We recently stayed in the Holday Inn Midtown in New York City.We had booked two rooms as close together as possible we were put opposite ends of the corridor. The restaurant was awful the staff could hardly understand english, the food was nearly always served up cold and had to be sent back nearly every time. We had thanksgiving dinner in the hotel it looked as if it was all thrown up in the air and let land on the plates. The rooms were old and shabby the bathrooms were cold and grubby, Room service when it finally arrived was cold and disgusting. We tried the food downstairs in the bar we ordered fish it had to be sent back it was still frozen. On our last day we asked for a porter to collect our bags after an hour and a half they told us they had forgotten and were extremely rude about it. I have stayed in Holiday Inns lots of times before but was very disappointed and upset with this one.

Myself and two friends stayed in this...

Jan 2007, Mrs L Anderson

Myself and two friends stayed in this hotel for 4 nights.
It has a "70's" look about it and most of the furniture looks like it has been there since the 70's! The room was adequate and clean enough however I was glad I was only here for 4 nights and we were not in the room much.
The hotel was on 57th and 9th, which was a good location and the 2 guys on the Information desk were helpful, however do not buy any theatre tickets here, as you can buy them much cheaper in Times Square.
I would not recommend this hotel.

We checked in to the Holiday Inn JFK...
7 / 10
Nov 2005, Mrs A.e Ebanks

We checked in to the Holiday Inn JFK for a 2-night stay. We checked in late at 12:30am and had to wait in a line of 5 people deep. Perhaps this is due to late arriving flights from JFK.
There was only one person working the front desk and she did not call for assistance to handle the other customers waiting. Only by chance that another hotel employee walked by, did he see there was a line and jumped in to help out.
The room itself was average. It was clean, which is what matters. The bathroom was also clean, however both the shower and sink did not drain well at all.
The restaurant provides a buffet style breakfast. I thought 15 dollars per person was a bit pricey for the limited selection. This breakfast was average at best. The service was poor...it took our waiter 15 minutes to run a credit card. My husband had to track him down in the back since we were waiting so long. Drive a few blocks down to the Dunkin Donuts and save yourself the money.
We also ate dinner in this same restaurant and found the dinner meal to be MUCH better than what we had sampled earlier in the morning. The meat was fresh, the vegetables perfect, and tons of bread (accompanied with butter at just the right temperature). The service for dinner was excellent as well.
All of the employees were courteous.
The strikers are still there, so be prepared to hear drums beating throughout the day.

Enjoyed my stay in this hotel. Quite central for where i wanted to visit. The concierge was excellent couldn’t be more helpful. Not that i could say the same for the front desk. Bit slow with service never in a hurry.
The room we where meant to be in was double booked they took there time in sorting it out. Apart from that the hotel was clean, nice and big room. Would recommend you go for your breakfast over the road to the star cafe much better service and cheaper.
