We went to the reef oasis hotel on the 21st july for our honeymoon,we had an amazing time we are both 27 years old so still young really. We booked with thomas cook i could not fought our hoilday rep as he was always there on time and really helpfully in all ways needed. The food was really nice but it was all the same really if you like fish you will be fine if not then there are alot more dishes but not really are taste..The staff in the reef oasis were lovely really helpfull and understanding, room cleaners, bar staff, waitress staff, thomas cook rep, gardeners, shop assiastants, etc were lovely. The hotel its self was reeally clean looking. With the building work going on it didnt effect us atall as i found it at the enterance which us no were near the apartments as i could see,we were asked from thomas cook if we would like to change hotels because of the building work going on before we went, and im really glad we never. But the flight from bristol to egypt was awfull. We had a muslim aircraft with no entertainment on,the seats were really close together. As my husband is 6 foot a normal size man he really could;nt move. This was a real shame as the hoilday was lovely.

we have visited this resort several times in the past always booking with thomas Cook. always had a wonderful time but this year realised that we are booked to travel with koral Blue Airlines. Never having heard of this company previously we did some investigating and were horrified to find out how appauling this company is.Thinking Thomas Cook a reasonably good company we contacted them to change flights as other people have done. After numerous phonecalls lasting a considerable length of time and the promise that people would ring us back we have had no success whatosever. This will be the last time we book with Thomas Cook. Wish us luck!!!

Just came back from 2 weeks in the reef oasis with my partner & son, did not want to come home as we had a fantastic time. I had read reviews before we travelled & was a bit apprehensive about the building work going on but it did not affect us as it is all at the entrance to the resort & we were in room 246.With the resort being over a large area there is always a quiet pool to relax in. The shops around the corner by Fantasia are an experiense to say the least, but if you want some cheap presents to take back home ( all the shops seem to sell all the same things ) have a walk down in the evening, be prepared to be hasseled to go into every one but just say No & carry on walking. The waiters & bar staff were very helpful & nothing was to much bother, as for the food there is plenty of choice & all well cooked. Myself & my son did have a bad belly for a day but nothing to worry us ( the money was I think the cause, it is really dirty ). The trip to the dessert in a jeep & then on a camel is a really good day out if a long day. The food on the flight was a bit basic & we had an hour delay going out & one & half on the way home. Go & see this resort for yourself, we will be going back again for definite.

I have just returned from the reef oasis hotel and have got to say this hotel is outstanding, I have been to many countries in 5* hotels and this is the only 1 I will be returning to. I am already looking for a deal for November this year.
Food was really nice the second week was a little repeatative but this was expected, I also did get the egyptian belly problems but again this was expected.
Snorkelling is the best I have seen you don't even have to be a great swimmer as you can go off the jetty and hold on to the side you will see the most amazing fish feeding on the coral. I am not a lover of the sea but it was truly amazing, this fish are friendly as well as they are so used to people. At night a walk up the jetty is really nice as you will see the famous Lion fish that only come out at night.
The staff were amazing give a small tip of 2/3 english pound and you will get 5* service all the way through you won't even have to get up to go to the bar, the animation team are fantastic and made our holiday so fun, they work really hard for so little money so please give them tips.
The only criticisim I have is the amount of Italian and Russian ignorant people were in the resort, they don't know how to queue at meal times they are rude and have no manners but this is not a problem with the hotel just with the people that visit.
10/10 holiday, my mother in law is now on her 4th Visit to this hotel.

