The Hotel was lovely and clean and the facilities were excellent. The staff were very helpful and generally very nice people. The roof terrace and the indoor pool added a little extra as it gave you different options. The only problem I had was the evening food was... more

The hotel was very nice. Cleaned daily. The staff were pleasant and we were upgraded to a sea view. That was great as it was on the 6th floor looking onto the beach and out to sea. It was well worth the extra money if we had to pay for this view. The only problem with this... more

Hotel Maritim was very clean and tidy. Our room wasn't particularly big but it was cleaned every day and we were given clean towels every day. The room also had air conditioning which made the nights more comfortable. The pool area was small and you had to be down early... more

Good Hotel
I spent 9 days at the Maritim at the end of August with my 10 year old daughter. It is a very clean and comfortable hotel. The choice of food was sometimes limited, though there were always plenty of salad ingredients to fall back on. The entertainment was co-ordinated by a Dutch student who went out of her way to encourage any kids to join in the free activities offered on the beach, foam party etc. The hotel is in an ideal spot for a short walk walking across to the beach or into the town whose narrow streets have plenty of shops and character. The reception staff were always friendly and helpful. I found the best part of the hotel to be the roof terrace which was very quiet with comfortable sunbeds, jacuzzis and great views of the coast.
Loved it!
Myself and my boyfriend stayed here and really enjoyed it. Once we got over the small bedroom and even smaller bathroom - which we just found to be cosy in the end - we had a great time. Fantastic location, close to everything. Food was very good all week. I'm a fussy eater and had no problems. Staff friendly. And you can't beat the sun terrace - kid free zone, hot and with great views of Calella. Definitely recommend it. Entertainment wasn't much but plenty to do elsewhere, we lived in the beach bars. If you go expecting a balcony as we did don't be surprised if you end up with a 1ft by 3ft platform! But it didn't spoil our time there. If you are looking at this place to go to I'd say go for it!
terrible hotel
My husband and i and our two daughters have just arrived back from the Maritim. What you see advertised in the brochure isn't what you get. The entertainment consists of no more than one girl trying to keep the kids amused by throwing hoops in the swimming pool for them to catch and then colouring in pictures with them in the afternoon. The hotel is very clean throughout but is very small downstairs in the dining room and in the pool area, the entertainment room is tiny. The food is really bad not catered towards the english at all,but we did find a lovely restaurant across the road called the malibu the food there was lovely. The staff at the outside pool area are really nice and the food there is also really good.I would not go back to the Maritim again although we did meet lots of lovely people there so it wasn't all bad.
Great Hotel
My boyfriend & I stayed here for 3 weeks & had an amazing holiday. When we arrived the staff were friendly & throughout our holiday they continued to be very helpful & always friendly. Our room was cleaned to a very high standard every day. The thing we loved most about the hotel was the gorgeous sundeck they have. Its all new with 2 jacuzzis & loads of sunloungers & has fantastic views of calella. The food was not too bad, they're never the greatest in any of the hotels but we definately stuffed ourselves every dinner. Calella's also a lovely place, the town has lots of little unique shops & there's loads of bars & clubs with very cheap drinks. Overall we had a wicked holiday & would definately return!
Fabulous time at the Maritim
Myself, and my friends have just returned from a fabulous week at the Maritim. there is a rooftop sunbathing area with sunbeds and 2 Jaccuzis - an inside pool with jaccuzi - outdoor pool . the dining room was spotless as was the rest of the hotel. the food was lovely, but could sometimes have been a little hotter, but a good selection of starter, main course and desert. waiters and waitresses were friendly enough, but they dont speak very good english. the rooms were cleaned and fresh towels provided every day. we are going back later this year for a 5 day break as we enjoyed it so much. also calella is quite spanish and not english which we loved.
Fantastic
We had planned a trip to Barcelona and got let down by the place we were meant to be staying, there were no other hotels in Barcelona so having stayed in Calella the previous year I asked the Barcelona Tourist Info office if they could find us a hotel there, after a couple of telephone calls the Maritim offered us a room for the duration of our stay (bearing in mind we were 4 lads going for "a lads weekend"), we arrived just before 10pm and the staff couldn't have been more accomodating and friendly, the night security were also very friendly no matter what time or state we found our way back, I'm unable to review the food as we never made it into the restaurant but everything else was absolutely fantastic. Awful Hotel
Maritim Hotel in Callela is awful, what they show in the pictures of the hotel the rooms are very small. We booked sea view, and they did'nt give us sea view. THe staff where very unfriendly from the reception desk and the waiters. Food is awful. They re-cook the left overs for the next day. The staff speak limited english in the hotel. And becareful when giving your address because I received alot of junk mail. At night time you will here alot noise on the streets of screaming and shouting .
brill location
Just back from a fortnights holiday in the hotel maritim in Calella this is by far the best hotel I have spent time in. It was in a great location, overlooking the sea on the front of the resort. Shops, restraunts, bars and nightclubs all on the door step of the hotel. The hotel is cleaned every day by staff who never stop, from early morning till late. The rooms are cleaned daily and towels changed everyday. There is only one thing I didn't like, the food, although edible and cooked freshly every sitting, they didn't cater at all for children, if your child likes chips your fine, but thats it for them, a lot of fish, pork. still found it better than eating out. there are are a few english bars near but you pay up to 4.80€ a pint, our hotel was 2.60€ a big difference. We went with Thomson and saw the rep once, they dont come around very often, some people dont mind but most that i spoke to felt a little isolated by it. The hotel does have a girl who does aquarobics in the pool in the morning then does some games for the children but not a lot else really theres no kids club. The hotel is very multi cultural very few british, I loved this, and it was quiet. if you have a mixed family ask for the suites they have two huge bedrooms, poolside rooms were crammed. A woman I met had herself a son of 16 a daughter of 13 and her wee boy 9 they slept in beds that were put side by side they had no room at all. A little note about the beach, it is a gritty beach and can be quite hard on the feet, the sea can be a little rough so watch what your doing. Overall we had a lovely relaxing holiday, I would go back to this hotel.
Cheap, cheerful and clean
Went to Calella for a weekend with a friend halfboard. The Hotel is clean and the staff are friendly. The food isn't great though, there are much nicer places to eat near by, my advice is to stay room only or b&b. Very well situated for local ammentities and night life. Lots of different groups staying in the area; families, young clubbers and maturer travellers. Not much entertainment at the hotel but plenty nearby. The majority of guests were German, not many English. Great hotel to use as a base. The Aqua Park at Llorett Der Mer is about 45 mins away by a free coach.
Location
This hotel has a great location, lovely views of the med, clean, airy and nice staff. Just two problems, the food is terrible! Not much choice apart from the daily veal and the bad breakfast, but if your not bothered about that, then book room only or B&B and enjoy it! 2nd problem - the hotel entertainment, or should I say lack of it - but then again there are loads of places outside to visit, so this didnt affect the holiday. I would stay there again, but only because of the location and facilities.
