Comments:  This was our tenth visit to the King Jason and was as good as ever.We shall be returning in September for our next visit. The staff and management are outstanding and nothing is too much trouble. You should try the restaurant on site at least once and you would be hard pushed to equal it for price and quality.Andreas.if you read this thanks for another great stay and give all your staff our thanks.see you soon.
I would also like to make an observation which I hope a Thomson representative will read.We have just checked on the prices for a stay in Sept 09.You are quoting about £500 pounds more than this year.Have you lost the plot or are you deliberatly trying to put people off this fantastic hotel.A lot of the visitors to this hotel are repeat bookers and will be put off by your ridiculous prices. We will have to rethink visit twelve.

Comments:  Had a lovely stay, apartments very clean, well kept gardens & pool area, staff very helpful, down side, towels & maid service only every other day.
Hotel maneger Andraus very helpful, But if El Bronzo is about don't try and out tan him, it wont happen.
Cyprus has always been a little bit more expensive than the rest of Europe, but since the change from the Cypriot pound to the Euro the prices have risen dramatically.
Three course meal with drinks 40-50 Euro, pint of the local larger 3.50-5.00 Euro.

Comments:  Just returned on saturday night, and never felt need to write a review of anything, anywhere before, till now.
Overall a great holiday,in a hotel situated in a quiet residential part of town within easy walking distance of the town centre and usual pubs clubs shops ect.
Good points:
Clean comfortable,functional spacious rooms
Fantastic hotel staff that couldnt do enough for you
Quiet residential location,
Good inhouse shop, good local shop on door step.
Bad points:
Cats,and lots of them.
Charged me £49 euros for my safe (thought that was cheeky!!) not used to that.
"splodge" shaped "pool"...or puddle with ambition?
Pidgeons,on my air con unit waking me up every morning early (only on one side of hotel though, and only on the top rooms, where the aircon units allow pidgeon access)
limited timtable for eating, but decent food.
Advice, dont encourage the cats, dont go top floor on "pidgeon side"(other side has house Martins, that apparantly poo though?) and dont pay for a safe @ 3.5 euros a day!
Finally,if you like swimming............DONT GO,its a puddle with ambition.

Comments:  We flew out to cyprus on the 17th of may and arrived later that day at the LOUIS KING JASON on arrival i thought the outside of the appartments were very clean and tidy. when entering the reception i was overwhelmed at how immaculate the place was. it was beautiful. on arrival our bags were taken up to the appartments whilst we enjoyed a complimentary glass of fresh juice. Andreas the manager of the hotel was fabulous i have never met a man so helpful in my life. nothing was too much trouble for him. when i went to pick up a chair which was only a meter away i was told to put the chair down and he moved it for me. (what a gentleman)
My partner and i both stayed in a studio appartment (apt 26) to be precise and my family in another studio and others in a 1 bedroom apt, it was absolutley fantastic over looking the pool and with it being on the second floor the sun was on the balcony all day :)
the pool and surroundings were spotless and the studio very clean.

The bar staff at the appartments were also very helpful and always had smiles on their face and were happy to help.

This was my first time to Paphos and i will definately be visiting the king Jason Apts again later on in the year.

My only gripe with the whole of Paphos is that there are lots of cats roaming about the streets. which is not good when you are petrified of the things.

This has been the best holiday of my life.

Thanks Andreas and all staff at the King Jason

Comments:  Lovely complex with a most attentive hotel manager, Andreas, who is always on hand to sort any problems out or to have a friendly chat. Only problem is that Thomson brochure stated that the apartments were situated in quiet residential area, yes they are, however no mention is made of main road which is situated adjacent to apartments and which generated lots of noise, especially at night making sleeping difficult.
Apartment room themselves were spacious with adequate facilities, however could do with a better clean, towels changed every other day and small complimentary gifts left on arrival and departure.
Hotel restaurant served wonderful buffet meals and the waiter service was exceptional.
Location was well placed for the municiple beach and exploring the historical sites of paphos which were all within walking distance.
Yes, there are lots of cats around the complex, however for cat lovers like us, this made our holiday, as all the cats are all very friendly and well fed and just want a bit of love and attention, something we, unlike some of the other guests who were openly cruel, were only too happy to give.
Overall a good holiday and would not hesitate to return, especially if hotel still under Andreas's management.

