We are a middle-aged couple who spent ten days in Eva Palace at the beginning of August. The hotel is new (it was opened last year) and is situated in a quiet bay, away from the hustle and bustle of the city. It is good for couples who would like to spend a quiet and relaxing holiday away from the crowd.
In the evening there is live piano music in the bar, and the pool bar offers a different music repertoire every night, mainly evergreen.
We stayed in a normal double room (there are also luxury bungalows with separate pools). Upon arrival we were greeted with a bottle of wine and a lovely fruit basket. The hotel is located amidst olive trees and there are not too many shops around. But the hotel offers you everything you need, there is a small shop selling all the necessary things you might need and you can take a bus to Corfu town every day leaving from Eva Palace. The bus fare (round trip costs 6 euros), the taxi is 15 to 20 euros.
To tell the truth we were glad to stay in a hotel which was designed for couples. There are so many family club hotels all round the world, this one was different. We hope this hotel will be able to keep its concept and develop into a romantic retreat just for couples.
The beach in front of the hotel is small, only around 200m but it is surrounded by a large garden of lemon and olive trees. There were always enough deck-chairs on the beach and round the pool. The five-star Imperial Hotel is right next to Eva Palace (both owned by Grecotel) but it is not as quiet as Eva Palace.
The only thing we didn’t like is that check-in into the rooms is at 2 p.m. So, if you have an early flight (like we did) pack your swimsuits into your hand luggage and have a swim otherwise you will end up dozing on the sofa in the lobby and ruin the first day of your vacation.
