If you are after a bit of luxury then...

Jun 2005, Mr R Pelekanou

If you are after a bit of luxury then this hotel is not for you. It is certainly not 4 star. I would give it 2 as It’s quite shabby and needs modernising.
However, the positives are that it is reasonably clean, cheap and the staff are very friendly. We only had breakfast but there was a good selection of bread, cakes and fruit and those with a heartier appetite could enjoy an omelette or a fry up.
Our room was right by the pool where we were constantly subjected to the loud blasts of the stereo system. It made relaxing on our balcony impossible. However, when we asked to move to a different room, the staff responded efficiently and gave us a quiet room round the back and even lay flowers on our bed.
The hotel entertainment was generally a bit too intrusive, with the DJ pumping the volume full blast while people are trying to relax by the pool during the day. I guess he was just doing his job, but toning it down a little would contribute to a more relaxed atmosphere.
The reef beach near by offers good snorkelling, but check out Shark’s Bay - just £8 (English) return for fabulous snorkelling and a nice beach.
All in all, the hotel was friendly and sufficient, but next time I think we will pay a bit extra and opt for a little more luxury.

My first impressions were that the hotel was quite small and basic but the room was very clean and tidy and we were given fresh towels etc every day! There was also a good selection of food for breakfast, lunch and dinner and it was always very nice.
The entertainers: Sam, Oscar and Ahmed made our stay enjoyable, and all the staff were so friendly, so I would definitely go back here.
Scuba diving is a must...and the day trip on the boat to Ras Mohammed was fantastic and not very expensive. We were only there for a week so limited ourselves to two trips.
I would recommend this hotel to anyone who wants to visit Sharm, its very good value for money!!

Found out we were staying at the Cleopatra once we got to Sharm airport, very pleased as this looked the nicest of the named hotels, we were not disappointed.
We started the holiday on a b&b basis but for an extra £15pppd we went all inclusive, the food was great, drinks were in plentiful supply, try a 'sunny Sharm', very refreshing cocktail, be warned it packs a punch.
We had three rooms as there were six of us, each room was spotlessly cleaned on a daily basis by Mohamed and Tamer, who were friendly, smiled and said hello everyday.
The bar staff were also very friendly, serve you whilst you are sat beside the pool so you can be really lazy
A big hug and thank you to Oscar and Sam, hotel entertainment and DJ, kept my teenage sons well occupied and were up for laugh, a fantastic time had by all. Very hot!

Just returned from this hotel for 7 nights all-inclusive. We would recommend this hotel and plan to go back next Easter.
Hotel was very clean and staff were all very friendly and helpful. Food was very good and had a different theme night plenty of different drinks all included. Sam and Oscar the entertainers were very friendly and helpful they would come around and have a good chat and get you involved in all the entertainment very good people to know. Taxis were very cheap, only £8 return journey of 20 mins each way. Free shuttle bus into Narma bay very busy resort.
There were plenty of nearby bays to enjoy snorkelling and also plenty of arranged trips from hotel. All in all a fantastic holiday and stay at this holiday.

Nov 2004, Miss D Seymour

This hotel is fairly basic but is clean and the staff friendly. At the time it had only just been added to Thomson’s holidays and was very cheap.
The beach is a five minute walk and free to hotel residents. The snorkelling is good from this beach - you can swim right along the reef. There is also a free shuttle bus into Naama bay, though we never managed to catch it back as it never appeared at the times it should. Taxis are cheap though so not a problem.
The Thomson rep was very helpful and we went on a number of excursions - Mount Sinai (schedule in a rest day for afterwards, my calves have never ached so much!), Cairo and a Bedouin night. Mount Sinai is definitely worth it, as it the trip to Cairo (though the coach trip is very long).
I would recommend B&B as eating out is very cheap in Egypt, Naama bay has plenty of restaurants of all types.
Sharm-el-Sheikh is also worth a visit, less touristy than Naama bay.
There are some shops and food stalls within a ten minute walk of the hotel if you don’t want to go into the towns (head towards Sharm).
A great holiday, snorkelling is fantastic, there is also a dive centre at the hotel. I went on a try dive but to be honest didn’t see much more than I did snorkelling at the local beach or in Naama Bay (there is a public beach in the bay that is free to use, look for a narrow strip between the hotel beaches). The locals spend their whole time trying to get you into their shops but just keep walking and they will leave you alone. Never pay the first price offered - it will usually be 10 times the amount they expect to get for it, but if you enjoy haggling you can have a lot of fun!

This was a tremendous good value for money holiday. The bedroom is only basic but the rooms are clean and bed linen/towels changed regularly. The food is all cooked/baked on the premises and the staff were found to be obliging in every way. All in all a good restful holiday - just over the road and down to the Sharm Reef beach - the Red Sea Riviera awaits you!