when we got to the airport we were a bit worried about what to expect as their was building works etc, we boarded or plane and had to go on a thomson plane as monarch plane was broke, we were then stuck on plane 2 hours before leavin as there was technical problems, we then finally got to egypt, bags come out quickly and coach was waitin, they will ask for money the egyptians quite cheeky!! you dont need a visa if u are just stayin in the resort as we did! we got to hotel and was so impressed it is massive! we went to reception they gave our bands etc and drove us in a buggy to our room, was very impressed by the room very nice, clean. however we was right next to the building work and so far from the beach so we went to reception to complain so they took us to see other rooms and by doing that realised our room was much better so kept ours and the building work dont effect u at all. went for food it is better wen it first opens rather than at 10 wen we got there. the beach is so nice the fish also impresive, the food was lovely and the waiters are polite but do expect a tip although its self service!! we went to fantasia but men push u into there shops and pressure u wud not go bk to the shops! nama bay is nice for shops wanted to go back there a second time!! asked about stayin longer but also would def go back, the weather is so hot sumtimes have to sit in the shade, and finally expect to have the stomach bug because u will get it, wouldnt book through thomas cook again they are useless and the ref is so usless too, overall fab holiday!!

Everything about the hotel is great. Food was lovely as were the staff. All of the party i was with did get a stomach upset, but i certainly would not say it was the food. Its probably down to the heat and the exchanging of the money(take some antibacterial handwash with you to be safe). The complex is huge but is nice to walk around. we had a pushchair and a mobility scooter which we didnt have a problem with.
Dont listen to bad reviews, make up your own mind about the place.

Just arrived back from a 2 week stay at the Reef Oasis , I had read a few Blogs before going, some good some bad, so I thought go with an open mind. Flight from East Midland bang on time great, but unfortunately seats to cramped (Thompson plane) we were on the flight about 5hrs meal not to bad , bags arrived quite quickly coach waiting was told that the Egyptians would fight for your bags quite surprised it didnt happen no problem. arrived at the hotel reception very efficient given bands and the room key (I'm waiting for something to go wrong so easy up to now.) We were told to go outside and we would be taken to our room I thought we would have to walk Wrong we were taken by Electric golf buggy to the room .when we got to the room No 340 it only had 1 King sized bed but very quickly a single was brought for our Grand Daughter, The room was very spacious plenty of room, clean ,We were tired so went to bed early. Next day we went for Breakfast wow !!!!! plenty for everyone Fresh Orange Juice but you had to pay for that , Pancakes , Waffles, fried eggs, omelettes all cooked to order fresh, fruit, cheese, cakes ,yogurt, cereal, you name it it was all there loads of different types of bread. and the Waiters big smiles on there faces could not do enough for you. and the restaurant itself clean. We walked around found a pool area again very clean unfortunately my Granddaughter couldn't use it because 2 days before going she broke her wrist poor darling. while we were sat the entertainment staff came around to talk and get people up to dance and enjoy themselves that was just after 10am. they were still entertaining everyone after 12 at night they need a medal and extra money for all they do the shows that they put on were absolutely fabulous and i mean that well done to Joe, Skubidu, Yasem, Aymen, Zied, Kimo and the young lady's who's names I didn't get The hotel and all the food was excellent . Yes you will get the odd complaint about the food I had the misfortune to share a table with an English couple who did nothing but pull the Hotel and its food to pieces while filling their plates up to the hilt 3 or 4 times over but believe me the meals were hot and delicious and fresh and I am a funny eater. on our last day we were trying to find ways to stay I would love to go back to the Reef Oasis Great hotel ,Great Staff Great Weather if a little to hot but hey that's what you go for . The sea is fantastic as well loads of tropical fish to see Best holiday so far

WELL i must say i am appauled with thomas cook never again ,we were notified 3 days before travel of the said building work and told refund or go and you can't complain as you have been made aware or the possible disruption!!!!!well we went ,who wouldnt after waiting a year for your holiday????flight changed 5 times and airline and we flew with AMC AIRLINES!!!! Never again ,delayed in plane with no explanation,no in flight entertainment,no duty free ,and drinks in plastic cups from 2 litre pop bottles, which were warm.food disgusting, and air crew very rude, even shouting at some passengers to shut up and sit down [this was a poor old lady who needed the loo and was wondering which one to use, as although we were near the front of the plane they kept saying to use the one at the back!!!]most of the time they tutted and gave us filthy looks.Anyway not really bothered too much by building work even though we were placed on top of it [room 1203] as long as you kept your door shut.which was fine as you needed the air-conditioning and did'nt need the mozzies.builders were in fact quite entertainig, which is more than i can say for the animation team!!!!RUBBISH.The food average, beach packed, but room kept clean and sunshine nonstop.ALL ILL with varying degrees of upset tummy, not bitten much and the red sea is fantastic, but no way is this a 5 star hotel,we will not be returning.

