We stayed at Akti Beach for 2 weeks in August 07 for a family holiday, with 6 children of mixed ages. Kids loved it, adults had time to relax and enjoy the sunshine. Rooms were clean and adequate for what we needed and we'd definitely visit again. Location was good with a reliable taxi service into Pahos, although we didn't venture out too much!! The Elvis impersonator was also worth seeing :-)

I’ve been to this hotel before in may/June and thought it was great so we decided to go again in November. I went with my sister and mum.

We loved every minute of it the weather was great for November, some cloudy days though but that didn’t spoil it for us.

The food is great with a wide range of choices and the staff are friendly and look after you well couldn’t ask for better people.

The breakfast and dinner is fantastic with excellent service.

The rooms are clean with space and good views. The rooms are cleaned everyday apart from Sundays.

The night entertainment is brilliant with different things going on each night from Elvis Presley impersonators to magic shows and discos.

Great for young children.

Also the hotel is situated right on the coast so you have fantastic views to the sea and a nice little beach so you can have a swim.

I highly recommend this hotel the best one I’ve been to by far!

Heya, me and my mum and sister, all went to stop at Akti. We all really loved it . The meals were absolutely lovely. The breakfast's were gorgeous and the apartments were well spaced out with quite a lot of room to spare. The restaurant manager (George) was fantastic and really helpful. Sagedul (which was a waiter) was really nice as well.

We have all been to Akti before in the beginning of June 2007, and we liked it so much we just had to come back. The cleaners come into your room everyday apart from Sunday and clean your room out. They do such a great job.

The night entertainment was really good. Everyday they have a different act which were all really funny.

Anyway, I recommend that your should definitely go there Ellie ...xx

Spent a week at the Akti. The food was great. We also had a problem with ants, but as soon as we told reception it was sorted out.

The entertainment was good. Things going on all day. We all enjoyed the holiday, but could not have managed without the hire car, as it is a bit off the beaten track.

We would certainly recommend the Akti and will definitely go back.

We can only say that the Akti Apartment Resort was exactly what we wanted; excellent location with excellent facilities, 2 pools, grassed sunbed area, sea views, and very close rocky cove to swim in. Great walks along the front of newly built quality apartments with landscaped gardens.

We had studio apartment which was very clean, quiet with air-con upon request. Yes, the apartments are just off the main road which we walked via the dirt track to bus stop (10 min), caught regular bus (on time) to Paphos town for 80c.

Main restaurant food was very acceptable for the price £3.00 per head for breakfast, £8.00 for main evening meal, eat as much as you like. George, the owner and his staff were very pleasant and efficient. Great entertainment in the bar after dinner.

If you want peace and quiet and be fully relaxed without lager louts then Akti is for you! Try the Safari trip, Blue lagoon boat trip from Latchi, a day at Coral Bay beach and you will not be disappointed about nothing to do.

We have re-booked for early May 2008 and can’t wait.

My wife and I spent two weeks at the Akti Village in Paphos and would recommend it to anybody.

The rooms are spacious and clean. The maid service is consistent and well carried out. The staff are all very friendly and the service is very good.

We found the table service on the balcony overlooking the pool and in the large comfortable reception area to be particularly useful.

The real "extra" that you get at the Akti is the entertainment. There is a varied programme that is held every night in the Serina cocktail bar ranging from karaoke to quiz nights. The atmosphere is fabulous. Make a point of seeing the Elvis show.....it's great!

The entertainer at Akti is a guy called Adil and he is superb. His ability to remember names alone makes you feel like one of the family and his knack of getting people involved makes you enjoy the holiday so much more. Don't get me wrong you are in no way pressured to take part but if you sit out, within 5 minutes you are wishing you weren't because everybody is having such a great time.

Lara gets the aqua gym going everyday and "stretchy stretchy" is a gentle way to clear the head after the previous nights frivolities.

We were staying on a S/C basis and found this to be perfect. You have the option of upgrading on a daily basis to eat in the restaurant or you could just turn up at the pool bar which turns into a very comfortable restaurant every night. The supermarket on site is expensive but one trip to the local supermarket in town and you can stock up with all you will need.

There are plenty of cupboards and storage in the room for all the food and drink that you like. You pay for air conditioning in the room when you arrive. It’s around CYP£3 a day.....well worth it and if you factor it into the cost of your holiday it’s not the liberty that a lot of people seem to think it is.

