 they hadn’t been replaced.
The food was very good though and you got a good variety and the drinks were good quality not cheap tasting, you could get toasties, burgers, chips, and ice cream any time you wanted from behind the bar. the bar staff were nice.. well the 2 men were anyway.
I can’t comment on the entertainment in the evenings as our children were too tired to wait up until 8:30pm when it started.
There was plenty to do as in 3 pools a park a giant chess board a tennis court a basket ball court/football pitch a pool table {you had to pay for that} and arcade games.
There is a bus that runs every hour into Tossa de Mar that is free if you are all inclusive, NOT if you are on any other board basis, the driver gizmo was helpful if you needed to know anything but did seem to have mood swings and could be very off at times though. I can’t blame him with some of the ignorant people that he must meet.
We went to the beach a couple of days as we needed to escape the noise i.e rough families who came with their parents/sisters/brothers/wives/neighbours etc shouting at their kids and drinking from 10 am as soon as the bar opens.
Don’t get me wrong we got on with everyone, but you have to when you are stuck with them, also we like a good drink and a laugh but the whole holiday didn’t depend on our needs, as we had kids with us!
We wouldn’t go back there, in future its back to pay more and with that you are surrounded by people with manners and a little more about them than fags, drink, leave the women to look after the kids while we get drunk or shout like fishwives all day long.

If you are looking for a quiet relaxing pool holiday - you have found it. My 2 girls aged 12 and 9 loved it. We booked this to try out our first all inclusive holiday. It was by miles the cheapest holiday I have ever been on.
The accommodation itself consists of 3 storey apartments in a "U" shape, around the large main pool. The rooms are enormous - we had a one bedroom apartment.
The bedroom had 2 full size double beds with loads of storage space. My kids slept in the lounge on the sofa beds. Although tired and basic the maids cleaned every day - changed towels every day and made the beds etc - excellent.
The pools were cleaned every morning and someone seemed to be cleaning the grounds all day long. There were enough sunbeds for everyone. But people still liked to do the towel ritual.
I was surprised at the food. I expected rubbish. It was actually not bad. Plenty of choice and the staff were always bringing fresh stuff out and they never ran out of anything. We didn't bother with the snack bar - never needed to.
The drinks were brilliant anything you want that’s locally produced from 10:30 to midnight. Beer is San Miguel draft. There is no fuss, no bother the staff just serve you with whatever you want - also under no circumstances do they serve under 18's with alcohol. The bar is also where you get bottles of water from to put in your fridge.
The bar changes to a pay bar from midnight to 01:00 but no-one bothered much and just went to bed.
There were no drunks, no excessively rowdy children, and no gangs of marauding teenagers.
The guests were a mixture of nationalities -French, German, Dutch, Belgium, Spanish and of course British. The staff seemed to be able to speak every language.
The animation team was tireless, but not pushy, you could join in if you wanted, no bother if you didn't. The first week my kids seemed a bit wary of the activities but in the second week they joined in them all.
The entertainment at night was the animation team dancing and miming to various themes. Pretty dull but the kids loved it - even took part on a couple of nights.
The aparthotel is in the middle of nowhere on a main road. There is a fantastic courtesy bus run by the hotel, driven by lovely Gizmo who is English. It runs from 09:00 - 21:00 but stops at 13:00 and starts again at 15:00. It takes 5 minutes to get to Tossa. Don't panic if the bus is full as Gizmo just comes back and does another run.
Tossa de Mar is a pretty place, small pleasant and picturesque especially from the old walled part.
I was going to be picky and say the whole Hotel is very basic and very tired, isolated and a bit boring. Then I remembered I paid £2300 for 2 weeks high season all inclusive for 2 adults and 2 kids. What did I expect? If you want a 5 star hotel - you had better pay for it. This is a 2 star and is about right.
Go with an open mind and fairly low expectations - like I did and perhaps you will be pleasantly surprised. All in all - enjoyable.

Submitted By: Mr M AllenThe holiday was brill. The main pool was brilliant, it was deep enough to dive but also shallow enough for none swimmers. All the facilities and entertainment team were a credit to the hotel.
The rooms were spacious and cleaned every day even though our room smelt a bit of drains we did report this and the problem was solved.
The restaurant was too small for the number of guests staying at the time the food was excellent although more selection was required at the snack bar i.e. pizza not included with the all-inclusive. We shall definitely be going back in the near future.
Gizmo the bus driver was great told us the weather every day that was a god send.
The weather wasn’t brill but that didn’t spoil our holiday.

Submitted By: Mrs C FishWe have just returned from our all inclusive holiday at San Eloy. It was our first all inclusive holiday and we were a bit wary as our 8 year old daughter is a bit of a fussy eater, but there was no need to worry... Because the food was fantastic.
We all ate really well from morning to bed time thanks to the chefs, Valantino and her dining room staff that tidied away your plates too making up at the table for you, we couldn’t fault it 5 stars service thank you.
If you didn’t make it for breakfast no need to worry as snacks and hot and cold drinks were served from 10.30am throughout the day.
The bar service was very good and quick. The only thing I would say is that they could make the service even better by having a separate counter for snacks and hot food. It was not a problem for us but I could see in high season it might be.
Entertainment: Was also fantastic from grandma winning the bingo and getting a bottle of bubbly, to my husband and daughter getting certificates for winning some of the games played during the day.
That’s when they could pull themselves out of the 3 swimming pools and a little park also crazy golf and the sand pit. Or just chilling with all their new friends the children made.
As the San Eloy is about 5 minutes from the centre of Tossa de mar, but it’s not a problem as there is a free bus driven by Gizmo who knows everything you need to know about getting around.
The bus runs from 9.00am in the morning until 9.00pm in the evening apart from 1pm till 3pm in the afternoon.
If that’s not enough the evening entertainment was just as fantastic, from 9.00pm mini disco with a game for kids to kick off with.
Then either the entertainment team did a show which were all very well performed, or we has a show from outside which were also very good. With the hotel team entertainment prepared to join in.
We all had a good laugh thank you needless to say we are going to book again for next year.

