Louis King Jason Reviews
" My boyfriend and I went to Cyprus and... "
Submitted By: Miss J GoreThe hotel consists of families and is great for families with small children, however as the pool is only small itself it got very crowded and noisy! There was no daytime or evening entertainment either. The weather itself was amazing, boiling hot every single day.
My boyfriend and I spent our last few days at the beach as there was a breeze there and by the pool was unbearable in that heat. The rooms were very basic but they were clean enough and had everything you needed, however as the aircon only works in the bedroom, it took a bit of getting used to. Staff were very friendly and at first we thought drinks at the pool bar were reasonable but after being at the harbour for a few nights, we soon realised they were a little expensive (2 cokes CY£5.60 - at the harbour they were about CY£2.60).
The harbour of a night-time was nice, nice restaurants and it was lovely eating overlooking the water. Reasonably priced as well. Bar Street is very loud and lively. We went there on the first night and that was the only night. Barmen were very enthusiastic and gave us about 10 free shots each so we didn’t enjoy the next morning. Be careful of the guys and girls trying to get you into there bars and pestering you. However we visited a few quieter bars on the front which are nicer to relax in.
We hired a speedboat for an hour which was really good fun, try and haggle a bit with the guys though. We also went on a speedboat trip called 'tiger boat', it was described as a 'rollercoaster on water – ‘wave jumping' its certainly not, for those who want to relax, but that was a really good adventure and even though it only lasted about 25 minutes, it was worth it.
Overall the holiday was amazing, I would give my overall holiday and Paphos 10/10 but I would only give the King Jason 8/10.

Submitted By: Miss C HoganThe reception was very impressive. When we arrived at 2am there was somebody waiting to take us to our room and he even carried our cases for us!
The rooms were very large and clean and had everything you could possibly need in them, you could quite easily live there! We even had a bottle of wine waiting for us when we arrived and a pot of honey half way through the week. I thought this was a lovely gesture.
The pool area was great and there was no difficulty getting a lounger. Nobody put towels on the loungers to reserve them which i thought was good. The indoor pool was freezing, the gym was great, but unfortunately the sauna was not in use during my stay.
The only downside to this holiday is the location it is absolutely miles away from shops, restaurants, bars etc. I found it very irritating having to walk backwards and forwards every time you wanted to get something to eat or go to the beach. The walk back is mostly up hill and is very tiring in the heat.
I did not feel at all safe at night as the hotel is in a VERY residential area and nobody around the hotel speaks a word of English. So we opted to drink in the hotel bar most nights and found this to be very relaxing but almost deserted.
This hotel is brilliant if you want a quiet relaxing holiday miles away from civilization but if you want to get out and explore I would recommend a hotel closer to the harbour.
Pathos itself is lovely and would definitely return although not to the King Jason as it was too residential for me. I also highly recommend hiring a car and exploring the island as we did. The tomb of the kings is a MUST, it is phenomenal. I hope this review helps.
" We came back from our 10 day holiday... "
Submitted By: Mr N GreenIt is located about 10-15 minutes from the centre of Paphos which isn't too far to walk but can be a little tiring during the day with the heat in July. We had 74% humidity so sweating off the previous evening's dinner from the excellent on site restaurant wasn't hard!
By the way... do eat in the hotel a few nights. Cyprus is expensive, but the quality of food in the hotel restaurant was first class and for only Cyp£9.95 each you are treated to a 4 course meal with Port or Keo Brandy at the end. It is a buffet style meal, but the value, quantity and choice is exceptional and you will not find nicer food in any of the restaurants in Paphos itself.
As it is located in a residential area it is very quiet, but the bars are not too far away. Paphos itself is one of the better areas on the island which cater for tourists - Limmasol looked like a nightmare when we drove through with high-rise apartments all over, so we we're thankful we chose this resort.
The hotel itself offers a high standard of accomodation and the apartments have 2 air-conditioning units - 1 in the bedroom and 1 in the lounge. TV, Microwave, Electric Hob, Oven, Kettle etc are all included in the room. However as for most self caterers we just had a spot of breakfast and maybe a sandwich during the day so we never really took full advantage of these facilities. The electric points in the room we're all UK 3-pin design so no need for travel adaptors etc.
On arrival the staff had left a bottle of Keo Brandy in our room which was a nice gift to welcome us and on departure we we're left a jar of honey and a note thanking us for stopping with them - two very nice touches we thought.
The pool area is a nice and relaxing place to spend most of your day soaking up the sun and the bar is open from early in the morning until midnight and offers a great choice of drinks and food. The small supermarket on site has a great choice of drinks and food also, so you don't have to go far to get essential items.
Andreas (the hotel manager) wanders around the hotel from 8.00am until 8.00pm and works very hard to ensure your holiday goes without a hitch. For a few days we thought he was British but he told us that he moved back to Cyprus 25 years ago from the UK. If you need any questions answering he is the guy to ask, but saying that all of the staff were excellent. Both polite and put themselves out to help you enjoy your holiday as much as possible.
We would recommend hiring a car for a few days to go and see the sites. We travelled with Thomson and both the excursions and car hire was very expensive. Just behind the hotel we found a car hire firm next to the supermarket. Cyp£22.00 per day for a brand new Ford Fiesta including full insurance... Thomson wanted Cyp£40.00 per day for the same car and Cyprus is expensive enough without being over charged by them!
Once you have your car you can easily explore the island and local resorts. Nicosia is about 2hrs 30 mins away via the motorway and Limmasol is approx 1hr. Locally you will find the Tomb of the Kings which is a nice place to visit if you like greek history and only costs Cyp£1.00 each to get in. The mosaics near to the harbour are a little boring, but I suppose when you're there it's probably worth a visit.
Overall we had a great time and went away just to relax rather than party so the King Jason is perfect for this.
Would be go back? Yes
Same hotel? Yes
Recommend? Yes
Great hotel, lovely staff, the best self catering holiday we have ever had!

