Louis King Jason Reviews
" Peaceful Holiday "
Submitted By: LashrowWhile we did have a lovely time i do feel it necessary to mention a few down sides to these one bed apartments.
Firstly location, its not really a short walk to the harbour, we had a 3 year old and 7 year old with us and, in the heat, walking all the way to the harbour was hard going for them, even when we found a short cut!In the end we were using lots of taxi's to get around and they charged us 8 euros to harbour.
The kitchenette is a bit of a squish, hob, sink, draining board with the microwave sat on hob and draining board with kettle and toaster on top of it. On the plus side they did provide all the thngs you don't usually expect in sc such as washing up liquid, tea towel, dish cloth.
We definatley feel like we've had a peaceful holiday as it was coming to the end of season it was very quiet so the kids got to play in the pools all day, both of which we always found clean and the cushioned sun beds were fantastic. The kidzone staff were very helpful and friendly.
The food on site was lovely too but be aware soft drinks were expensive, 4.10 euros for blackcurrant cordial and water!
There are lots and lots of cats, everywhere! While they are in restaurants and at the harbour it doesn't seem to bother the locals and they don't shoo them away so if you're not a cat person Cyprus might not be for you.
One last point if you like waterparks the Aphrodite park in Paphos is fantastic, we wished we'd bought a famly pass so we could have gone for a few days it keeps all kids, big and little, busy non stop all day!
Advice: We didn't find a good beach just pebbles.
Activities: Aphrodite water park a must. Poisidonas restaurants moussaka is delicious, staff very friendly.

Submitted By: Mrs Diane WilsonI would also like to make an observation which I hope a Thomson representative will read.We have just checked on the prices for a stay in Sept 09.You are quoting about £500 pounds more than this year.Have you lost the plot or are you deliberatly trying to put people off this fantastic hotel.A lot of the visitors to this hotel are repeat bookers and will be put off by your ridiculous prices. We will have to rethink visit twelve.

Submitted By: Mr RAY HUMPHREYHotel maneger Andraus very helpful, But if El Bronzo is about don't try and out tan him, it wont happen.
Cyprus has always been a little bit more expensive than the rest of Europe, but since the change from the Cypriot pound to the Euro the prices have risen dramatically.
Three course meal with drinks 40-50 Euro, pint of the local larger 3.50-5.00 Euro.

Submitted By: Newcastle1Overall a great holiday,in a hotel situated in a quiet residential part of town within easy walking distance of the town centre and usual pubs clubs shops ect.
Good points:
Clean comfortable,functional spacious rooms
Fantastic hotel staff that couldnt do enough for you
Quiet residential location,
Good inhouse shop, good local shop on door step.
Bad points:
Cats,and lots of them.
Charged me £49 euros for my safe (thought that was cheeky!!) not used to that.
"splodge" shaped "pool"...or puddle with ambition?
Pidgeons,on my air con unit waking me up every morning early (only on one side of hotel though, and only on the top rooms, where the aircon units allow pidgeon access)
limited timtable for eating, but decent food.
Advice, dont encourage the cats, dont go top floor on "pidgeon side"(other side has house Martins, that apparantly poo though?) and dont pay for a safe @ 3.5 euros a day!
Finally,if you like swimming............DONT GO,its a puddle with ambition.

Submitted By: Miss C.A STEWARDMy partner and i both stayed in a studio appartment (apt 26) to be precise and my family in another studio and others in a 1 bedroom apt, it was absolutley fantastic over looking the pool and with it being on the second floor the sun was on the balcony all day :)
the pool and surroundings were spotless and the studio very clean.
The bar staff at the appartments were also very helpful and always had smiles on their face and were happy to help.
This was my first time to Paphos and i will definately be visiting the king Jason Apts again later on in the year.
My only gripe with the whole of Paphos is that there are lots of cats roaming about the streets. which is not good when you are petrified of the things.
This has been the best holiday of my life.
Thanks Andreas and all staff at the King Jason

Submitted By: Mrs C StoneApartment room themselves were spacious with adequate facilities, however could do with a better clean, towels changed every other day and small complimentary gifts left on arrival and departure.
Hotel restaurant served wonderful buffet meals and the waiter service was exceptional.
Location was well placed for the municiple beach and exploring the historical sites of paphos which were all within walking distance.
Yes, there are lots of cats around the complex, however for cat lovers like us, this made our holiday, as all the cats are all very friendly and well fed and just want a bit of love and attention, something we, unlike some of the other guests who were openly cruel, were only too happy to give.
Overall a good holiday and would not hesitate to return, especially if hotel still under Andreas's management.

