The hotel was very clean and the rooms well looked after by the great cleaning staff (often made your towels into animals shapes. The Restaurant waiters were fantastic especially when my two year old dropped food, very quick to clean up and take away your used plates. The pool area was clean and had plenty of sun beds and space to relax with many different pool areas for children including an indoor pool for when its windy (sea location some times quite a strong wind). The hotel provides a mini bus into town for approx 50p each way that is regular throughout the day (don't get a yellow taxi nearly £5), it is however only a 10-15 min walk.
Now the not so good, The food is below standard, very oily/greasy, with only pork and chicken the meat options in the dishes. The salad bar looks great but has a very continental feel and the same things every day. The main dishes seem varied but you soon relies that they seem to be on a 3 day cycle or just exchange the meat element to look more varied. The same pritty much goes for the places to eat in Ozbor. We had a two year old who was too young to go to the kids club and with only a slide and swing for two weeks it got a little bid hard to entertain him. The beech is so close but the sand is very course and the children did not seem too bothered to dig and play as it felt uncomfortable. If you do not want to go to the main bar/disco on a night the hotel does not offer much else to do, especial for family's, they did have 1 pool table but this was closed from 10pm as it was very close to rooms and with 9 spots and 7 stripes and a white ball that looked like a dog had chewed it (due to the fact that the cues did not have tips just the bare metal end???)it lost its appeal very soon. The TV in the room only had BBC world news in English, so if it was a rainy day a bit of TV was out of the question unless you could speak German or french as they had 3-4 channels each. This hotel could benefit from a dedicated entertainment room with games, TV's (with other English speaking channels) and a kids play gym for example. The reception manager has very rude, We inquired about our room on our last day due to having to vacate by noon and still having 14 hours before pick up for the airport, she turned her back on us and walked away half way through the conversation!!

Had a weeks holiday with my husband in the Miramar. Hotel clean and spacious. Room with seaview and pool view large and very clean. The only minus point here was having a shared balcony which we werent aware of on arrival.
The staff were very friendly, Room was cleaned and bed made each day.
Food was basic, but good with plenty of choice in a buffet style. It is all inclusive so snacks are on offer during the day, including ice cream.
The drinks are the usual for an all inclusive holiday,
Unfortunately there is nothing to do here as the Hotel is in the middle of nowhere. We went to Sunny Beach in a taxi which cost us 120 Lev return, just for a change and it was nice to get a few souvenirs, mostly the usual genuine fakes. We went to Sunny beach 5 years ago, so it was nice to see some old favourite haunts. There are buses every 15 minutes or so but are usually full and takes too long to get anywhere.
There is entertainment from the animation team, but this is geared more towards the Germans than the English. the kids of all nationalities seemed to enjoy themselves though.
We had thunder storms whilst there and there was some leaking in of rain water near the dining room and one lift outside but this was quickly dealt with by the staff, and didn,t cause any problems really.
All in all the hotel and staff were good. We would not go back to Obzor as it is too quiet for us. If and when they liven up the area as they have done with Sunny beach and Nessebar then we would reconsider.
We had night flights and paid 120 Lev to stay in the room until 10pm, our return coach was not due til 02.15 so we had a four hour wait in the lobby with nothing to do. We therefor lost out on a night at the start of the holiday and had to pay extra for a few hours in the room as it would have been unbearable to sit in the lobby from 12midday. This holiday may be better if there were decent day flights like the other countries provide.
- Advice: Hotel great, staff friendly, food ok nicely presentedf.Obzor too quiet, poor amenities.

Lets start by saying this is not a Riu,at the reception no one could speak english, you get frustrated trying to explain everything ten times so at the end you give in.the entertainment at night was very basic,if you can speak german you will be ok as everything is catered for them, dont expect any english tv its all in german, after saying this the food was good, the hotel inside and out was keep very clean.

Accomodation - We got a nice fairly large family room over looking the beach, even though we had been booked a part sea view room. Everything in the room was nice and clean. All rooms have showers only the most expensive suites have baths. The cleaners where really nice, one day we slept in and put a do not disturb sign up, they still left nice clean towels at the door. Some of the rooms on the ground floor smelt of damp.
Food - Always a good selection of bread, fruit and salads. The hot meals consisted of grilled and stewed meats or veggies. They also had a pizza and pasta section, my wife can't eat cheese and they did her a special pizza. Nothing too fancy. Everything was always cooked properly, especially the chicken. They also had a child section and ice cream was available most of the day with cones, and a good selection of sprinkles.
The staff were excellent and as soon as you had finished eating you plate was taken away. The bar staff were polite and efficent.
The entertainment staff where good during the day there where always sport events happening during the day. The kids club was good, my 8 year old daughter enjoyed
it. There was a kidz disco at night by the pool. And later they did a show at 9.30 in the stage room, it was ok, the children enjoyed it.
Its not be the ideal place for the average english person, as they have to cater for different nationalitys. So as long as you have a open mind and not too fussy about european food you should enjoy it.
- Advice: Obzor is nice bulgarian village.

