Don't let this review put you off from booking at the Brilliant Apartments. By the time you read this, these aparments will be Brilliant, but when we stayed there at the beginning of May, they weren't finished!! On arrival at the airport, we were told they weren't quite ready and we were to be moved to a hotel nearby. Fair enough, these things can happen. By the middle of the week's holiday we were moved to the apartments... we were astounded! Workmen everywhere, no fire doors in the stair wells or corridors, missing furniture (including the door to the kitchen/living area) no bathroom fittings, open dry riser doors a child could fall down! The list goes on ... and has done in a formal complaint to First Choice, who insisted on filling the apartments.
It would have been illegal to open the apartment block in the UK for fire reasons, and almost everyone who was moved complained to the rep.
That said, they will be STUNNING when finished. Flat screen TV's, new beds, freshly decorated rooms and a superb pool area, all in easy walking to the restaurants and bars in Protaras, it's such a shame the travel company put expedience before our safety and moved us in before the were ready.

First impressions when we arrived were a little disappointing. The rooms that we were allocated were a little tired and not much storage space.
Having said that we did arrive late at night and was a little ratty.
But when we pulled back the curtains to see that we had a ground floor apartment which went straight in to the pool area (RESULT)
The brilliant Apartments lives up to its name in quality and location and when all the new rooms are done it will be stunning.
My partner and i went to view the re-fitted apartment and rate it as 4 star.
Will definately be going back.

The staff are really friendly! and the pool is probally the best pool out of all the hotels, you can be about 3 minutes away from the night life and you can be away from it too for peace and quite. We are defantly going back next year and we defantly recommend it. Also the rooms are standerd but then again you are only really sleeping in them. Also i just want to get on a plane and just go right now i miss it so much and cant wait to go back.

As a 19 year old travelling with 3 other girls i was slightly skeptical about what it would be like staying in the Brilliant with a bunch of young families! I have to say i could not have been more impressed. We arrived to a massive four bed room that had enough space for all of us to fit our stuff in which was surprising being 4 girls. The shower always had hot water and the maids came in every day and changed your towels every other day or if you left them in the bath, every day. The pool was our favourite feature, really really big with a jacuzzi section which was definately nice after a night out in ayia napa! We stayed round by the small pool which would be lovely for young families as its no more than half a metre deep and not busy. The staff were all lovely and friendly.. they were mostly english which made us think that it was a well respected hotel even to the british that lived out there. The food was good value and always served efficiently and to a high standard. I would recommend this hotel to all ages in any circumstances. We never stayed around at night for the entertainment but other people seemed to and Protaras is far too lively to stay in the hotel at night! The strip is no more than a 5 minute walk away along with the gorgeous beach which has the bluest sea, definately in a great location!

Just returned from a two weeks break at the Brillant Apartments, We had a lovely time, first time to Cyprus and it was very hot!
The apartments were Clean and the staff friendly and helpful. We booked with Thomson and the reps were really helpful with useful information, on where to go and when for the best time, good opinions on restuarants etc.
We had a couple of issues within the rooms, however they were sorted very quickly once receptions were made aware and we were happy with it.
Pool is really nice, part of the sunbeds are in the shade from 3pm onwards, so you tend to stick to one side of the pool. Lots of sunbeds and we did not have trouble having available sunbeds without put towels down at stupid times in a morning, which was good. The hotel have made a rule that any towels on sunbeds before 8am are removed, which I think is good thing.
I did not find there was much entertainment at night within the hotel, a couple of nights there was a singer on, but not very many and nothing for kids at night, only kids club during the day and the pool sports (Volley ball and water polo) everyday.
Not far from the main strip with all the bars and restaurants, but far enough so it is really quiet. There is a building site over the road which we looked out upon from our room, however there was no noise from it at all which effected our stay.
I would return the Brillant Apartments, they are refurnishing all the apartments at the end of this year, which would be nice to go back to.

We have just returned from a fantastic 2 week stay at Brilliant Apartments. Stayed there 3 times now. The staff are really helpful and friendly. The rooms are really spacious and clean. It's in the pefect location, away from the noise but only a short 5-10 minute walk from the the main strip of bars / restaurants and the beach. Aiya Napa only a bus/taxi ride away. There is entertainment at the hotel including bbq nights and singers. The pool has just been completley revamped, making it alot bigger. There are decking areas, jacuzzis and a pool bar has been built. There is a restaurant which serves lovley pool snacks and evening meals. I would recommend these apartments to families and couples. Please do not listen to any bad reviews as we could not fault it. Hope to return again next year.