Comments:  Just got back from Cyprus today and for the first time ever I feel compelled to write a review. We thought the King Jason apartments were fantastic! The apartments themselves were spacious, clean and extremely well equipped. All the staff were friendly, polite, always willing to help and always with a smile on their faces. Little touches mean a lot and we were greeted with fresh juice on arrival (very welcome after an early start and four hour flight), a bottle of brandy in our apartment to welcome us and a jar of honey on the last day to bring home with us. The towels and bed linen were changed three times in the week that we stayed and the apartments cleaned at the same time (no complaints about cleaning from us). The pool was always clean and sunbed cushions (lovely - no white plastic in sight!) were wiped down every morning. Andreas, the manager, was nearly always a visible prescence on site and never too busy for a chat (discovered he studied in Liverpool and supports LFC). Great facilities on site (gym, indoor pool, pool tables, table tennis, air hockey......) especially considering this is not a large complex (only 78 apartments). Also there is a play park for children. Yes, there are a few cats around but our children loved them and they don't bother with you if you don't take any notice of them. If you are looking for a lively complex then this is not for you as there is no entertainment at night but the bar and seating area are perfect for just relaxing after a day in the sun.
It is about a ten minute walk to the harbour, shops and restaurants and the nearest decent beach (Coral Bay) is a 15 minute bus ride away (but ticket on bus only cost about £1) but we would not have changed a thing about the King Jason! It is in a fairly quiet residential area so not for those wanting nightlife on your doorstep.
The only people who I could see would be disappointed would be those who do not do their research before booking their holidays. We went with high expectations, having read other reviews and we were not let down in any way. We would definitely recommend these apartments and would definitely book them again the next time we go to Cyprus. Many thanks, Andreas and all your staff!

Comments:  Just got back from an absolutely fantastic break at the King Jason apartments. The staff are fantastic - will do anything to help and always stop for a chat.
Facilities include an outdoor pool, outdoor paddling pool surrounded by sunbeds - plenty for everyone. There is an inside heated pool, sauna, steam room and gym, games room, restaurant and bar. There is a shop on site plus mini-markets and supermarkets just round the corner.
There is a sun terrace made up of double sunbeds and loads of cushions and comfort. There is a kids playpark which my kids loved.
Thomson provide a kids club - the reps were so friendly. Welcome meeting was wonderful - very imformative - included a complimentary glass of Cypriot wine which was lovely.
Apartments have balconies, tv, radio, hairdryers, tons of complimentary goods and a bottle of brandy on arrival and jar of Cypriot honey on departure. All have air conditioning and heating if needed in the winter months.
Five minute walk away to Georgias - a fantastic real Cypriot restaurant with set meals and offering the largest 'meze' in the area - 24 dishes, and the staff explain what each food is. Also set menus and English food. This restaurant was recommended to me and I am forwarding this on!
No complaints whatsoever - will be venturing back as soon as finances allow which is unusual for us as we tend to try different places every year.

Comments:  The King Jason apartments are spacious, well equipped, and towels are changed very regularly. The hotel is well designed, and the reception, lounge area and restuarant are immaculate, and attractive. Our holiday was for two weeks, and we decided to pre-book 7 days breakfast. Every other day we went to the dining room and had a superb buffet breakfast, with a wide choice of good. We also ate in the restaurant a couple of times. The manager Mr Andreas Kyriacou is brilliant, and I have never come across a hotel where ALL the staff are so good at their jobs, and so very pleasant, without exception. A great base for the island.

Comments:  Myself, my girlfriend and her 5 year old have just come back from the King Jason. Overall the holiday was fantastic. The King Jason is a very nice and relaxing environment. The rooms were well presented and clean, and were suitable for the three of us. Andreas, the manager, was very friendly and was always very attentive to sort out any problems we had (no suprise there). I would recommend hiring a car for at least a few days - we travelled to Carlos beach and visitied the coast, all of which was no more than an hour's drive. We also drove to Limassol (again an hour's drive) – it was very busy and had loads of shops. With it being self catering we had the opportunity to eat when we liked and managed to eat out every night (the price for 3 meals and drinks cost an average of 25 Euros ( equivalent to approx £18.00 sterling) which was good value for money. The food at the local bars and restaurants was of good quality and all the locals were very polite and helpful (particularly with a 5 yr old) - we even got a meal free on our last night, courtesy of the manager of a Greek retaurant. The only bad points are that it was out of season when we went so a lot of the attractions (water park and the aquarium) were closed. There was a lot of building work in the harbour aswell. With it being February the weather wasn't that great – just 2 days out of 7 with sunshine. Neverthless it was a very relaxing and peaceful holiday, and the King Jason has enough facilities to keep kids happy (indoor pool, kids club every day and games area). We will certainly be back in the Summer when the weather is hot.

