The Costas Golden beach overlooks the impressive stretch of golden sands and is located right in the centre of this small, quiet resort. The pool terrace enjoys magnificent views and you can try your hand at the watersports on the beach which is just a stone's throw away. In fact, it's separated only by the local road, so if you're lucky, you may convince one of the family to set you up your own table to watch the sun set over the Ionian Sea!

WE have just returned from staying at the Costas Golden Beach Hotel in Corfu and it has been an amazing holiday experience.

We go back every year the hotel is immaculate.

The rooms are very spacious with a safety deposit box now inside the room which is excellant the air con is very powerfull and very cooling.

The maids clean our room every day and replace our towels.

The pool area is very relaxing with sun beds scattered around the pool edge and the jacuzzi is very welcoming.

If you require a drink one of the excellant and friendly staff will come around to the pool and take your order.

There is a tennis court to the rear of the pool area which doubles up as a football pitch for the sport nuts.

There is a outside conservatory area which is under cover ideal for an early evening drink.

All the flowers outside are gorgeous and well maintained.

Inside is a large dining area with a buffet menu and an al a carte menu the food is always top notch.

Where better than the costas to eat breakfast or evening meal and look out at the sea which is situated over a small road from the hotel accompanied with a beach.

The staff are one of the reasons why we go back every year from Dimitri the owner to Spiros the son to George the bar man and Michael who does breakfast they are very friendly and generous and make you feel like a part of the family.

I never want to leave the place and come home.

I would.nt recommend the resort to teens as there is no night life and would become bored very easily.

It's a very quiet and relaxing resort and you can always guarentee the weather.

Have just returned from 2 weeks at this lovely hotel. Before we went I read all the reviews and I must admit that they were all right. We have never been welcomed so warmly on arrival at a hotel and I must admit that I was in tears when the departure bus arrived. Spiros, Dina, Dimitrios, George and all the staff were like family after just a few days. Even the dogs and cats seemed to know us after a short time! The only point I can make on the downside is the size of the shower - very small and rather awkward to move around in but this was a very small gripe compared to the overall package. We will definitely be returning next year. One comment I would make to people perhaps considering taking children there - it is not really geared up for kids, there is nothing there for them to do and it is mostly a nice quiet hotel for the more mature market.

What a hotel! Brilliant setting right on the beach. Hotel is run by a family, who are really proud of their hotel. You are treated like family by Dimitri, the dad, and Spiros, the son. Entertainmet every night. Food is excellent. George, the barman, and Mike, waiter, have been working at the hotel for over 20 years. This was our second visit to this hotel, everyone seems to return.

Just got back from the Costas Beach Hotel with my wife & young son. The hotel is situated in a wonderful location right on the beach.

Agios Georgios North has a superb beach and is set within a breath taking setting. The hotel itself is geared towards the more mature market; my son was the only child for the majority of the week.

The rooms are clean but small especially if you are trying to get three people in them. Sky TV is provided and rooms are air-conditioned. No bath, it is shower only.

The entertainment was very basic. Karaoke twice and a pool competition. Dimitri was the resident DJ / Hotel owner played music to cater for his mature guests. Meals are buffet style, hot breakfast available for an extra charge.

The food is adequate although for a true taste of Greece try the local tavernas. We visited the fish restaurant over the far side of the beach and it was stunning.

We hired a car using The Belle Helena hotel next door as it was 30 Euros cheaper than Thomsons. We booked it for three days and visited Arillas, Paleokastritsa and Achravari. The driving was pretty hairy through the mountains however the reward was breathtaking views.

Arillas was definitely more geared towards families and if we were to return to Corfu, this is where we would go. Paleokatritsa was stunning and well worth a visit.

The beach was beautiful although swimming may be unsuitable for a small child it was very stony under the water. Invest in some rock pool shoes!

Overall I would say the hotel is more suited for the mature visitor, certainly if you visit during term time. We were reprimanded several times, once for walking into the hotel from the beach. This was on our first day and she told us not to walk through the hotel but use the tradesmen’s entrance. We were not wet; we had only been for a stroll!

Not a great start to the holiday and she appeared to hold this against us for the remainder of the holiday. We barely saw a smile from members of the staff; they all seemed to either be exhausted or totally disinterested. Or was it because we dared to walk through the reception and upset the hotelier’s wife?

Whatever it was a black mark was firmly marked next to our names as all the other guests raved about how friendly the staff were. Shame we never got to see it. So whatever you do, don’t use the main entrance if you have been to the beach for a stroll!

One final piece of advice, you go on a big coach from the airport to a drop off point where you join a small mini bus. They did not say this was for Aghios Georgios guests, they said those going to San Stefanos get off.

There was no rep on board to advise us to get off, it was pure luck my husband asked the coach driver as having previously visited Corfu before, and he recognised that this was the way to our resort.

Excellent hotel situated almost on Golden Beach in very quiet resort in North West Corfu.

Management and staff outstandingly friendly, entertainment and food first class.

Rooms well furnished and kept spotlessly clean by maids.

Only problem ... time taken to cover 25 miles from airport to resort on 4th May ... three and a half hours! Thomsons didn't seem either organised or bothered about this!

10/10 for location, 10/10 for staff, 9/10 for food (the best we have had anywhere in Greece), 10/10 for beach on the doorstep. Rooms very nice, clean and comfortable. Air con available in rooms for a modest electricity charge.

Not a destination for the young and lively, but for a get-away-from-it holiday or for couples or families was really great. Highly recommended for couples and families with a focus on comfy hotel in low key resort with much natural beauty - stunning beach, no crowds.