Just returned from a weeks holiday in the brilliant apartments with me, my husband and two children. When we arrived we were surprised because in actual fact the hotel is much smaller than anticipated. When we got to our room we were pleased it was very spacious, clean and with a very large balcony (it was a studio) however the bathroom was very small!! This was the only downside to the rooms. Within a couple of hours we realised that we had company on the balcony as the local cats tend to jump over and join you so watch out for them!! The pool is clean however is not very large there is always normally some spare sun beds. I am going to complain about the staff because they used the pool for volleyball every day while i was there which was annoying because i wanted to relax in the pool but there was no room because the people were playing volleyball also the ball kept flying out the pool and disturbing the people sunbathing around the pool. Also the staff are not that friendly during our stay none of the staff acknowledged us or said a friendly welcome or hello. I definitely recommend Protaras it is like a home to me but when i go back again soon i will be choosing a different hotel.

Returned from the Brilliant Hotel just yesterday and although had an enjoyable time, was not quite what we expected. The hotel itself isn't right on top of all the night life which was nice as it was quiet enough. the main strip was just a 5 minute walk, if that down a pathway. Travel time from the airport was approx an hour but seemed to go quickly. the hotel itself is lovelty, clean and welcoming. The staff are friendly and have a range of food, drinks, video games etc for everyone. Being 17, i was rarely bored. i travelled with my parents and best friend and we all enjoyed it. the childrens daytime entertainer however, got a little on the annoying side. everyday she played water polo and volleyball with the kids, which was good as it meant the deep end was empty and you could finalling have a chance to swim without being wacked by lilos or jumped on by little kids! the entertainer named Sylvia went round the pool everydy trying to get everyone to join in. by the end of the holiday i found myself avoiding her when she came round!
The rooms were nice and clean, however it would be nice to see atleast a bottle of water in the fridge when you get there. the maids came often however not everyday, which was confusing and annoying as you would run out of toilet paper!.. also, you would recieve clean towels and bed sheets for mabe 3 days in a row, then go 4 days without clean ones which wasnt great. the 4 of us were in one room. mum and dad in main room with single wardrobe + chest of drawers. in the lounge, was where the sofas were changed to beds, definately not the most comfortable beds to be honest, but managed with them for the two weeks. the balcony was small and had 4 chairs and a table. however the chairs were stacked up as they couldnt all fit on the balcony, was a very tight squeeze! we also found ourselves getting up at 7 to go and put the towels down. if you wasnted a decent bed you had to get it early as some people like to go down extremely early!.. also the best place to have a bed was at the depp end of the pool as it was the only part of the pool area that wasn't shaded as the rest was in the shade for majority of the day as the hotel itself blocked the sun. "the strip" was alot longer than imagined. there are a variety of restaurants including macdonalds and pizza hut. this is also a one way street which was ALWAYS busy with traffic even after midnight, so sitting in restaurants would be loud with the sound of cars and music, the cypriots all seem to like there cars over there! if you want to sit in a quiet bar then good luck finding one. the strip is full of karoke bars and clubs and although i enjoyed this, parents...not so much. the cypriots also tend to take over many of the bars when a football match was on! one pub that i would recommend is the "Square Pub" next to macdonalds. everyone is friendly and the entertainer, matthew was always keen to find out where your from and free drinks and shots are given away regularly!.. there are also many acts there. elvis, performed by matthew in a costume.. really good singer, and always has you laughing. the drag show, i hated the sound of this but thoroughly enjoyed it and found myself watching it again, recommend to everyone!.. not your usual drag show and really well rehearsed, packs of sparklers and bowels of popcorn are given while you watch the shows. JC hypnotist, me and my friend ended up being the volunteer's to be hypnotised. this show is quite rude and JC swears alot during the show, not suitable for children. cant say i know if i was hypnotised, but there was things the next day people said we did that we had no recollection of doing. Beaches were gorgeous, never seen clearer water. alot of beds and restaurants/cafes and many watersports to try! however, i'd avoid the beach at weekends as this is when the cypriots tend to take over and they will squeeze into even the smallest place without consideration. Fig tree beach is even nicer but good luck finding a bed as this is where everyone seems to want to go and is a small beach! there are numerous routes to take and about a 10 minute walk from the hotel. there are many supermarkets aswell as bakers, and also a sfc, their version of kfc.. the supermarkets varied in price so dont just settle for one as you ocould find somewhere alot cheaper! travel was expensive and a taxi to the next village can cost up to 30 euros. the waterpark in ayia napa was something we wanted to try but tickets were 30euros and travel was just as much!! protaras waterpark is something to miss as after asking around was told a comeplete waste of time as it is just 2 water slides! the hotel at night varied they had different things on. such as Sunny, the american singer, which shouldnt be missed, he is extremely good, too good for just a hotel singer!.. however the parrot show and bingo is something to miss!!.. bingo was hosted by sylvia and if your room looked onto the pool you won't be able to sleep until it's over, and her voice gets extremely tiresome. overall a lovely holiday except being extremely busy with kids. the hotel is quite brilliant but i wouldnt was its amazing.
- Advice: nice to visit once, might not consider it a second time though!

