The Delfin Park Hotel is so far the best hotel i have been to. This year was my second time and i wish i had found it before! I have already booked it for next year because I have never met kinder staff (and I've been to alot of hotels). The waiters were so polite and very well manered. The cleaners always said hello or goodmoarning, and the chef was lovely always spoke and they all made us feel very welcome. I have to agree with my daughter Aldo was great with us, but sometimes on his nights off me had to wait ages for drinks but they always apologised as soon as they noticed. And Juan (the chef) Never walked past us without saying hi or giving a smile. The hotel is in a perfect position, it's close to the shops where you can grab a quick drink, close to the beach, it's only a 5 minute walk (if that). I would definately recomend Gaber's if you only go halfboard. It is quite a walk but then you're ready for something to eat. So overall the hotel I think should be a 5* instead of four because it has everything for young one's and older one's aswell. I would definately recomend it to anyone.
Will see you's all next year.

I have not long came back from this beautiful hotel. This year was my second and i am returning next year. The waiter Aldo was one of the many kind staff members, also Christian and the chef Juan. This hotel is close to almost everything and is great for adults and children of all ages. The maids are very polite and well all the staff are to be honest. Juan (or as Aldo calls him ''Robo Cop'') is very nice and always said Hola! I am realy looking forward to going back next year.
Thanks for a great holiday, i honistly wouldn't go anywhere else now.

Stayed at the recently up-graded Delfin Hotel in June 2010 & had a wonderful holiday. Hotel in prime location for bars, restaurants, beach & Portaventura. Staff very friendly, rooms extremely clean with good service, although walls are a bit thin, as others have reported, but it didn't spoil our holiday. Were very pleased with restaurant. Having same table meant no problem finding a vacant table at busy times. Good choice of food, obviously mainly Spanish cuisine (which we like) but if you prefer more of an English type meal that was available too. If you like English bars try The Butler, opposite the Olympus Park hotel (2 min walk from the Delfin). Had great time there, watching World Cup - marvellous atmosphere! Don't forget the Spanish or Dutch bars, though, you can drink in English bars anytime at home. The Harbour is worth walking to in the evening, with illuminated fountains & really nice reatuarants that aren't expensive. Also take a walk towards the old town for good selection of shops & bars/cafes. We are a couple in our 60s, who still like a holiday with plenty of atmoshere & life so Salou & the Delfin Hotel fit the bill - have already booked again for 2011.

There was a group of us aged 17 - 18 who stayed at this hotel for 7 nights. The hotel is very nice and in a brilliant location but this hotel would not be suitable for adults with children because they was hardly no entertainment during the day and night and not much choice of activites for children and adults. This hotel would be fantastic only for couples going away for a nice relaxing break. Food waise well i was not impressed with the choice and quality of food at breakfast and dinner as it was the same food everyday and the bacon was full of fat and not nice to eat. Restaurant staff were very friendly but could of been more professional on what the star rating was for this hotel. I felt that the reception staff could of been more friendier and welcoming as i did not feel welcomed when i arrived early hours in the morning.Swimming pools and rooms were very nice and clean and plenty of sunbeds for everyone. Salou had a good selection of supermarkets, restaurants and fantastic english, irish bars and night clubs. I would go back to this hotel later on in the year about the end of july for better weather.

Stayed at this hotel for 2 weeks and was brilliant! Lovely rooms, and a very clean hotel. Staff were friendly and very helpful. Bus journey from airport was quick and easy. The Delfin Park is in a great part of Salou, It is a 20minute walk to Portaventura which saves all the hassle of Bus Transfers etc! Shops, Restaurants, Bars etc are on your doorstep. Couldn't ask for any more. The only downer is the seating arrangments in the restaurant. You are placed with complete strangers if you are a couple or a small group of 3 etc. There are set times to go but after a couple of days we were just going when it suited us as long as it was after the time we were given to go, This was not a problem. Food in the restaurant morning and night was perfect for most people i'd say and i am quite a fussy eater! Walls in rooms are thin but in all honesty these small things can't overshaddow a great holiday hotel in a great location in a great part of Spain!Stayed June 21st to July 5th 2009. Enjoy.

we are a couple in our 50s and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. we were concerned after reading some bad reviews about this hotel but we found it clean, excellent food, very friendly and helpful staff, a good location not far from beach, bars and shops. the only things we would be critical about is thin walls, entertainment could have been better and the mini bar was not very cold. otherwise a good holiday and we will go to stay there again.