There is a very walkable pathway up to the main road and you can walk to Paphos in around 15 to 20 mins. A cab fare to Paphos town centre is around cyp£6 and to the harbour around cyp£7. A shuttle bus would be a great investment for this hotel and I can see that being an idea that they will implement such is their desire to please.

There are plenty of sunbeds even at peak season....as long as you are up by 10am. The staff rearrange these every night so the pool area is always spotless every morning.

This is a very child friendly hotel, but it is spread out in such a way that you do not encounter as much of the "screaming kids" issue that can plague holidays.

Water polo takes place every day in the pool and I highly recommend it...it is a great laugh and to watch Adil "bend the rules" has to make you laugh!!

There is an excellent choice of restaurants in Paphos, bars, shops etc.

I truly cannot think of 1 reason not to recommend the Akti village hotel. We will be going back!!

Just spent a great two weeks at Akti Beach, Cyprus. Excellent facilities, pool and entertainment, the staff are very friendly and helpful.

Its not five star, but the rooms are comfortable and clean. The food is good but there are some excellent restaurants a short distance away. It’s a ten minute walk to the local bus even though it’s across a dusty track. Taxis are always an option. Great place for children.

No beach at the site but Coral Bay is 15mins away and a municipal beach 10 mins away.

Would definitely go back.

Fab holiday at the Akti Village.

The only downside is that the place is quite a way from anywhere and the shop is a bit expensive, otherwise we had a fantastic time.

The apartment was wonderful and was cool all by itself without the need to get the air-con - even in august!

Wonderful apartments and very well appointed and the maid service is excellent.

Owners and staff all very helpful and the reps were full of local knowledge.

Fat Mamas is a fab place to go eat and must recommend the tiger boats. Book this holiday here without any concerns.

Enjoy!

We must have caught the Akti cold, it was early in the season but it was awful! The room was like a cellar, damp and cold, the pools were freezing, both the indoor and outdoor. When we questioned the temperature the rep told us "we don't guarantee a certain temperature but they are heated”! We had to buy a heater control but the unit was so noisy it gave us headache.

The dining room ran out of food one night so we had to drive into town for something to eat. A car is essential, don't believe the reviews that say it's not far out, it's seven kilometres to Paphos and a similar distance to Coral bay.

We went under the impression the Akti was a hotel - it isn't! It's a maze of self contained units, badly lit, with some steep slippery paths and stairways.

We met one couple on their first visit to Cyprus, the Akti has put them off ever returning. We have visited many times, and will go back, but never to the Akti.

How it gets the name "beach" resort defies the trade descriptions act!

We have been to Paphos once before so we knew that we loved the resort, but it was our first time to Akti beach.

We just wanted a nice relaxing week away and that’s exactly what we got. The complex had great facilities and all the staff were really welcoming and friendly.

We had a self catering apartment which was lovely and spacious with a maid service every day except Wednesdays. I took some ant killer with me just in case after reading some of the other reviews but we didn't need it at all.

The only things that let the apartment down slightly were the bedroom which was a bit dusty, and the balcony which was a bit small. Yes it would have been nice to have free air conditioning, but we found that we both coped fine without it.

The food was great both at the pool bar and in the restaurant - though we only ate in the restaurant on our first night. Our first night was great, after eating in the restaurant we went up to the cocktail bar as Elvis was in the building! The Elvis impersonator was brilliant - and put on a great show. The cocktails weren't bad either :-)

We ventured into Paphos most nights as we like to try different restaurants. We re-visited Chloe's Chinese restaurant which we found last time we came to Paphos. The food, service, and atmosphere is excellent and we definitely recommend that you give it a try.

The only slight downside about Akti beach is its distance from the main town, but we didn’t let it spoil our holiday at all. There was a dirt track up to the main road, and though it was a bit steep and dusty it was no big deal really. It only took us five minutes to walk up to the top and the buses were really regular - just 80 cents per person.

After reading some of the other reviews I packed a small torch which really came in useful when trying to negotiate the track in the dark. I definitely recommend that you do the same as it gets very dark and the track it isn’t lit up at all.

Overall we loved out holiday and would definitely visit Paphos again. We would possibly visit Akti beach again, though we would look first at an apartment nearer the main town.

Just spent one week in one of Akti Beach Diamond villas and thought it was fantastic.

The villa was well equipped with pool, washing machine, dishwasher, microwave, oven, bbq and air-con in all rooms and we could use all the facilities at the hotel too.