Not long been back from a family holiday at the Brilliant Appts in Protaras. The staff were very friendly and rooms cleaned daily in our 2 week stay. The staff were very friendly and quality of food served was very good. The 2 pools were very well maintained and enjoyed by all. Great atsmposphere and everyone on holiday got on which made the holiday even more enjoyable. 5 min walk from the 'strip' with the bars and restaurants. 10 min walk to the beach. Beach is very nice. Would recommend buying some snorkel gear as can see lots of fish in the corals close to the shoreline. can be expensive if getting parasols and loungers there and will cost on av 10 euros for the day.
With the football season fast approaching I would recommed going to Ripples Bar to watch the sporting action as have a good selection of screens showing all the sport. Great atsmosphere in there for the test cricket and golf recently. Waves Cocktal Bar is excellent with great value for food as well. Down the other end of the strip you have Paladini's restaurant which was 10/10 for quality of food but also has a play area for small children which was very safe.
Overall the Brilliant appts was great value for money and I feel more a 4 star than a 3 star offering. great location. excellent variety of bars and restaurants and would go back again.

I have just returned from a week in the Brilliant Apartments. Quite pleased with the rooms spacious however bathroom very small and could do with a lick of paint and renewing. If you have a family of four you will be on the ground floor the balconys are twice as big on the ground floor for families of four so very pleased with the balcony size we had a balcony overlooking villas you could see the sea from the corner. Rooms tidied everyday balcony cleaned and beds tidied however they don't change the bedlinen very often and only about two or three times a week they changed the bath towels. Bed linen not clean and smelt a bit fusty. However very pleased with size of bedrooms and especially balcony. On the back of the bedstand in the bedroom next to the bathroom there is a radio which is tuned into napa FM (Ayia Napa radio station) very good if you need a little music to fall asleep. Protaras is a great place to go on holiday with plenty to do and the beaches are gorgeous (Fig tree bay and the main beach) the sea is spotless and there is plenty to do with watersports and the daily trips to cape greco and famagusta (the ghost town)a fantastic experience (12 euros each for adult and 8 euros for a child under 12) would definitely recommend you can swim in the blue lagoon brilliant the aphrodite glass bottom boat is a must there is a bar on the lower deck and music it was fantastic. Would recommend Brillaint apartments pool area was spacious and clean and always plenty of sunbeds no need to wake up early pool very big and bar at poolside. Seperate kids pool adjacent to main pool 24 hour reception desk and telephone in main reception desk. Television in reception with sofas normally showing football and local television programmes. Would recommend Raj's Indian Restaurant around the corner of Sfinx bar on the main strip very nice food and nicely priced friendly staff and good atmosphere quite quiet. Zucchini's is a great place to eat quite expensive however you get lots for your money and sea views while eating staff very friendly and kind nothing is too much hassle for them. Brilliant apartments is located on a main road a short walk to main bars and restaurant and a fish and chip shop down the road the location is quiet but yet not too far from bars and restaurants. Man on reception desk friendly and very happy to help.

just got back, room had a super king bed, hairdrier as good as my own in a drawer & not on the bathroom wall, plenty of loungers that you could move with one finger, great location near enough from the strip but far enough not to get the noise, had pool & sea view magnificent sight new Liddle supermarket over the road cheap for self catering can not find fault at all staff were excellent & there was reasonably priced good food available at the pool bar was pleasantly surprised how reasonable food & drink was in the resort would say these were the best apartments I have ever stayed in they are still working on some rooms but that was no prob they have spent a fortune on the refurb & it shows.
