Riu Miramar ClubHotel

Thomson admitted us to the Riu Miramar just over an hour after it had been evacuated due to a serious flood overnight on 2nd July (06).
We stayed there a week, with no option to move. There was mud and frogspawn in the pools and raw sewage in the grounds when we arrived. The water supply was very intermittent and off more than on for the whole week. Many guests (inevitably) had stomach problems. All of the ground floor furniture spent most of the week outside drying off, and all ground floor rooms were trashed.
The hotel, in fairness worked hard to try and put things right whilst we were there, but Thomson’s handled it badly, and their rep in resort resigned and returned to the UK after 2 days of us arriving, leaving only a trainee to assist. A VERY bad week.
Not a great deal to do in Obzor if you are looking for anything lively, but it's quite nice if you like it relaxed and quiet. The town is approx. a 15 minute walk, but there are no footpaths to get you there, so it's a hike down a dirt track.
Our issues apart, once the hotel is re-furbed and the pools are up and running, it is actually really nice, but I fear it will take a while to get rid of the river smells and clean it all thoroughly to the kind of standards that UK guests will expect.
