Submitted By: Mr T InmanRoom was basic, view of wall, twin beds, booked for double, smelly toilet/bathroom.
Staff seemed miserable, under a lot of pressure from the guests. Food was boring after day 2. Drinks were unpleasant & served out of plastic cups. Location of hotel miles from anywhere. Beach is beautiful, water clear and lovely bathing.

Submitted By: Ms R SmithAgreed, this is no 4 star hotel; in my view probably a 3 star. On the plus side: the views are spectacular, the hotel is kept clean, pool area is nice. We found the hotel staff to be perfectly helpful and friendly. We had no particular problems with food/drink running out / cold showers / sewage smells / queues - (this may be different come peak season - there was the odd queue in the mornings for tea/coffee and also last orders at the bar). The room was fine, although the general decor of the hotel could probably do with a refresh.
The hotel is isolated - dependent on your perspective this could be a good or bad thing. You can book reasonable car hire for around 30 euros per day. The beach is a steep walk downhill, although I believe there is a hotel bus (we didn't try this). The entertainment was rubbish, which sort of added to its charm...For me the worst point about the hotel was the food - poor quality and mass catered. There's a big choice though, so you can cobble together something that's passable (I am fairly fussy too)!
So overall, although not amazing and certainly not 5 star, if you have realistic expectations in view of the price you have paid hopefully like us you can have a great week.

" Fawlty Towers!!!!!
Unfortunately not the funny version.
2 star at best
brussels sprouts and fish fingers for dinner, cold at that
tea or coffee, hard to get at least 15min queue, then it is cold like the food
the only nice thing is the view but watch out for the smell
oh and definetly take a pair of good walking shoes as you will want to get out and about and the terrain is rough.

Submitted By: Miss T M HoareThe staff were friendly enough there were one or two with a bit of an attitude problem but the rest were extremely helpful, especially the pool bartender. The staff levels could be increased to provide a more efficient service, especially an extra bar or use the pool bar in the evening with twilights and a pool barriers would seriously add to the mood.
The restaurant was a disturbing shade of pink and in no way on par with expectations for a 5 star hotel. The food was nothing to shout home about, breakfast was rather sickly, we found lunch had the best options of food and dinner was just left over lunch with a few choices of fatty meat and stale desert.
The hotel entertainment was ridiculous nothing but the same quizzes you have in your local Labour Club (only difference it was also spoken in German), the singing horrific, the disco started after the all inclusive bar had closed which decreased the merry atmosphere.
The rep service from WWW.HOTELS4U.COM was a joke. My parter and myself specifically asked not to be put into a taxi so had a shuttle booked, when we arrived we were put straight into a taxi. We also booked a triple room and received a twin. We were told at the welcome meeting due to the night clerk allowing us entry to our room early (the hotel was empty, we had been awake 48 hours and we told him we would wait until check in), that we would not be keeping the room up until our time to leave the hotel. This was not our mistake so i therefore had an ongoing "debate" over a 5 day period until this was resolved.
We booked and excursion to Corfu Town which we were over charged for and told on arrival we would not be getting picked up, after a group rant at the rep she agreed we would be collected at 10.30pm or make our own way back, the other passengers and I were originally told 09.00pm. Needless to say after another "talk" we got what was originally agreed. We had booked a second excursion at the same time as booking the first to the Aqualand Water Park, upon waiting for the bus to arrive the receptionist ran out to say it had been canceled. This information was given to us 10 minutes before we were due to be picked up, we did not receive our money back until 2 days later (the rep's excuse was "I banked the money on wednesday, you will have to wait until more people book excursions through us."), NOT MY PROBLEM...Or am i being unreasonable considering we then had to use our card to draw money out and book the trip again with Olympus.
I cannot say I didn't enjoy myself though the view was amazing, we met some fabulous people who made it all worth while for us.
TIP FOR ANYONE GOING HERE : Upon booking any excursions do not use the rep service use Olympus who the hotel provide. The service is fabulous and entirely worth the money.

