The Mayfair, where shall I start. A good all round family hotel.
The big down point not enough sunbeds, if you up after 9am you probably wont get a sunbed as towels are placed on them, even though the hotel said that they will chuck them off, I never did see this.
Spoke to manager about this and he said that 50 more beds were on order, so it may be slightly better now. I dont like to put towels on beds but when you have 3 young children that constantly want to use the small pool you have to sit by it, so I am afraid it was a case of "if you can beat them join them".
Hotel over all was clean and tidy. Maid cleaned every day except Wed (I think).
Rooms could do with a safety check, our fan in 2nd bedroom looked and sounded a bit dodgy.
Land around hotel a bit scruffy (waste land). Supermarket and ten pin bowling a two minute walk out the front of hotel but turn right down dirt track.
Harbour was to far to walk with young children. We had a car. There was enough bars and restaurants on bar st to keep you going. 10 min walk to bar st and the sea.

I absolutely loved this holiday. The people are lovely.
The only thing I must complain about is the other holiday makers putting towels on the beds in a morning then going out till about 3pm. I really did just want to go throw the towels in the pool.
Hotel was kept really clean. We ate in a fab restaurant called mothers we went there 5 times in 2 weeks and I never do that. I always go to different places, this was home cooked Cypriot food.

Mayfair apartments were clean,...

Oct 2006, Mrs M Barrows

Mayfair apartments were clean, spacious with helpful staff in the Kato Paphos area. There was a lot of entertainment provided for children and adults if you wanted it however there were plenty of things to do in the surrounding areas.
They had 2 good size pools and a good policy on reserving sun beds which meant no towels on beds all day with no people occupying them. There were pool tables, and even x-boxes in reception for kids to play on. Med hotels rep was great and gave the type of information you really want on holiday and wasn’t all sell, sell, sell. Jeep safari trip to the Troodos Mountains was well worth the money and a great laugh was had by all who went on.
The Mayfair is in a great location with supermarket and restaurants around the corner, the main bars, restaurants and bar street a ten minute walk away. Would recommend the Almond Tree, recommend you book a table and Othello’s (we went there three times) for great food at reasonable prices. The harbour restaurants tended to be more expensive. The waterhole pub plays good music and has a great atmosphere at w/ends.
Lighthouse beach is the nearest to the Mayfair about 15 minute easy walk with a great cafe bar on the beach. Coral bay beach is 20 minute bus ride (80p) good beach for swimming, jet skis etc but cafe bar not as good as lighthouse. Will definitely go back to Paphos and the Mayfair.

Sep 2006, Mr L Whitehead

This was our first time in this hotel and we loved it. There was plenty for the kids to do and plenty for me and the wife. We got there just before the restaurant was closing and they kept it open for us.
We found the staff really helpful and friendly especially Eleni (dolphin pool). Yes the rooms were basic but we didn’t pay to spend two weeks in our room. The only grumble we have is the food in the restaurant, it was too nice. I’ve probably put on three stone.
We will definately be booking for next year. The hotel was also ideally situated it was a ten minute walk to the harbour and the same to the old part of town, there is also a pretty good bus service running to and from these places for those who find walking a little difficult. All in all very impressed.

As this was my second time going to the Mayfair and have booked up for my third time going it has been amazing and I am confident this will be the same case next year.
The staff at the hotel have a lovely manner and are happy to help 24/7.The reception and lounge areas are very relaxing and laid back.

The meals are satisfactory for a 3 start hotel and will suit lots of people. Over all I think the hotel is a great hotel and excellent for children.

Aug 2005, Ms A Manser

Second time round for us at this hotel and we weren’t disappointed. Fab pools, excellent entertainment if you like the bingo/karaoke/kids disco type of thing. Lots to do in the day - volleyball, water polo etc. Apartments were as good as last year - not 5 star but well equipped and the air con is great!
Reception were always very helpful, it’s only a 10 minute walk to the centre of the town with loads of bars and great restaurants. Recommend Fat Mama’s on the Tomb of the Kings Road - excellent service and portions big enough for 4! Tip: Don’t have a starter cos there will be no room for your main course!
The area around the hotel is a bit rundown - but there is a great bakery and supermarkets really close by.
Only downside is that the hotel food wasn’t brilliant - we were SC but our friends ate in the hotel and said it was a bit samey every night. Breakfast was OK - we ate there a couple of times but is much cheaper and better in the Full Moon pub across the road. £1.50 for a full English with toast and jam.
If you like to join in the activities and have a bit of a laugh on holiday this is a great hotel/apartments.

4 / 10
Nov 2004,

The Mayfair is a run down hotel in a run down neighbourhood.
The location, moreover, seems further away from the Harbour area than the 1km claimed. The return journey if taken on foot, is up a long hill over in places, rough ground.
The elderly will be further discouraged from this 'Young at Heart' hotel by the fact that no porter service is volunteered and the lift is small, rickety and prone to failure. Failing services are a feature and we experienced a breakdown in water supply to our room as well as failures to the appliances in the dingy hostel reminiscent, dining room. The food matched the surroundings.
Escapees will find that tour operator trips are, typically, twice as expensive as those offered elsewhere. Stay at homes will find a secluded spot in the very pleasant gardens but this redeeming feature will not bring the Mayfair up to 3 star standard.