Submitted By: Miss C BushWe have had the best holiday, the apartments were nice and clean. The staff cannot be more helpful and friendly and as you may have read in previous comments the manager Andreas is a really nice guy who will make sure your stay is the best.
We had dinner and had a couple of meals on a night at the hotel, the food is really nice although the second time we ate at the hotel was not as nice as the first time and was a little disappointing.
The only reason I have not given it a 10 out of 10 is just because of the location it was a little out of the way but it’s not too bad.
There were some lovely restaurants nearby you must go to Fat Mamas which is brilliant it’s like TGI Fridays but with entertainment while you eat, it’s not too in your face though its only for about 10 mins and the food is great.
Another place we liked was Almond tree which if you fancy a Chinese are lovely although that’s not all they serve. If you want to get a taxi they will charge you between £4 - £5 CYP pounds to go anywhere on the island so even if you’re only going down the road it will be the same.
Anyway we had an ace time and would without a doubt stay at King Jason again, I’m already wondering about booking for next yr.

Submitted By: Mrs B.J. LayThis was our first visit to Cyprus and feel we made a great choice of accommodation and country as the people of the island were very friendly.

Submitted By: Mrs C GuestHaving read the reviews prior to going I was still a little sceptical because not everyone likes the same things.
However, the majority were spot on. Andreas (the manager) and this team must be commended for the way the hotel is run, there was always a friendly smile and a helping hand if needed.
Small gestures such as a cold glass of orange juice on arrival after a long journey, cool cloths at the pool side during the day to freshen up and a pot of jam as a thank you on the day of departure goes a long way.
Our studio was in a great position overlooking the pool, it was very well equipped with all that was needed for self catering, very clean and comfortable.
Although this hotel is in a residential area the relaxing walk down to the harbour takes approximately 15 minutes the walk back is greatly appreciated after having eaten huge meals in some superb restaurants.
The Chinese restaurant - Palace, an Italian restaurant further down and an Indian restaurant opposite the Palace were excellent places to eat and in our opinion good value for money.
Paphos is an absolutely fabulous place and I would highly recommend it, can't wait to return in the near future and we would definitely stay at the King Jason.
" This apartment complex is brilliant!... "
Submitted By: Mr E J PurvisWe have no complaints but only praise as we have now stayed 20 times since 1996 - it is definitely our second home and we enjoy the totally relaxing and comfortable atmosphere.
It is a little oasis of peace and tranquillity located between Kato and Pano Paphos with comfortable apartments and good facilities.
The food in the restaurant is very good and excellent value.
We are looking forward to our next holiday there in October!

Submitted By: Miss K FrostThe lady in the onsite supermarket is also fantastic and really made an effort to speak to us in particular our two children who loved her!
The hotel is very clean and tidy, and the food is excellent! Not the type of food I expected. However take plenty of money because Cyprus is not your typical Spanish prices at the hotel a can of coke was £0.55 which is about 68 pence!!
Our biggest mistake was not going half board as the hotel is about a twenty minute walk from the main strip of restaurants bars and really any life.
One thing that I would of liked is for the hotel to have entertainment at night, I found our children bored easily and needed something to entertain them. I particularly enjoyed a Friday evening at the king Jason where it is free cocktails one week and wine the next.
Overall a excellent hotel with excellent food and excellent staff.
(Except for the Thomson rep that was very unhelpful and hard to find!).
" Everything that has been said about... "
Submitted By: Mrs Sm CaseYou cannot go wrong if you have booked this hotel. The hotel is about a twenty minute walk to the harbour and the same to the old town.
Some of the historical sites are also quite nearby.
We highly recommend the Windmill restaurant for its fantastic food at very good prices. If you turn immediately left out of the hotel down a track to the main road then just keep walking down, you will find all the restaurants etc. They are about a fifteen minute walk.
The beach is about twenty five minutes away near to the harbour.