Submitted By: Mrs L JonesThe San Eloy hotel is situated in a wonderful and picturesque spot just outside the town of Tossa De Mar. I felt the complex felt reassuringly safe for the children to play and enjoy themselves.
The room was large, comfortable and clean, a little on the basic side but at the end of the day if you are all inclusive then, hey relax and make the most of it. The housekeepers attended daily and replaced the towels. Pillows and extra bedding were available on request.
The restaurant was on the small side and seemed a bit cramped during meal times, I don’t think the air conditioning worked at all times either. I felt the choice of food was poor, not knocking the chef he can only work with what’s he given and within his budget. Obviously some days were better than others. The drinks served were great, they were local brands but still tasted great, with generous measures. The waiting staff were also pleasant and worked hard to ensure tables were clean.
The entertainment team worked very hard and made are holiday more enjoyable. The shows they put on were fantastic and funny! I also enjoyed the games that they put on including those who wanted to be included.
I would definitely recommend this resort to other people especially those with small children, the flights time were wonderful and the actual flight was not too long for the people especially children to get irritable. Once again transfers went smoothly from the airport to the resort and only took about 35mins.
I would definitely book another holiday to the San Eloy

The swimming pools were spotless to and entertainment great well done the San Eloy.

Submitted By: Mrs S HossackThis hotel far exceeded any expectations I had before I arrived with my husband and two children.
On the initial arrival I thought it looked quite basic and when I saw the reception (a small bungalow style apt in the centre of the complex) I assumed we were in for a basic holiday, but what a very pleasant surprise.
The rooms where basic but spotless and very large with a kitchen and dining area, and all rooms look on to the complex giving you a very secure feel when your kids are out playing.
The food was spectacular. I have stayed in 4star hotels where they could take a lesson from the food on offer here, there was plentiful choice with a good standard of cooking and having thought prior to our holiday we may eat out sometimes, we were surprised to have come home and not eat out at all.
The entertainment was fantastic and robin Yvonne and the med playa entertainment team can hold their head high and proud as it was second to none.
My only criticism would be it is very much aimed at families - and this suited us just fine.
There was various activities during the day which the kids enjoyed and if they are active just choose from the mini golf, tennis, football or the two large pools (and also small kiddie’s pool which my 3year old loved).
There is also the lovely gizmo who is the San Eloy coach driver, taking you in and out of Tossa de Mar every hour on the hour (included in your price).
This is one all inclusive I could say you could go with little or no spending money and have a ball.
We will be back.

On the day we (Myself, wife, kids: 15,11 and 9yrs old) arrived we got there 4 hrs before our all inclusive was due to start but they let us go straight to our room (for no extra charge) as it was ready. As lunch was being served they asked us if we'd like to start early and miss lunch on the last day instead, very nice of them, so we checked it out.
The resort is well laid out with the main pool close to the rooms and lots of grassy areas for sunbathing, there were loads of sunbeds so no need to get up at 7am to put towels out. Our room was fine, it was clean and spacious and nothing was missing or broken, we got fresh towels every day. The shower puts our one at home to shame, if you want to be pinned to the wall, feel free and whack it on full power.. and the hot water never ran out even after all 5 of of us had showered.. a big plus point as i was always last in. :-)
The entertainment team were excellent, they had plenty of activities during the day for kiddies and seperate ones for adults, nothing serious but good fun and made a break from laying in the sun. The same team also put on shows in the evenings which were always entertaining and every night they always asked people from the audience to come on stage for some light-hearted fun. The team really do make your holiday one to remember. During our stay they also had a few acts visit for a couple of hours, there was a reptile show and a parrot show which the kids loved. We never came away thinking we'd wasted a night..
The San Miguel flowed freely and i never waited more than 2 minutes to be served, obviously that may change in the peak of summer but as there is no need for cash it cuts the serving time down massively. Also, officially you're only supposed to get 2 drinks at a time but i never saw this, they'd serve you all the drinks you needed and always with a smile. The bar is also linked to the kitchens upstairs so if you're peckish at any time in the evening just ask for some chips, burgers or whatever and 2-3 mins later it arrives at the bar..and it was always freshly cooked.
Like others have said on here, the San Eloy is away from the main resort and as we had the kids with us clubbing and fun-pubs weren't important anyway. Definately a 100% family holiday destination. I've read a few reviews from people moaning about kids running around being noisy.. this is a holiday for kids and they are actively encouraged to run around and do stuff. If you're on a couples holiday or a stag/hen party this is not the holiday for you.
The restaurant was the thing we worried about the most but we needn't have been. Every mealtime was met by a different variety of foods, we never saw the same dish 2 days running. Even our fussiest boy was able to find something at every sitting. Every day there were different types of meats and fish all fresh and cooked perfectly ( we saw Salmon, Monkfish, Panga, cod, hake, fresh sardines, trout, veal, lamb, chicken, pork, steak, beef, quality sausages..etc etc) there were always pastas and fresh salads ( russian, spanish, english, carrot and pineapple salad was amazing) fresh french bread. And there was always a lighter option with different fruits being prepared. I didn't see anybody make a single complaint..not even that there wasn't enough as it was all eat as much as you like. The chef was always there too if you wanted to talk to him. There was always the choice of at least 5-6 puddings not including the kids unlimited free ice-creams that just helped themselves to.
During our stay we kept bumping into people who said it wasn't their first vist to San Eloy, many said they come every year.. that says it all i think. We'll be going back again too.
