We have just come back from holiday and were disappointed with our stay.
The hotel itself is clean and the food is satisfactory but it’s isolated and there is absolutely nowhere to walk to, hiring a car is essential if you want to visit other parts of Sicily.
The hotel caters more for the predominantly French guests so we felt left out. The evening entertainment consisted of old time dancing which we unfortunately are unable to do so we spent most evenings sitting in our room.
The hotel staff however were very friendly and tried to make us feel welcome.
There is a bus that runs into Cefalu with the last one coming back at 18.30 Cefalu itself is nice but is spoilt a little by having to dodge motor scooters and cars as there are no pavements in the old town.
The organised trips that we went on were great especially the trip up Mount Etna and the weather was beautiful but all in all we shall not be returning to Sicily.

Firstly, you should only consider this hotel if you can tolerate the predominantly French guests and their single minded approach.
The hotel itself is a large modern well appointed resort type situated on the side of a hill with a great view of the sun setting over the sea. We had no problems in communicating with the staff, who were helpful.
At meal times, we arrived early to avoid the crush, although there was no shortage of the well presented and in the main typically tasty Sicilian food. Which was washed down with the complementary bottle of local vino - with the help of a can of sprite.
We originally selected this hotel as it appeared to offer a great deal to keep our 2 children busy - a 7 year old boy and an 18 month girl. In this regard we were not disappointed as our 7 year old boy attended the mini club on several occasions - mixing with other French and Italian children with the help of the bi-lingual staff.
Although there are regular buses from the hotel to the beech and into town, we would recommend that a hire car is booked as you may feel a little isolated without one. In any case driving in Sicily has to be experienced.
In conclusion nice hotel - shame about the other guests.

This had to be the worst place for a Holiday in October!
No air conditioning, eating in a dining room with hundreds of other guests who were rude and pushy. By 7.45pm most of the decent food had gone, the fish was always dry and the pasta dishes were over salted.
The pool bar and the beach bar would only sell ham and cheese rolls at lunchtime. The hotel is isolated and no buses ran into the town after 6.30pm. The taxi fare was 32 euros return trip, that works out expensive for a weeks stay. THERE WAS NO ENTERTAINMENT if you did not speak French, we had to sit and watch the French guests enjoy quiz and game nights, no attempt was made to include the 140 British guests at all. The hotel has a motorway running 250 yards in front of it, and a dual carriageway, the access to the sports area was beyond that, so no way of safely getting there, or to the beach which was much further out still.
There was no escape in the evenings even just to stroll, that was a holiday from hell!
With no air conditioning the windows had to be left open all night and the traffic noise was constant, and why please did the lorries have to blow their musical horns every time they passed the hotel at night?

Sicily - Cefalu is a fabulous holiday destination. I spent 12 nights at the Club Costa Verdi - June 2004 and thoroughly enjoyed it. A large 4* hotel located a few kilometres outside Cefalu. The accommodation was comfortable and the food excellent (buffet style). The beech bar and pool bar were both open (high season) and there were lifeguards at the hotel pool and at the private beech.
The Animation Team were very professional and kept everyone entertained; no mean feat as we had 3 days of very wet/overcast weather. This hotel is very popular with French visitors and English is not widely spoken. A hire car, though expensive, is a must. There are buses to and from the beech and Cefalu but other attractions on Sicily really are worth visiting. The Greek temples at Agregento are spectacular. I found the temperatures in high season made it impossible to stay on the beech in the afternoon, so a car with air con. is a bonus.
The hotel wine, a rosé, free and available with lunch and dinner, deserves a special mention. It is something of an acquired taste and probably best avoided. I had a couple of glasses and I’m sure it has stripped the enamel off my teeth. Also all non- smokers beware, Sicily is a nicotine friendly Island.

WHAT A LOAD OF RUBBISH!!!!!!
A very disappointing hotel in an isolated location with limited and often unreliable TRANSPORT links to the town of Cefalu. Unless you hired a car you definitely felt captive as walking to the town was impossible due to the distance and lack of paths. If you tried it you would have had to walk along the side of a busy dual carriageway so no chance of any nice evening strolls to Cefalu from this hotel.
I am sure the isolation is intended and contributes to the sky high prices of snacks and drinks and the poor selection on offer.
The ROOMS are basic and definitely not worth a 4 Star Rating (beds are hard, scratched graffiti in the lifts and in the rooms) likewise the FOOD is very average buffet fair and that is being kind to it!! You really wouldn't believe Italy had some of the world's best food if this what you had to judge it by. English speaking guests are not catered for at all when it comes to the organised ENTERTAINMENT or activities and no effort is made to make them feel welcome.
As somebody who is half Italian myself I found that this hotel is a very poor advert for holidaying in Sicily and for Italy in general.
The hotels private beach is a bus journey away and the other side of the dual carriageway to Palermo. The beach is unpleasant with cigarette butts everywhere.
My advice to all British and American families is to stay well clear of this hotel as it is very poor for this day and age when you can get an awful lot better for your hard earned money.
Even if you are single or a couple without kids unless you are only after a bed and NOTHING more then find somewhere else as this place is pitiful.