Submitted By: Mrs G RobertsThis was supposed to be the most memorable holiday of our lives - our honeymoon. Yet all we've done is try to forget it since we got back. I wish I’d have had the sense to research this hotel before we went, but we assumed it would be as lovely as the other Greek holidays we'd been on and didn’t have time-what with a wedding to organise.
We walked into our room and were gobsmacked.
1. It was so dark we had to turn the lights on-even though it was sunny outside.
2. The 'view' from our window was of the road, surrounded by dirt and leaking pipes.
3. There were ceiling panels missing, the shower head was green and rusty, the taps were completely broken, dirt lived in every corner, the floor was disgustingly dusty and it was in fact a twin room instead of the double we'd requested.
Following this, the sewage/sulphur stink made us feel sick, the wasps were intolerable, the reservations manager was shockingly rude & unhelpful, we had to pay for an upgraded TWIN room (as they only have 2 double rooms) which was equally as disappointing. I was so upset. All I wanted to do was go home. It ruined our time in Corfu, though thankfully we rented a car so could explore as you cannot walk anywhere easily. Please be warned, this isn’t the half of it.

Submitted By: Mr Dw EvansThe staff were so impolite and unhelpful, the entertainment staff did their best... there was a dead rat in the indoor pool which had been there for at least a month the smell was terrible and it was near the kids play area. You got ripped off for everything, charged for using the internet, playing pool (which didn't work properly), all excursions were almost nearly closed so we really couldn't go anywhere, luckily we rented a quad bike so we could escape from here.
I must of heard 'end of season' about a hundred time, I'm pretty sure that this is the worst hotel in Corfu. It ruined the holiday for me and my girlfriend... ever ever ever go there you have been warned.

Submitted By: Mr G SmithAfter half an hour on a sun bed the only thing on my face was three wasps. Moving to the restaurant I was greeted by an infestation of flies. Having met with the wildlife I ventured to my room which was facing the road, the door would not close properly and so during the night I could hear people arriving and lorries clattering about, not that I could get much sleep as the mosquitos were now beginning to feast on us through the open patio window.
The shower was cold and the bath was just large enough for an umpalumpa. Undaunted we ventured down to the beach, half way down I was wishing I had brought my climbing ropes with me (It was steep) kept expecting to see Sherpa Tenzing coming the other way.
The only way I could enjoy my stay was to re-set my expectations to very low and soldier on. This could be a very nice hotel but not without a lot of work on the infrastructure.

Submitted By: Mrs M JonesInside what is meant to be kids club (but is full of gym equipment) the mirrored wall is smashed and has just been left like it. Walk through a doorway in kids club to find an unused indoor pool half full of stinking water and a dead rat. Any child could wander in as it is all unsupervised.
The worst place I have ever been. DO not go there!

Submitted By: Miss L .............The staff are probably the most helpful people I have come across for a long, long time. The staff will go out of their way to help you for whatever reason. The hotel itself is clean and comfortable, but is lacking any kind of childrens entertainment, the childrens club is not utilised at all and any day activities were aimed at adults.
The short walk to the beach is actually a hike down a mountain... or so it feels on the way back up... you should definitely use the minibus provided and the driver is an absolute angel.
If you are wanting an 'out and about' holiday, do not under any circumstances go here, the nearest pub is a taxi ride away (no buses come into Yaliscaris) costing about 20 euro each way. Corfu town is about 20 mins in a taxi (50 euro return) or 12 euros by a minibus that comes once a day (although not on a Saturday!!!! or a Monday).
The 3 pools are immaculate and as this is where you will spend most of your day, the pool bar and it's waiter are a welcome addition. Try to get your drinks in early each night, after 11pm the all inclusive band stops and you will be charged a small fortune for anything purchased.
I would recommend hiring a car (reasonably charged) to get out and about exploring the beautiful island, or at least budget in for an awful lot of taxi rides! The hotel itself is going through a 6 month refurb... we were told that by April 08 a lot of things will have changed, not least its name... Golden View I think.
Overall I would recommend more for couples wanting a relaxing holiday or families who are wanting to hire a car and explore Corfu. Once again, Staff deserve a real big mention.....

The hotel provides different types of relaxing moments :
