Romanza Hotel Reviews
" Brilliant place - go for it !!! "
Submitted By: JohnBaughanIt is basic in terms of accommodation - but there are no hidden extras like some other places - pay the small amount extra over other places that are cheaper and you will not be disappointed.
May is a bit cool like a warm summer /but in September just right.
Hill can be a bit of a chore /swimming pool cold- but other than that -
staff/location/views/food excellent.
Always look on line for general reviews - if there are a large number of disappointments - don't go - go here - this is brilliant for couples.
After looking on-line at other places in Corfu this still stands up to being great value.

Submitted By: V AbdollahianRestaurants that have wonderful food around San Stefanos are the Little Prince, Nafsika Hotel and a tucked away restaurant up near the Tsaros Apartments and Pool - well worth a visit.
The atmosphere was amazing, the service in the hotel was brilliant and we did eat there in the evening too, the food was lovely...don’t all book there though, as it was just perfect without too much noise!!

" What can I say? The Food - Fantastic.... "
Submitted By: Mr N RichardsonThere are 15 of us who go every year from as far south as Southampton and as far north as Newcastle. We add another couple to our group every year, yet they still let us come.
They put a table together for us and they remember which people are paying for what. Leo lets us put the footy on.
We love it. We are coming back in 07. Watch out the rabble will be there. If you’ve booked your holiday for the end of July beginning of August. We’ll see you there.

" Our two week holiday was fantastic... "
Submitted By: Mr P CooperThe flight was onboard a b767 plenty of leg room but the seats were very narrow.
Hotel Romanza was very good, the staff were very helpful, nothing was to much trouble.
The food in the restaurant was amongst the best in the area, with very good value pricing. The hotel is set up on a hill with fantastic views, with picture card sunsets. You do need to be able to walk well to get the benefit of the area as it is quite steep in places.
The hill down into the village was given the name cardiac hill, by those staying with us. The only real problem that we had was mosquitoes, so take plug-ins, insect repellent and if you can take anti-histamine tablets.

Submitted By: Mr WA HawksworthNow before I carry on let me tell you that my fiancé and I have been to the Greek islands many times before including Corfu 3 times, and know that accommodation is very basic, but this really was a shock, especially after such good reviews.
There were bars on our door, we had no front window, a tiny window about 10 inches diameter at the back that was falling out, the fuse box was open, the grate on the bathroom floor was loose and very sharp, mould on the toilet and dark decor.
We decided to ask reception if we could change rooms as all the other rooms seemed to be of the standard that we expected.
After 3 days we moved to room 6 and were very pleased. The view was fantastic, it was clean and we both thought we were in a different hotel.
The meals in the hotel were very good and the waiters service at breakfast was excellent, however we found the staff quite rude at times, whether this was because we complained I don't know but we were polite and did not deserve this.
Now on to the resort, I’ll keep it brief, the restaurants were excellent particularly Zorbas and the Little Prince.
Nightlife is fairly low key although there are one or two lively bars. One night we were in condor club until 4am!
All in all we had a great holiday other than the first 3 days, would we go back to this hotel, we would have to say no.

Submitted By: Mr John McleanChilled out by the pool every day with my ipod and a book. Food and drink prices were reasonable. I would love to stay there again. One of the best places I have stayed. I go away a lot so that is saying something.

Submitted By: Mr J NewtonThe hotel stands on the cliff top looking down onto the best beach in Corfu and every room has a sea view.
The accommodation is spotlessly clean with regular linen and towel change, every room has a fridge some have air conditioning (request this on your booking if required).
The food at the Romanza cooked by Leo and his family is, we think, excellent both for quality and variation and presentation is the best in the resort.
The hill down to the village and down to the beach is steep but us old uns always manage it at a steady pace.
Entertainment is Greek dancing on a Monday night and live music on a Wednesday night. Always plenty of room around the lovely big pool and never a scramble for sun beds.
Romanza(Greek for lovely view) is the best spot to witness the evening sunset. We love the place so much that our new house is called the Romanza.
We shall be back there has usual in 2007.

Submitted By: Mrs S CooperYes, the hill to the hotel and beach was steep but the atmosphere was so good that we were quite happy to spend our days lazing round the pool and eating their lovely food!
The resort is small and friendly but probably not enough night life for the younger set - Sidari is not too far away though.
We will most certainly return for another holiday very soon.

San Stefanos was perfect for us - lots of lovely tavernas and bars. Our favourite restaurant was Ozzy Oil, definitely go to the BBQ night on Tuesdays and let Kerry & Nikos spoil you rotten with the best service and food imaginable! Other great restaurants were Mythica & Beachcomber, it was very hard to have a bad meal! I would certainly recommend the Romanza & San Stefanos to anyone.
The hill to the hotel was rather exhausting in the first couple of days, we soon got used to it and it at least made us feel like we were doing some exercise! We also enjoyed walking to Arilas as we stayed there 5 years ago so it was great to go back and the olive groves was another beautiful walk. Have been back for 2 days now but would go back tomorrow given the choice!
Advice: Go for it! You won't regret it!
Activities: Best restaurants were Ozzy Oil, Beachcomber & Mythica. Walk to Arilas & through the olive groves
Good for: Beach
