Fantastic holiday! My 2nd trip to New York and by far the best place to stay. Staff are friendly. Rooms are clean & basic, but all you need to put your head down. Coffee machine, microwave, fridge & freezer in room. Location is spot on. Opposite one edge of the... more

Probably the best holiday ever! A great room, nice and clean. Lovely staff, hey what else can I say. Free safe you need staff to access it so no one else can get at it. Great location just off Time Square. Loads of good shops near by and loads of stuff to do. The hotel has... more

Fabulous location - just off Times Square. While I have been in better hotels, the combination of location, price and comfort make this one of my favourites. As a woman travelling alone, security was important to me, and I never felt uneasy or unsafe staying here. This... more

Wow what an amazing city!!! The sheer size and pace of New York means it is definitely not for the faint hearted - but for those brave enough it has something for everyone. There are some amazing sights to be seen but beware they are completely aimed at tourists and... more

Finally, a good NYC hotel experience
We stayed 5 nights and had the best experience I've had in an NYC hotel since I travelled on expense account. It's obviously not in the class of the Hilton, but it had the basics: -a decent-sized room -a clever, attractive renovation job -water pressure and plenty of hot water -good ventilation -a working TV and good reception on most channels -VERY quiet -exceptional location -working fridge, microwave and sink, close to take out and a grocery store in walking distance (Food Emporium on 8th Avenue) -staff occasionally smiled Mind you, we had a good room (we were in 3F so on the back and away from any renovation noises, and we didn't have to wait for the elevator), and got a good deal ($99/night). I would definitely recommend it and go back myself.
This Hotel was great for us!
My wife and I went for a getaway weekend and we loved this hotel. It was convenient to the subway, we went on the air train right from the JetBlue terminal and came up in the city a half block from the front door! Cost $7 from JFK to Midtown. The staff was nice and the refrigerator and microwave saved us a bunch on breakfasts and drinks. There are several places to eat within a half block and a deli/ store. The rooms are not the Ritz and there are few amenities but the price was great for being two blocks from times square and Rock center. We walked to see the Producers in about 5-10 minutes. There was daily room service and a free NYTimes each day. I will stay there again when I go. Great safe hotel for the price!
A real "find"!
We just returned from a weekend stay with our two girls. The hotel is just great; clean, nicely decorated and walking distance to so many places of interest! Would stay again in a heartbeat.
Loved it
We just stayed at this hotel (feb 04) with our two children (8 and 11) and found it very good. Location is ideal. The room was cleaned every day and was big enough for four. Our room had recently been renovated in the summer of '03. Only cons: elevators were a bit slow and we found ourselves sometimes having to go down 9 floors. The other con was that the room above us was being renovated and therefore it became a bit noisy after 0800 in the morning until about 1700. Since we were out of the room most of the day this was really a minor inconvenience. Besides these minor points we truely would go there again.
Central Location Near to Times Square
Arrived early December 2003 from the United Kingdom around 4pm with a party of Four two couples no room was ready after a while we were given a key to one room the size of a broom cupboard so that we could store our luggage by not so helpful staff when we did return at around 6pm they had found adjoing rooms for us on the first floor only just adequet with a d/bed sink fridge table two chairs and very small bathroom no television for three days windows were draughty not what we had envisaged from there website we were led to believe it was two apartments we had booked the whole block seems in need of a big facelift not to be recomended
Great place to stay
This was a great place to stay, $150 a night and right on Times Square, you can't beat it. Read some of the previous reviews, there were no homeless people in the building. The building is old as is every other building in New York. We loved it there. They even locked up our luggage for us after we checked out while we had a long wait for our transportation.
Frequent guest
I have stayed here a few dozen times and have never seen a street person in the lobby. The location is what we love the most-grocery & a subway stop at the corner, great little Italian restaurant a few doors down and a staff that has always been very attentive. Very similiar to European hotels. Accompanied some friends last Dec. as a "tour guide" and stayed at the Hilton and found Radio City Apts. much more accomodating for about 1/3 the price! If you like big hotels & fancy prices w/ huge crowds in the lobby, this is not the place to stay.
great experience
My boyfriend and I had numerous wonderful experiences as guests of Radio City Apartments. I have stayed in other high-end hotels and, believe me, Radio City Apartments does not need to emvy those hotels. The location was marvelous, We were able to walk to an amazing location for the Macy's Thanksgiving Parade; The entrance to key subway routes (including the route to go to ground-zero) was just two steps away; we were within walking distance to broadway and other New York must see places. Furthermore, there are several outstanding restaurants nearby, including a great NY pizza restaurant...yumm! The hotel was clean and cozy. Also, one time we left the hotel late at around 3:00 pm (on thanksgiving day) and when we got back our room had been made up and we had clean towels. Wewere so happily surprized. Other hotels after a certain time don't provide housekeeping. My boyfriend and I plan to stay here again when we return to New York and we also plan to recommend this hotel to our friends and family.
We Met Big !
We were over the moon with this apartment. After reading the review 'city dump' we were a bit worried. This guy couldn't have stayed in the same place. Round the corner from Times Square, in the middle of the theater district and minutes from Fifth Avenue. What more could 4 girls want ? Meeting Big from Sex in the City ? Well we met him too !!
For the price, for the location - no complaint
These apartments are right in the heart of Midtown, 30 seconds from the Rockerfeller Centre and the same from Times Square, so location could not be better. Pricewise, at least half of what you would pay for anything anywhere else in the area. The 2 bedroom apartment was spacious enough for 2 adults and 2 teenagers and kept spotlessly clean but it was in serious need of updating (I think other apartments had been renovated) - the bathroom in particular. And the lifts are a bit temperamental. Overall though, the location and price do the trick.