My boyfriend and I (aged 20) went to salou for the first time last year (19th Aug 08). I wasnt sure about going to salou as i had heard alot of different things about it. The flight over was great as was the transfer! Thomson reps waiting outside the terminal to direct us to the coach, very professional!!
As soon as we arrived at the hotel we checked in an straight away and was given access to our room. The key card gives you access to the room and powers the electricity as well. Room was good size with a spotless en suite (with hairdryer), air conditioning was sooooooo good, it was so cold at one point we had to turn it right down, balcony was great too, we had the biggest one as we were on the first floor in the corner!!
Staff were great(even tho their english and my spanish isnt great), we had a problem with some wee ants on the balcony but the maid came straight up with the ant killer to get rid of them. The hotel has two tvs in the lounge and five computers for internet access, they also have a gym and a games room for all ages. Bar staff and serving staff were very nice, especially the waiter we had at dinner, he made the effort to talk to us and remember what drinks we had ordered during the week. Food was great too, I am really fussy and dont eat much meat but they had a choice for everyone which I was pleased about.
The entertainment was good as well, real choice during the week we stayed at the delfin, they had flame throwers, flamenco dancers, singers and djs it was a good mix, they also had daytime programmes mostly for the kids.
The poolside could get quite busy but it wasnt a problem for us because we werent there to sunbathe, the pool was cold as you would expect but just too cold for me, my boyfriend thought it was great tho.
For me there was only a few problems:
you can hear everthing that your neighbours are doing as the walls seem to be quite thin.
We were right next door to the store room so the maids were crashing about trying to get the trolleys etc out of the room.
There was a fridge, tv and safe which all had to be paid for, which I was really surprise at as I thought it would be free with the room, but saying that we wouldnt have used the fridge as it looked like it hadnt been cleaned in a while.
When it comes to Salou I was surprised how much I actually liked it, I didnt know what to expect to be honest as this was our first holiday ever. There were 3 bars across from the hotel (robin hood, old brown cow & fox and the hound) the one I would really recommend is the robin hood, great food (especially the shepards pie) and great staff!!
The black bull is also a nice pub for a quick bite to eat.
We also drank in the ibrox bar and the rovers return during the week which was also two good pubs. The cafe right beside the ibrox bar does really good food including a great roll and sausage with black pudding(for us scots)!! The rovers return as the name suggests is a great english themed bar, during the day it was very quiet but really nice, the owner always asked us if we would like a movie put on for us which was really nice and the price of the drinks wasnt too bad either (just dont order cider anywhere in salou its about £4 a bottle, also the canned juices can be expensive like irn bru or pepsi at two euros per can, stick to draught) At night the rovers return was good fun, there were some kids games which even i found fun and I hate kids, plus there was a pop quiz, deal or no deal and a raffle. There were also beautiful restaurants along the sea front which I would recommend.
We went to the Aquopolis in la pineda it was good but food was expensive and dont walk there it took us nearly an hour not realising that a bus takes you straight to it and it only takes 20 mins and costs 3 euros 50 for two singles.
Only downside I found to Salou was:
how the people try to hassle you into buying something in the stalls and that on the first few days my partner and I were offered drugs by someone pretending to work for the restaurants.
all in all a really good holiday and would go back again !!