this hotel is NOT a RUI as advertised and it does NOT have a launderette available but a very pricey laundry service. We had to do a round trip to Sunny Beach (about an hour away) just to launder our clothes - we're a family of four with a 15 month old baby and managed to hand wash most things!
The food is disgusting and cold - the meat dishes are greasy and the meat cuts used are obviously cheap cuts of meat. We picked the chicken one night for the baby and it was pink in the middle - most of the meat dishes were like this most nights. The breakfasts on the other hand, were fantastic although that's small compensation with a baby that needs feeding. The puddings were superb but generally the food quality was exceptionally poor considering this is a 4-star rating hotel. The food was more 2-star. We all had pizza, pasta or chips for most of the holiday - we could have eaten that at home if we wished!
However, the views are wonderful and the family room we stayed in was very spacious with plenty of room for us, a 12 year old and a travel cot for the baby and the shower was a very roomy, walk-in type - marvellous! The only downside is that the rooms DO NOT have tea and coffee making facilities in them, so pack a travel kettle and some proper tea bags!!
There is security around the hotel 24/7 and it felt very safe, a fantastic place for our 12 year old to roam without getting into mischief or us nagging constantly about their whereabouts.
The entertainment leaves a lot to be desired - it was mostly in German. It was advertised that this hotel is mainly English speaking, but this is not true - it is largely a German hotel with German and Russian visitors - there were about 50 English people during our stay.
Credit/debit cards are not widely used in Obzor although there are a few, limited places that accept them, but don't rely on it instead of using local currency.
The room size, the pools, the security and the location warrant the high rating, but the food is rubbish at best.
- Advice: a lovely, local town type, friendly place where poverty is evident but local people are lovely
- Activities: Day trips to Varna and Nessebar were well worth the money

Two years running we have been to this hotel. The staff are excellent, the food is good and the entertainment is the best we have ever came across. We are a couple 34 & 41 and the hotel caters for adults as well as children. It has fun games all day long for adults and children which is great fun. The beach is well maintained and has all different water sports. Although there is a mix of nationalities, everyone is very pleasant and uses the English lanuage to communicate. Well done Miramar.

Obzor (Or Oz-BORE as we liked to call it) was the worst holiday I have ever had. Couldn't fault the hotel rooms at all. They were kept spotless the whole time we were there and hotel staff were really friendly. The view from our hotel room was beautiful with mountains one side and the sea the other side. Food was alright. I've had better. Mostly catered for Germans though. Entertainment was dire and me and my boyfriend ended up in bed by 10pm every night. Sunny Beach was really nice but we ended up spending most of our money on taxi's to get there as 'Ozbore' was so boring. Don't bother with the local bus service either. I thought I was going to die as the bus (filled with at least 30 people) was overtaking cars on a blind corner. Shocking! Nothing to do and the tv was either German or Bulgarian. My advice would be not to bother unless your German and liked an extremely quiet and boring holiday. I would never go there again or advise anyone else to go there either. Absolutely dire.

Upon arriving at this hotel we were greeted by a young gentlemen at reception who spoke very little English. For the first time ever we had no assistance with our luggage to our rooms and had to carry our luggage up 3 flights of stairs, great first impression!!
At the welcome meeting on the first day the rep informed us that we needed to book our reservation for the al a carte resturante in advance so that evening we tried and was told that there were no tables available during the whole of our holiday. The food was okay, however it wasn't the warmest food I've ever had.
Thomson advertise this hotel to have a swim up bar which is not the case. The entertainment is not catered for the British. The internet cafe was removed on the 2nd day of our holiday which was totally inconvenient however the rep had no idea why!!
We had no english TV channels as the hotel had lost the link - this was a problem all week. The biggest insult is if you travel on the Cardiff Thomson flight which leaves Bulgaria at 6.15am on the Saturday morning your are kicked out of your room at 12.00 noon on the Friday (even though your pay for 7 nights accommodation, good old Thomson only provides you with 6 - Thanks Thomson). However your are not informed of this at time of booking, nor at the welcome meeting, when guests found this out by chance and queried it with the rep, she confirmed that she did not raise it at the Welcome meeting as she knew it would spoil our holiday and cause her problems!!!
However when she was made aware of the dissatisfaction her guests where experiencing neither her or the hotel management were interested- they even threatened an 80 year old lady who expressed that she would be staying in her room that they would have security to remove her from her room.
As you can imagine we will not be returning to this hotel and a letter of complaint is on it's way to Thomsons...........

I was in Obzor in this hotel 3 years ago. Everything was good. The hotel was amazing and tidy. The food was delicious and hot. The staff was helpful and nice. They could speak English and German. If we had a problem they helped immediately. I can recommend this hotel for everybody who want to travel to Bulgaria.
