Just come back from Christantema Hotel, would not recommend to any family , my partner and two children spent two weeks here next to groups of Germany Lads out clubbing at night, woken up every night in the early hours, manager did speak to them, and it quitened down, however they then return home and it started all over any with another group, Food alright for first week, sick of the stuff the second week, ended up eating out, eating out is cheap but what is the point of going all inclusive, Rooms very clean, kids club not two bad, the Pool's are in a bad way tiles coming of the bottom and side of pools, kids constantly cutting toes on the pool. Would not recommend this hotel to anyone with kids.

Have just come back from this hotel and had a really good time, we went on the 6th June and it was cloudy for the first two days and we did have two thunder storms but other than that it was really hot in the 30's. We were a bit worried about the food because of other reviews but we didn't need to be, there was plenty to choose from..meats, potatoes, salads, spaghetti, pasta, bread, cakes etc. Breakfast was nice too..fried and scrambled egg, sausage, bacon, cereal, hot crusty rolls. The rooms were cleaned every day and the rest of the hotel and pool was clean. The staff were friendly enough although a few behind the bar were a bit miserable. The entertainment team were very friendly and spoke to us every day although the entertainment in the evenings wasn't great, there was a bingo night, karaoki for an hour and a magician act. There are alot of Germans in this hotel but this wasn't a problem, in fact we became good friends with them as they spoke good English and they even waved us off when we left. Sunny Beach itself is full up with market stalls selling fake designer clothes, sex shops and tattoo shops and its pretty much the same everywhere. This hotel is in a good location because there lots to do right out the front of the hotel but if you want it more lively the main strip is about a 5-10 minute walk. It's not as cheap as I thought it would be but still cheaper than Greece etc. Happy hour is everywhere! We did eat out twice, one meal was lovely but the other wasn't, recommend DJannys restaurant. I'm glad I went but wouldn't bother to go back to Bulgaria!

Me and my husband stayed at the Christantema on an All inclusive basis.
Thehotel was immaculate every time you turned round there was somebody cleaning something!!! Staff were very friendly and approachable.
The room was again immaculate and very modern.
Only drawback was the food. The hotel catered for German tourists and every meal was catered for them. Me and my husband struggled to find anything to eat. The food was also not labelled so a lot of the time you did not know what you were choosing to eat. By the 2nd day we gave up on the hotel food and started to use local restaurants.
The hotel had a lovely pool and bar area - although a bit on the small side for the size of the hotel.
Hotel was centrally located for bars and food although a bit of a long trek to the beach.

could not fault this hotel it had everything. good food, very clean, fantastic staff, great location and plenty to do. do not agree at all with the comments made by the people who were there in July 05. The people who went in June and August the same year did not have any problems i wonder if the July lot are all one group trying to get some money back. both the hotel and Sunny beach are well worth a visit. i am not easily pleased and my previous holidays were luxury cruises in the Caribbean so i was very wary of a landbased all incusive holiday but i need not have worried it was great. i will definitely visit again and will go to the same hotel.

For anyone thinking of going to this hotel I would stay clear. Me my partner and my daughter aged 2 stayed at this hotel for 2 weeks all inclusive... not great at all, they had limited drinks available and no soft drinks for the little ones on fizzy.
The food was disgusting, the breakfast would be a buffet style and the eggs would be not cooked and the food was never labelled as to what you were eating. They mainly cater for Germans so you will find frankfurters in almost every meal. Not a great variety we ended up eating out every night. Even finding somewhere to sit in the hotel was a nightmare at meal times..
Weather was not great had a lot of rain and it was freezing... but when the sun did come out it was very nice.
The hotel itself was clean and the cleaners were the lovely.

This is the most appalling hotel I have ever stayed in.
We went All Inclusive, but after trying the restaurant three times for lunch/dinner, we ended up having to eat elsewhere for the remainder of the two weeks. I have never been so pleased to see a McDonalds in my entire life. I even tried a kebab from a local vendor, and even that was more palatable.
The food in the restaurant was that bad, that when they opened up the snack bar in the afternoons for jacket potatoes (they advertised a lot more food, but it never materialised) they were mobbed. Sometimes you could queue for 40+ minutes.
The drinks are All Inclusive except for anything imported, which is a general standard for AI hotels. What they do not tell you until you arrive is that they import everything to this hotel, except the (watered down - you can drink it like lemonade) lager, and vodka.... So good luck if you want to drink anything else.
The overall cleanliness of the hotel was good - except the pool. Had I got children, there is no way I would have let them play in it. I'm not talking about leaves or bugs in the water, I am talking about the water itself - it was that cloudy with grime, most days you could not see the bottom of the pool.
The only way this hotel can have gained 4* status is the fact that they have a lot of facilities - unfortunately these facilities are either dilapidated, or just not able to cope with the amount of guests.
The pool being a prime example of this - we went during English "factory fortnight,” the most expensive two weeks of the year. Had we wanted to swim in the dirty pool during the day, we could not - it was standing room only.
The so-called evening entertainment was just not worth bothering with. We tried the bingo several times, but when the "entertainers" are using it purely to practise their German/Russian/English, it just gets boring.
As for Sunny Beach, it was scary. If you ventured out of the hotel after 11pm it just felt dangerous. The resort is used as an 18/30's or stag/hen destination. There are strip clubs on every corner, and unfortunately many Scandinavians that just cannot handle their drink. Combine that with the fact that you can quite easily purchase a flick knife or samurai sword at 1am, I'd rather go to Benidorm thanks. At least there you know what to expect.
The best part about the holiday was the weather, which couldn't be faulted, oh, and our departure day. As we dropped off our left over suntan lotion etc to the rep, we weren't surprised that she was surrounded by angry holiday makers, but we did laugh when we found out it was because the water supply for the whole of Sunny Beach had just been cut off...

