Captain's Apartments Reviews
" The accommodation was excellent and... "
Submitted By: Mrs H K SchmidtEverything you could wish for was in the apartment. The staff are lovely and their aim is to make their guest’s holidays as wonderful as they possibly can. The owners Irini and Elena care for all the guests staying at the Captain’s and nothing is too much trouble for them.
We would highly recommend this accommodation it is the best holiday we have ever had and want to return.

" Dora and Markis were excellent and we... "
Submitted By: Mrs C McAuleyThe pool is also excellent as it was warm and had a spectacular view. The pool bar was excellent as it closed when the last head went home. The mini markets are also just a few minutes away and the beach is also very close. The nature there was good as we seen little lizards and you could hear all different noises.
The beach is lovely and it is a stone beach and my family hire out a boat and went down the sea and stop about half way down and the kids got out to snorkel. The boats were wonderful and was a nice relaxing trip.
I would definitely recommend this apartment as it is so relaxing and clean and just anything you wanted it to be.

" Barbati is a lovely, quiet little... "
Submitted By: Mr K A SimpsonOnce the beach is very clean the sea is lovely and blue. Few bars and restaurants on beach front. Los of other fun activities to do e.g. hire boats, going for cruise to Corfu town center for the day shopping, paragliding.
Not much night life but 10 minutes in a taxi costing around 8-10 euros will take you to Ipsos town which very lively open all night!

" We have just returned from Corfu and... "
Submitted By: Mrs P M CurryThe steps are good exercise but everything was easily accessible. There was an excellent restaurant Caryatides across the road where the food was fantastic. Stathis the owner loves the ladies so wear your repellant if this isn’t your thing. Don’t let that put you off, the food is worth it.
The only reason I haven’t marked the apartments 10 is the fact that they don’t have air con which when the temperatures are 28 at night a ceiling fan is simply not enough but as we left Irini informed us that air con will be in for next year.

" I really loved staying here. Barbati... "
Submitted By: Miss Hanne LandsbergenThe beach is a 5 mins walk away from the apartments, if you go to the right you have the bigger general Barbati beach but if you go to the left you’ll find a more quiet little beach between the rocks which is very nice. Do watch out for the sea-eagles there none the less.
Then the apartments. They are perfect if you are looking for a decent basic place to stay. you’ll find everything you need in them including a kitchen. They get cleaned very often which is definitely a big plus! The balcony is nice and big, make sure you get an apartment with sea view because its spectacular.
from the swimming pool area you got the same great sea view as well and around the apartments are much beautiful flowers, plants and fruit trees which are well taken care of.
Irini the owner is a very lovely person who you can ask everything and appreciates positive criticism too. She was so nice to bring our suitcases to our room by car which saved us from having to climb many stairs with them ;)
The Barbati area is very beautiful. The mountain pandokrator is definitely worth driving up upon and trough the olive woods to Acharavi is great too, very quiet and beautiful. Also worth seeing are Kalami and kKouloura. Kouloura has a very nice small and quiet enough beach where the water is slightly warmer then in Barbati.
yes having seen some of the other apartment complexes and cities on Corfu while on the bus to and from captain's, I’m pretty sure we were lucky to stay in captain's and in Barbati it looked better then everything else I’ve seen. I’ve you don’t mind the stairs its the perfect place to stay, and believe me they’re worth climbing for it :)

There is a supermarket at the top and bottom of the steps.
Niki at the top shop very nice and prices very good. Lord Byron restaurant very nice and people are really friendly.
Local Red wine only 3.85 euros, Amstel only 1 euro per bottle and don't forget to take the empties back for refund!
The view from the apartments are breathtaking. This is the best holiday we have had for a long time. If you want to relax then this is for you.

" Ever just wanted to get away from it... "
Submitted By: Miss S TrangmarThen the Captains Studios in Barbati are for you! This accommodation is well equipped if you like to self cater. All rooms are fitted with cooker rings, fridges, private bathroom with shower and toilet and kitted out with modern furniture from Ikea! The best feature about this accommodation is the excellent views you have of Corfu, simply breath taking. On a clear day you can see Corfu Town! Captains has it's own pool and pool bar where you get buy snacks and drinks and listen to relaxing music. The beach is only a 5 minutes walk away which again is beautiful, relaxing and quiet. In the evenings there are a few bars and tavernas offering excellent food and a wide range of drinks.
If you want to explore more, then Ipsos is just a short taxi or bus ride away. If you want to venture further you can pop into Corfu Town where you will find lots of shops to by gifts and for the ladies excellent clothes shops and if you just want to sit and watch the world go by you can relax in the town with the locals and have a Greek coffee! I loved it there. I work in the City of London and have quiet a stressful job and I found Barbati and Captains Studioss the perfect place to relax, plus I managed to get cheap flights there through last minute.com.
The accommodation at Captains is cheap from around £10 per room, per night and you can catch a taxi straight from the Airport to Barbati itself for around 30 euros. A must for those seeking a relaxing and enjoyable holiday.

The cleaner also was quite nice as she cleaned or rooms and she didn't mind if we got in her way. Everyone that was there was extremely helpful.

" Dora and Makis are wonderful hosts!... "
Submitted By: A ScottThe accommodation is spotless because the cleaner, Alexandra, comes in regularly to clean. The steps up to the apartments might be a problem if you are wheel bound or feeling unphysical fit! We, personally, found that it was a great way of keeping fit! Dora, however, helped us carry our suitcases up the steps!
The beach is a downhill short walk away. Supermarkets are within a very short distance, either up or down the hill.
Albania is a great trip- try a local agency rather than Thomson’s, much cheaper! Get a local bus to Corfu town. Try a local Island Tour.

The best thing was the way everybody was like one big family and the size of the hotel meant everybody knew each over. I loved my holiday here and would definitely go back again. <br>

Barbati itself has two shingle beaches with crystal clear waters, perfect for snorkelling. We tried four of the tavernas; all were of a high standard with fresh fish available for between 12-15 euros. If you need a night on the tiles Ipsos is a 10 euro cab ride away. Taxi to and from the airport is 35 euros.