Comments:  The apartments were fairly spacious, the staff always helpful and the manager seemed to be there all day over seeing everything. The ten minute or so walk to the harbour was not too tiring and well worth the effort especially at night, although ask Maria on reception the way. The Full Moon pub just around the corner from the apartments does a good value full breakfast until 4Pm for 1.9 Cy Pnds.

Comments:  Good size rooms but never cleaned properly.

Staff very polite, helpful and friendly.

Nice enough food available but only at certain times of the day.

Overall no way is this a 4 star place, I would say 2 or 3 star at best, would not stay again.

Comments:  Overall good but not great. It had its very good points and it's very bad points. Lovely reception area, but cats absolutely everywhere crawling all over the tables and chairs and lounging on the floors.

Nice Pool area but it was quite small and I thought it too full of noisy kids unfortunately. I noticed some people had put towels by the pool at half two in the morning lol even though there was no need really it wasn't that busy.

Some nice touches bottle of Ouzo on arrival and some Jam at the end of our stay.

About a ten to fifteen minute walk to the harbour. You are a little out of the way and it's not a particularly pleasant walk past the stinky bins and grubby streets especially when it's so hot, but it has good restaurants in the harbour area and bar street although they are overpriced. We found a nice bar called Friends which was cheaper than the ones on bar street but still next to it
Grazie Italian was good but pricey and Alkion on bar street for a mezze.

I thought the rooms looked a bit tired, glad I wasn't sleeping on the sofas as the mattresses bowed in the middle, don't know where they go the picture of that bedroom from above, must be the honeymoon suite cos the rooms look nothing like that.

The one MAJOR problem we had was with the bathroom I've seen nicer ones in a 2 star hotel.
My 6 foot 3 boyfriend couldn't even stand up in bathroom and it was even worse when he got in the pathetic bath and shower as he had to stoop over double almost just to get under, the bed
room itself was a good size though noisy air con.

Overall I’d say more of a nice 3 star hotel than a 4 star apart from the reception which was nice and plush.

DO NOT GO ON EGYPT TRIP we complained as you only actually get to spend about thirty to forty minutes at the pyramids, we were sorely disappointed however they think nothing of dragging you to a gold shop and a papyrus shop and locking you in there for up to an hour each to buy things. So two hours in gifts shops and thirty five minutes at the pyramids sorry but not what I signed up for so BEWARE of this.

Comments:  Recently stayed at the King Jason and was disappointed that it is advertised with Thomson as Kidzone. Having chose most of my hols with Thomson for its kidzone activities for children, I was dissatisfied along with all the parents I had spoke to about the lack of activities for children.

Yes there was kids club but no daytime activities around the pool, and there were no evening activities for the children to enjoy with the parents. Having two young children under 6 we found there was nothing to do which was quite boring for them.

The hotel is nice and is suitable for couples and retired people who enjoy the secluded tranquil setting.

The food served was good but the snack bar closed at 3pm and no food was available until 6.30, which was not very good for small children.

The restaurant is situated in the main reception and has a divider to separate but it makes it very cramped and imposing on those sitting in reception waiting for taxis and checking in/out.

Andreas and Maria were excellent at making you feel very welcome, as they were very friendly.

You really could do with a hire car, as it is a long walk in the 40 degree heat to the restaurants and shops each day.

The rooms are spacious but the air conditioning is very noisy at night keeping us awake quite a bit. The facilities in the apartments are good and the TV had sky sports 1, BBC news, and MGM (an old movie channel) again though no children’s TV.

The onsite supermarket was very expensive and a couple of times I heard people complaining about out of date English biscuits and prices being changed daily to almost double the ticket price on the day before.

The harbour is lovely and there is abundance of restaurants and bars to suit all.

I love Cyprus but wouldn't go back to King Jason.

Comments:  My boyfriend and I went to Cyprus and stayed at the King Jason for a week at the end of August. Although the King Jason was a nice place, it was a little too quiet for us and a bit too much out of the way.

The hotel consists of families and is great for families with small children, however as the pool is only small itself it got very crowded and noisy! There was no daytime or evening entertainment either. The weather itself was amazing, boiling hot every single day.