When we arrived the hotel looked amazing. The Porters took our bags up to the room, which are also amazing, the rooms were clean and the bathrooms were brand new. Unfortunately that was the best bit of the holiday.
The entertainment was poor, there was virtually nothing to do during the day apart from stay by the bar (thank goodness it was all inclusive)! and there was not a lot going on in the evening apart from Bingo which took 2 hours. The weather was not that good, it rained for 5 days out of 14. So you where stuck in side, again with nothing to do.
The hotel staff were friendly enough but you did get plastic cups until you gave them a tip, this happened every day but they where great full for a couple of Lev (1 lev = 40p ish). We met some people that have gone back to the Chrisantema a couple of times but they had gone in the summer when it was warmer and the entertainment was on all day long.
Overall the holiday was ok, I would go back to Bulgaria again but I would go self catering as it is so cheep and also go in the summer when it hotter and not raining! Also beware of the Chicken, It is never cooked properly.

This hotel was basically for the German people, it was awful the staff from reception to bar were very rude.
There were a few elderly people in our party but the staff expected them to drink hot cups of tea out of thin plastic cups. The whole experience was literally a holiday from hell.
We spent a lot more than expected by having to go out to restaurants to eat as the food in the hotel was terrible. Not a holiday I would recommend to anyone.

Food was very poor. Had to eat out most of the time, as catered for German's and Israelis. The food was cold, the kids only got ice creams from 3-6 pm, staff in restaurant miserable.
The floor I requested was bottom floor as I have two kids one 6 and other 8, I was placed in the roof room, 8 floors up. Hotel was fantastic apart from that, it was a shame about the food really big let down, the adults could get alcoholic beverages during the day and the kids had to suffer.

Just got back 5:30 this morning, so I’ll do this before I hit the sack.
Chrisantema is a pretty good hotel where all staff are very friendly. The bar staff are top class, just put a couple of Lev in the tip box every 3rd or 4th visit to the bar and trust me they do remember you, even when you are waiting behind 2 or 3 Germans.
With the Germans you just have to play them at their own game, it works and it’s good fun. The food is fine but a bit repetitive, but you won’t go hungry or thirsty, and the sweet selection is ace.
If you fancy a change from the main dining room book into the chicken, pizza or fish eateries, top service and ace. The pool bar is the business, did an all-dayer there with my mate on vodka and coke, don’t remember a lot! The trips with the rep Chris are expensive but he does not peck your head to go on them, so it’s your own decision.
Khan’s tent is a highly recommended, top class trip. Off Road Adventure is the top one though, we went on it, 5 adults and 4 kids ,fantastic, but I do recommend you take your own food and water as the eatery we went to in the village on the trip gave about 40 people on the venture worst case off runs I have ever known , still suffering now and we went on it on Wednesday, it is now Saturday .
All in all though great place ,great holiday ,hope it helps people who read this.

Great hotel, food was great, service fantastic, rooms were cleaned every day this was a first class hotel.
Only minor faults were entertainment poor, but they all did their best and i am sure if more people had joined in it would have got everyone joining in. The pool was cold all day long but once you got your body temperature down to pool temperature it was great.
To Thomson British holiday makers it is classed as a family hotel but to Thomson Germans it is a club 18 /30 hotel, but everyone is just out to enjoy themselves, the only things the Germans didn’t want to do was to queue at the bars they think they can go straight to front.
This is a great place to go and I wouldn’t put anyone off going there, there are always plenty of sun beds spare if you look hard enough.

Me and my best friend went here last year for our summer get away. It was a really fun holiday! The pool staff that were in charge of the entertainment during the day were amazing! The funniest kindest people we've ever met and the entertainment isn't just for kids! there was water volley ball, salsa dancing, pool aerobics and even evening entertainment such as 'miss christantema hotel' and pub crawls! We were never bored! The only problem was the FOOD! This hotel served mainly German food and we decided we would at least try everything, but it was disgusting! We hardly ate for the rest of the holiday and we both had bad stomachs at some point. I definitely recommend this hotel for young groups of people and young couples because nightlife is great and free alcohol all day - even better! However only come here if youre not that bothered about the food!