Submitted By: Mrs N PopeIt is about a ten minute walk to the harbour, shops and restaurants and the nearest decent beach (Coral Bay) is a 15 minute bus ride away (but ticket on bus only cost about £1) but we would not have changed a thing about the King Jason! It is in a fairly quiet residential area so not for those wanting nightlife on your doorstep.
The only people who I could see would be disappointed would be those who do not do their research before booking their holidays. We went with high expectations, having read other reviews and we were not let down in any way. We would definitely recommend these apartments and would definitely book them again the next time we go to Cyprus. Many thanks, Andreas and all your staff!

Submitted By: mummyminderFacilities include an outdoor pool, outdoor paddling pool surrounded by sunbeds - plenty for everyone. There is an inside heated pool, sauna, steam room and gym, games room, restaurant and bar. There is a shop on site plus mini-markets and supermarkets just round the corner.
There is a sun terrace made up of double sunbeds and loads of cushions and comfort. There is a kids playpark which my kids loved.
Thomson provide a kids club - the reps were so friendly. Welcome meeting was wonderful - very imformative - included a complimentary glass of Cypriot wine which was lovely.
Apartments have balconies, tv, radio, hairdryers, tons of complimentary goods and a bottle of brandy on arrival and jar of Cypriot honey on departure. All have air conditioning and heating if needed in the winter months.
Five minute walk away to Georgias - a fantastic real Cypriot restaurant with set meals and offering the largest 'meze' in the area - 24 dishes, and the staff explain what each food is. Also set menus and English food. This restaurant was recommended to me and I am forwarding this on!
No complaints whatsoever - will be venturing back as soon as finances allow which is unusual for us as we tend to try different places every year.

Submitted By: Mrs R FitzgeraldCyprus is a very nice place to visit, as everything is so easy - drive the same side of the road, lot of English spoken and the Cypriots are very friendly.
Hire a car and venture out of Paphos and you will be rewarded with spectacular coastal and mountain scenery, villages where time stands still, herds of goats and of course Cyprus cats! Some of the roads are not what we are used to, but are passable. A 4x4 hire car will take you anywhere without too much trouble.
There are loads of places to eat and were very reasonable. We found a place where you could have a three course evening meal for £5 Cyprus currency. The food was plentiful and very nice.
We are planning to revisit Paphos and would definitely stay at the King Jason again.

Submitted By: Miss K GillespieNice Pool area but it was quite small and I thought it too full of noisy kids unfortunately. I noticed some people had put towels by the pool at half two in the morning lol even though there was no need really it wasn't that busy.
Some nice touches bottle of Ouzo on arrival and some Jam at the end of our stay.
About a ten to fifteen minute walk to the harbour. You are a little out of the way and it's not a particularly pleasant walk past the stinky bins and grubby streets especially when it's so hot, but it has good restaurants in the harbour area and bar street although they are overpriced. We found a nice bar called Friends which was cheaper than the ones on bar street but still next to it
Grazie Italian was good but pricey and Alkion on bar street for a mezze.
I thought the rooms looked a bit tired, glad I wasn't sleeping on the sofas as the mattresses bowed in the middle, don't know where they go the picture of that bedroom from above, must be the honeymoon suite cos the rooms look nothing like that.
The one MAJOR problem we had was with the bathroom I've seen nicer ones in a 2 star hotel.
My 6 foot 3 boyfriend couldn't even stand up in bathroom and it was even worse when he got in the pathetic bath and shower as he had to stoop over double almost just to get under, the bed
room itself was a good size though noisy air con.
Overall I’d say more of a nice 3 star hotel than a 4 star apart from the reception which was nice and plush.
DO NOT GO ON EGYPT TRIP we complained as you only actually get to spend about thirty to forty minutes at the pyramids, we were sorely disappointed however they think nothing of dragging you to a gold shop and a papyrus shop and locking you in there for up to an hour each to buy things. So two hours in gifts shops and thirty five minutes at the pyramids sorry but not what I signed up for so BEWARE of this.

Advice: A very friendly place full of history that needs time to explore.
Activities: Enjoyed eating at The Moorings near the harbour and loved hiring a speed boat for an hour.
Good for: Beach