My boyfriend and I spent our last few days at the beach as there was a breeze there and by the pool was unbearable in that heat. The rooms were very basic but they were clean enough and had everything you needed, however as the aircon only works in the bedroom, it took a bit of getting used to. Staff were very friendly and at first we thought drinks at the pool bar were reasonable but after being at the harbour for a few nights, we soon realised they were a little expensive (2 cokes CY£5.60 - at the harbour they were about CY£2.60).

The harbour of a night-time was nice, nice restaurants and it was lovely eating overlooking the water. Reasonably priced as well. Bar Street is very loud and lively. We went there on the first night and that was the only night. Barmen were very enthusiastic and gave us about 10 free shots each so we didn’t enjoy the next morning. Be careful of the guys and girls trying to get you into there bars and pestering you. However we visited a few quieter bars on the front which are nicer to relax in.

We hired a speedboat for an hour which was really good fun, try and haggle a bit with the guys though. We also went on a speedboat trip called 'tiger boat', it was described as a 'rollercoaster on water – ‘wave jumping' its certainly not, for those who want to relax, but that was a really good adventure and even though it only lasted about 25 minutes, it was worth it.

Overall the holiday was amazing, I would give my overall holiday and Paphos 10/10 but I would only give the King Jason 8/10.

Comments:  We came back from our 10 day holiday yesterday and all we can say is that the previous reviews on this hotel were spot on - what a great hotel!

It is located about 10-15 minutes from the centre of Paphos which isn't too far to walk but can be a little tiring during the day with the heat in July. We had 74% humidity so sweating off the previous evening's dinner from the excellent on site restaurant wasn't hard!

By the way... do eat in the hotel a few nights. Cyprus is expensive, but the quality of food in the hotel restaurant was first class and for only Cyp£9.95 each you are treated to a 4 course meal with Port or Keo Brandy at the end. It is a buffet style meal, but the value, quantity and choice is exceptional and you will not find nicer food in any of the restaurants in Paphos itself.

As it is located in a residential area it is very quiet, but the bars are not too far away. Paphos itself is one of the better areas on the island which cater for tourists - Limmasol looked like a nightmare when we drove through with high-rise apartments all over, so we we're thankful we chose this resort.

The hotel itself offers a high standard of accomodation and the apartments have 2 air-conditioning units - 1 in the bedroom and 1 in the lounge. TV, Microwave, Electric Hob, Oven, Kettle etc are all included in the room. However as for most self caterers we just had a spot of breakfast and maybe a sandwich during the day so we never really took full advantage of these facilities. The electric points in the room we're all UK 3-pin design so no need for travel adaptors etc.

On arrival the staff had left a bottle of Keo Brandy in our room which was a nice gift to welcome us and on departure we we're left a jar of honey and a note thanking us for stopping with them - two very nice touches we thought.

The pool area is a nice and relaxing place to spend most of your day soaking up the sun and the bar is open from early in the morning until midnight and offers a great choice of drinks and food. The small supermarket on site has a great choice of drinks and food also, so you don't have to go far to get essential items.

Andreas (the hotel manager) wanders around the hotel from 8.00am until 8.00pm and works very hard to ensure your holiday goes without a hitch. For a few days we thought he was British but he told us that he moved back to Cyprus 25 years ago from the UK. If you need any questions answering he is the guy to ask, but saying that all of the staff were excellent. Both polite and put themselves out to help you enjoy your holiday as much as possible.

We would recommend hiring a car for a few days to go and see the sites. We travelled with Thomson and both the excursions and car hire was very expensive. Just behind the hotel we found a car hire firm next to the supermarket. Cyp£22.00 per day for a brand new Ford Fiesta including full insurance... Thomson wanted Cyp£40.00 per day for the same car and Cyprus is expensive enough without being over charged by them!

Once you have your car you can easily explore the island and local resorts. Nicosia is about 2hrs 30 mins away via the motorway and Limmasol is approx 1hr. Locally you will find the Tomb of the Kings which is a nice place to visit if you like greek history and only costs Cyp£1.00 each to get in. The mosaics near to the harbour are a little boring, but I suppose when you're there it's probably worth a visit.

Overall we had a great time and went away just to relax rather than party so the King Jason is perfect for this.

Would be go back? Yes
Same hotel? Yes
Recommend? Yes

Great hotel, lovely staff, the best self catering holiday we have ever had!
