Just had out 2nd week at this hotel, only time we have ever returned to a venue. The staff are great, particularly Annetta & Eleftheria on reception, always friendly and helpful. The rooms face the sunset over the sea [lovely], the food is good for an all inclusive and... more

Just got back from a four day all inclusive stay which was fantastic! The food was great and there was a good selection. The al a carte restaurant was also very tasty. There was a good selection of drinks included in the all inclusive offer. The hotel was clean and modern... more

Only had a week but would have liked to stay forever!. First class accommodation, food, service. A break from reality and totally relaxing. The hotel is on the beach, in beautiful surroundings, wonderful views and glorious walks. Nothing to do but walk, swim, eat, drink and... more

The hotel is built into a cliff face, with the main entrance on the top floor, and the rooftop bar has stunning views. Great facilities. The resort itself is quiet but buses run to larger towns nearby. The tour operator arguably makes the experience a little too English if... more

The best views from this hotel that I have ever seen! The rooms are a bit basic when compared with other Thomson gold hotels but overall the hotel probably justifies a 4 star rating. The views from the rooms, bar, restaurant and pool area are stunning. The hotel is situated... more

Aghios Gordios Hotel? More like Aggro Ignorius Hotel... Thomson, how could you be so mean to your loyal customers as to even dream of rating this dilapidated hotel higher than 3T? Gold status? We think not. Have you ever actually SLEPT in any of the rooms that your... more

I went to this hotel as part of a cruise and stay package. I found it unbelievable that this hotel was a Thomson Gold Hotel. Entertainment was held on the roof top terrace however noone could go out at night due to wasps and mosquitoes. Most nights the hotel only had... more

On the plus side: Panoramic views are spectacular and the sunset, when not misty, is gorgeous. No children - so very peaceful. Good base for anyone wanting to venture out and explore the island, one of the reps takes you on various walks around the island ranging from... more

We booked this hotel as a last minute deal and really loved both the hotel and the resort. The room we had was very comfortable - the only slight downside that the electricity kept going on and off in our block (block D). The food was very varied and tasty - especially... more

single rooms
I booked a week at the Aghios Gordios and paid a single premium. The hotel, situation and village were all good as I expected but the single room was dark, overlooked from public areas and on the route to several other rooms, meaning people were walking past the window day and night. There were only two sockets in the whole room and very little natural light. It faced the rear of the kitchen and suffered from noise from there and an outside entertainment area. Due to problems with the plumbing I was moved after three days to a lovely... more
Disappointing for a 4-star Hotel
We have just returned from a very disappointing week at a supposedly four-star hotel. On the first night of arrival after a very long journey my partner had to kill several ants that were on the floor and walls in the room, this was the first of what turned out to be a regular occurrance and we also found a flea in the bed after it had been changed. There was also hidden charges regarding the TV remote, in-room safe and beach towels. Excursions were disappointing and overpriced, however due to the seclusion of the hotel unless you hire a... more
A relaxing place
just got back from an excellent week at the Aghios Gordios Hotel. I can strongly recommend it with the following proviso - you must be fit! there are lots of steps and hills wherever you go. Superb beach, clear warm sea and reasonably priced restaurants in abundance.Evening meals at the hotel were buffet style which were ok but drinks were pricey, staff and room were faultless.
Wonderful time.
We have just returned from 12 nights stay at the Ag Gorfios Hotel. We originally were hoping for a holiday in Gran Canaria but were unable to get a booking, so the Travel Agent suggested Corfu, so never having been there before we decided to give it a try. The Hotel was great, the staff were very friendly and being on the wrong side of 50 we found the lack of children very relaxing. The views from the room were stunning and the village very quaint. We went on the day trip to Albania and the ruins of Butrinti and thought it was... more
Peace and relxing
September 2004. Having read some of the reviews after booking I waswondering if we had made a big mistake but that was not the case. We found the hotel excellent, staff friendly and the Thomson reps excellent and were always around. Yes there was a hike from the beach which was indicated in the brochure, but as we did not have much other exercise this was o.k. with us. The beach was excellent and very clean and very peaceful. The accommodation was good as was the food - All round a very enjoyable holiday
Like a SAGA coach trip
Made the mistake of thinking Thompson Gold meant no kids and better quality hotel etc should read no kids must be over 50 (we are in our mid 30s so not exactly ravers). Hotel was average food was disgusting tried it on the 1st night (set meal times, refectory stile, very Butlins) and then ate out the rest of the time. Richards down the hill would have been far more intimate and with much better food. Corfu is gorgeous, hire yourself a car and travel around, find good beaches and visit Corfu town. Warning UNDER 50s DO NOT STAY HERE. Oh and... more
Holiday Heaven
We stayed at the Argos Gordios from 1st - 8th August 2004. From the very beginning it proved to be one of the best holidays we had ever spent. It was our first Thomson Gold and if this is an example it came out tops. The bedroom was large with a huge double bed, private double balcony with a beautiful view of the sea. The staff were all friendly and welcoming with always a smile. Admittedly there were lots of steps but we had been warned so allowed a little more time. The hotel is a bit like a "tardis" seems to open up more each day... more
the best holiday ever
Just returned from the Agios Gordios Hotel and can truly say it was the best holiday I've ever had. After 14 days away I'm normally ready for home but I wanted to stay there forever. The hotel is set in the most beautiful location with stunning views. We booked a superior room and it was well worth the extra. We had flowers, fruit and wine in our room on arrival, (the flowers were changed regularly) also we had slippers and a bathrobe each. The room was really nice with towel and linen change every day. The food was good, nothing fancy... more
Another great holiday
We have just returned from our 7th year at the Aghios Gordios Hotel. Another great holiday. Have already booked for 2005. I find some of the comments made in previous reports hard to believe. The hotel is just fine. People have to remember that Greek plumbing is not up to our standard, and that the fact that the roads around the hotel are hilly. But the latter is mentioned in the guide, so you were warned. The food this year was as good as any year, we did find the drinks more expensive, but as others did, we tend to drink in the local small... more
Cruise on dry land
The Agios Gordios hotel is run by Thomson Gold. This means no children but it also means mostly Brits and being organised if you wish. Be prepared for either a steep hill walk to the hotel from the village or steps from the beach. The hotel complex is right on the shoreline, each room having a balcony seaview and subsequent sunset view. Some rooms are separate from the hotel in bungalow style which means that steep walk for some to get to the restaurant - a little inconvenient if it happens to rain, which it does occasionally.... more