All i have to say is i hope you didnt book all inclusive as i would not eat a single bit of the food cooked in that kitchen. Leaving aside the fact that Thomas cook booked us the wrong hotel, beach resort instead of Blue bay, my girlfriend caught a very contagious and horrific bug called Shiggela from some meat cooked in the main resteraunt by some idiot that already had this infection and not only decided to come to work with it which is bad enough, but didnt even bother to wash his hands properly before cutting and serving meat. DISGUSTING or what?!
read this description of the bug i cut and paste from a medical website:
Most Shigella infections are the result of the bacterium passing from stools or soiled fingers of one person to the mouth of another person. This happens when basic hygiene and handwashing habits are inadequate.
Try to rebook your hotel asap, i would hate to think any other people are at risk to this as my girlfriend was, who has had to take one month off work to recover as it is highly contagious and in small kids can cause siezures, i know if i had children i woudnt take this risk!!!

firstly, we had mixed information before we arrived weather we would need a visa or not. unless you intend leaving narma bay, then you dont need one, although airport staff arnt to impressed.
secondly, dont let the building work put you of as your very unlikely to notice it.
we were very impressed with our room, pool veiw from patio, and another pool veiw from our front door, and at no extra charge. rooms 440 - about 456 are impressive, in our view the best pool, with a lovely barman hasan, and a wonderfull pool attendent called walleed. hell bring your mattresses each day, a tip tho, ( need to put out your towels first thing, to make sure you get beds) another tip is to tip, a couple of pounds go a long way, theyl really look after you.
we found everywhere very clean, food was good for a week, dont know about longerN may get boring after a while. most of the waiters were fab, apart perhaps at the italian resteraunt.
oh yes the only thing thhat i found a little odd is that you do have to pay extra for icecreams, which surly should be included in the all inclusive.
apart for that little moan tho, i found the whole experience fab

after a really dreadfull time prior to going to eygpt due to thomas cook, the overall holiday was faultless. 4 days before leaving we had a call from thomas cook advising us that there was building work going on in the hotel grounds and we were told that we could cancel or change the holiday. bearing in mind it was only 4 days to go, this was a nightmare. Thomas cook could offer no alternative accommodation in the resort or any other holiday come to that. They had no information to hand only that there was a water being built and this could caused dust and noise. Having been there before we knew the hotel layout and did our own research via the internett. The service we got from thomas cook was appalling.
Anyone going to reef oasis, please dont cancell as this will not interfere with your holiday at all. The work is being done at the entrance of the hotel and this is a very large hotel indeed. We requested room 115 as we knew this would be a long way from all this work going on. We actually got room 109 which for us was perfect. This room is central to everything.
We heard no noise whatsover. The food in this hotel is superb and the staff are so friendly and i advise you tip them after you evening meal on the first night and you will get first class service for your whole stay.the hotel has improved since we went 2 years ago. There are snacks in every bar and on the beach at all times of the day. There is food to please everyone and can se no reason for anyone to complain at all.
If we had have cancelled then we would have missed out on a good holiday. The weather was in the 80's everyday. 2 of us had an upset tummy but it didint spoilt the holiday at all.
I wouldnt advise Thomas Cook to anyone, there attitude to us was apalling.
There is no way that they didint know the work was going on, as it was well on its way, and 4 days before leaving to be told is unaceptable. They say they werent told until then. We have pictures to prove all this.