Submitted By: Mrs B SeddonThe hotel was great and the food was excellent and a wide choice every night.
The complimentary brandy and wine at dinner was a very good gesture.
The manager seems to be every where and the small bottle of brandy in the bedroom when we arrived, and a jar of jam when we left, was another good gesture.
We had very good day out going to North Cyprus, the guide was very good with her information.
The only down side from our point of view it’s a bit out of the way from the harbour to walk to in the evening.

Submitted By: Mr I ThomsonActually he is one of the nicest people I have ever met in my life. He is such a genuine guy and all the staff, particularly the two Maria's are incredible. Nothing is a bother to them and you will never have been treated so nice in any Hotel before. No wonder they have all the awards from Thomson on the wall.
If you have booked here for summer you will not be disappointed. It's a great place. We met a couple who have been going there for 15 years. Top tips, it takes ten minutes to walk into Town. Ask Maria the way otherwise you will get lost.
Go to the end of the street, turn right and there’s a Marks and Spencer 1 mile away.
Don’t shop in the little shops near the Hotel. There is a huge Superstore in town and its half the price.
The King Jason is a clean, well managed, Hotel with great rooms and good food. Go and enjoy the hospitality because you wont get it any better than this.
Have a great time.

Submitted By: Miss D ToyThe food is very nice and I would highly recommend if you like Chinese to eat at the Palace you have to go up some stairs to it but it feels very posh and the people are excellent to tell you the truth we ate there 3 times it was that good. Also Grazie the Italian is very nice food and good value it is very good quality.
Andreas the Hotel manager is very friendly and helps you with any queries you may have. The weather overall was great but we did have two days of thunder storms and rain, but their is plenty to do there we went Go Karting/Mini Golf and bowling. It is slightly expensive over there more then in the UK but you get your moneys worth.
There is never a problem with getting a sun lounger at this time of the year (although the pool is very cold). The O Bar is very good and they have Karaoke on a Sunday Night and at the Moonlight Bar they also have Karaoke on a Friday Night. I wouldn’t recommend the Strictly Spectacular show the rep will offer you it’s about 27cyp equivalent to £30.00 English Pounds it is a lot of money for what you get. Overall we had a fab holiday I would deff go back again and stay at the King Jason.

Submitted By: Mrs C PenryWe had a gift on our arrival and also on departure which was a nice touch. Try the club sandwich - a meal in itself! It's about 15-20 minutes walk to the sea.
There is a lot of work going on in Paphos, some of the roads were being dug up and resurfaced. Visit the mosaics that have been uncovered close to the harbour - free on Sundays

Submitted By: Mrs J WilliamsAlthough the hotel is a little way from the sea, it is an excellent place to stay.
The staff, and in particular the manager, were outstanding. We have never been to a hotel before were the staff were in such close contact to the guest.
Nothing was too much trouble for them, the hotel had a lovely friendly feel about it, and I would definitely go again.

Yes there was kids club but no daytime activities around the pool, and there were no evening activities for the children to enjoy with the parents. Having two young children under 6 we found there was nothing to do which was quite boring for them.
The hotel is nice and is suitable for couples and retired people who enjoy the secluded tranquil setting.
The food served was good but the snack bar closed at 3pm and no food was available until 6.30, which was not very good for small children.
The restaurant is situated in the main reception and has a divider to separate but it makes it very cramped and imposing on those sitting in reception waiting for taxis and checking in/out.
Andreas and Maria were excellent at making you feel very welcome, as they were very friendly.
You really could do with a hire car, as it is a long walk in the 40 degree heat to the restaurants and shops each day.
The rooms are spacious but the air conditioning is very noisy at night keeping us awake quite a bit. The facilities in the apartments are good and the TV had sky sports 1, BBC news, and MGM (an old movie channel) again though no children’s TV.
The onsite supermarket was very expensive and a couple of times I heard people complaining about out of date English biscuits and prices being changed daily to almost double the ticket price on the day before.
The harbour is lovely and there is abundance of restaurants and bars to suit all.
I love Cyprus but wouldn't go back to King Jason.