I booked this holiday on the basis that the reviews were great and appeared best of all of all the hotels I had found in Salou.... Never Again!
Don't get me wrong, the hotel was very beautiful and clean and tidy. It looks just as the pictures show if not better. But....
1. The walls are so thin that we could hear the neighbours on one side talking (without trying), coughing, sneezing, walking bare foot!! etc etc. The other side... their personals, if you get what I mean. I can't explain how bad it was other than I have not slept for a fortnight.
2. In the morning you are rudely awoken at around 8am with the maids shifting the furniture of the room above you - the first time this happens you think the roof is coming in - next door turning their tv onto a normal level which echoes your room (walls being soo thing!), toilets being flushed, showers running... etc etc.
3. Breakfast was nice, good selection - bacon, sausage, eggs etc etc. Rolls, Toasters, Cereal, paistries and preserves, ham, cheese etc. Served between 7:45 - 10:00.
4. The poolside was beautiful. There are far too many seats and tables around it and therefore not so much room for sunbeds without having to re-arrange it all yourself.
The sun doesn't hit the main pool until around 10:30-11:00 and there are many palm trees around the pool so it disappears around 4 - then you can spend until 6:30 chasing it around the shaded areas.
5. There are signs everywhere stating that you cannot reserve sunbeds and towels etc will be removed. What a joke.
There are also around only 10 sunbeds which are adjustable - if you are not by the pool before 08:30 then you have no chance of getting these nor are you going to get the areas where the sun hits for the longest each day. (There are plenty of other sunbeds, they are not adjustable though)
6. Dinner is at a SET time. - That did it for me. If you are a holiday maker who likes to plan their day with no conception of time - you're hungry when you're hungry - then a dinner at 6:15 or not at all is probably not for you either.
7. When you get to the restaurant you are likely to be seated with another crowd (mainly groups of 2 or 3). There will be plenty of empty tables around you so there is no need for this whatsoever.
8. You can change your time of dinner on a one nightly basis - at the discretion of the head waiter - The time is at 08:30 for 45mins. We did this once and got seated next to a German couple. Pointless.
When we asked to change to a table for just 2 for the next night (as the restaurant was just 1/4 full) they said that they had to ask the Chef's permission - absolute rubbish!
We did not eat in the restaurant again.
9. The selection for dinner was great, there was hot buffet, salads, fruits, breads, hams, cheese, and also a carvery.
Shame about the rest of it as we probably would have enjoyed it.
10. The hotel entertainment -
daytime - never saw/heard any!
evening - pretty much spanish music and dancing - no shows etc.
11. The air-con in the room is free - brilliant.
12. You have to pay 25 Euro for the use of the fridge for a week at a time.
13. The safety deposit box is 34 Euro with an additional 10 Euro deposit.
14. For a remote for the TV is 15 Euro.
15. The costs of food/drink is pretty much same as home, except from local beer and wine.
I loved the hotel, until I spent 24hrs there.
I can't emphasis enough how this hotel alone ruined our holiday and can only say 'I told you so' if you go ahead to book this.
Don't say I never warned you.

we stayed at the Delphin Park for a week from 8th May 2011 and were very happy on the whole with the hotel. We overlooked the back of the hotel which we didn't mind because it was very quiet and was nice to sit and have a drink. There was a bit of a safety issue I noticed on the balconies though - not an issue for us but there is a HUGE gap between the balcony wall and the floor and a small child could easily get their legs stuck in there. We were issued a time to eat which was way too early but that was easily changed without an issue. We noticed too that some couples were being made to sit with other couples they didn't even know - quite often they were'nt even the same nationality!! We were very lucky as we had our own table - bit regimented in my opinion - we prefer to sit where we please - which indeed was the case at breakfast. One thing which we couldn't quite believe was when we asked for a ice bucket for our wine the waiter said it was already cold!!!! I think he got a bit of a telling off for that!! It also took us quite a long time to get across that my husband needed a larger glass for his beer - the drinking glasses EVERYWHERE are so tiny!!! We ended up with about 12 glasses all the same size (small) on the table until we couldn't do anything for laughing!!! There was absolutely nothing happening at the hotel during the day - the kids club was never open and there was no entertainment. The majority of the guests were over 60 and the entertainment reflected this - it gradually got worse as the week went on!!! We always went out in the evenings so it wasn't a problem but it was always a laugh to see what was on this time! The surrounding area is really nice and there are plenty of bars, restaurants and cafes around; some lovely walks especially the coastal one and easy access on public transport to nearby towns - Nessabar is worth a visit - about 10 mins on the bus and has a lovely harbour and little town and some really nice places to eat. The beach is also lovely there and was practically deserted! Fabulous! The furthest bar on the strip which is also a restaurant is also a good place to stop and have a drink - there are some really comfy chairs and it's great to sit and read, have a drink and watch the world go by. We went to Barcelona on the train and loved it so much we went again on our last day!! It takes about an hour and a half on the train and was about £20 return for us both which was great value. One more thing to mention about the hotel itself is just what everyone else has been mentioning - the walls really ARE paper thin - so much so that I was glad the couple next door were french so that we couldn't understand what they were saying - had they been English they may have well been in the same room!!! I didn't believe people when they said just how much can be heard through those walls but trust me - you can hear EVERYTHING!!! Even on the balcony - I was sitting reading on evening and almost fell off the balcony when the guy on the balcony next door coughed - it sounded like he was right behind me and scared the living daylights out of me!!! On the whole it was an extremely relaxing, very welcome holiday and we have no major complaints about anything at all - just the picky little things which we just laughed off - if you go knowing what to expect they you will be fine