It is a very peaceful and relaxing place to stay, but I have to agree with everyone in that it needs a bus service to come down to the hotel. We walked up to the main road nearly every day to catch the bus, but it is very busy and we occasionally had to wait for the next couple of buses because there was no room on them.

We went into town to eat mostly but went to the hotel on a couple of nights. The food was good and so was the entertainment.

My only complaint about the villa was that we had a small accident when some bread got stuck in the toaster and caught fire. It was sorted out easily but someone grabbed the fire blanket case off the wall just to be on the safe side to find that it was just an empty case with no blanket. We also wondered why the smoke alarm hadn't sounded and when we checked that out found it was just an empty plastic cover stuck to the wall. I think it would be better not to include these things rather than having a facade which give you a false sense of security.

My wife and I have just spent the first week of September at the Akti Beach. This was the first time we have been to Cyprus and I must say we had a great week!

We did read the reviews before we left and they were all pretty well accurate, certainly the comments about the AC and the locality of the complex.

We had a 'special' with Olympic holidays via Travel Zoo and it was very good value for money, we will definitely go back to Cyprus next year ( or even later this year if we can get a good deal)

Our own comments are:

- It would have been nice to have a welcome bottle of water and even a sachet of coffee in the room on arrival, as we arrived at the hotel late in the evening (around 12pm) hot and thirsty.

- You really can't do without an AC during the summer months. This should be made clear and even added onto the holiday price up front, rather than mess around after you check in.

- We wouldn't go half board again. The food was ok but was much of the same after a couple of days. Much better to go into town and eat as there are dozens of restaurants.

- We hired a car and would certainly do the same next time. It was easy to get around and it was good to get out of the hotel and explore the island a bit. Recommend a day in the Troodos mountains, much cooler, and the monastery is a 'must see'.

- Although we thought the bar was a bit smoky, and the decor could have been a bit more inviting, there was always entertainment available every night from the enthusiastic staff

- The Akti is a great and friendly introduction to Cyprus, and once you've settled in, arranged transport etc. it makes a good base to get around from. We can thoroughly recommend it!

We have stayed at the Akti 5 times. This year we stayed as a couple in June (a treat for my 40th) and again with our 2 children in August. You've probably guessed that we must like it and you'd be right.

The Hotel on the whole is very clean, yeah you get the insects (ants) but you have to expect that (it is a very hot climate). It’s a shame that air conditioning isn’t included in the price, especially July and August as you couldn’t be without it.

The pool area is great with plenty of sun beds and just a short walk over the grass you can access the beautiful warm, clear sea. The standard of the staff is excellent and we made many friends. Both entertainers were fantastic Adel and Lara. Lara is also fab although water gymnastics nearly killed me. The reason I'm saying this is that I don’t usually get involved with the activities so both entertainers must have been great.

Points I would change: I would like to see a bus service directly from the hotel, free air-conditioning and competitive shop prices.

All in all great holiday.

Myself, partner and 2 x children/young adults went to Akti village in July 07 to chill after our sons GCSE. We found the Akti to be both either chill or active.

The lads went to the action pool all day and we went to the chilled out pool.

The rooms was cleaned every day and the staff very friendly and accommodating.

The food we could not fault with 2 young picky adults there was always something they would eat, everyone was friendly and the staff put in every effort to make sure our stay was enjoyable and they succeeded.

We have never re-visited any of our holiday destinations before due to always saying we want to try somewhere different but we will definitely visit the Akti again, infact me and my partner are hoping to go back in Sept, it was great.

Me and my Boyfriend spent a week at Akti a few weeks ago. After reading reviews from other people, we were slightly sceptical of the resort, however our stay was almost flawless and we had a really good time.

The accommodation was fine, big and spacious with two single beds pushed together and basic kitchen appliances. We also had a lovely view over the swimming pool and sea from our balcony.

We invested in air conditioning after a very hot first night. It cost 5 Cypriot pounds a day for our room, which we hadn't initially anticipated having to spend but it defiantly made the room allot cooler and combatable.

The maid's cleaning was moderate but we didn't have any problems with it being dirty etc.

The swimming pool was great- lovely and big and plenty of sun beds to relax on. There was also a pool bar for drinks and entertainment such as water polo and water-gym. The entertainers were also very lively and enthusiastic.

We got a little bored spending time on the resort and went to the beach at Coral Bay a couple of times. It is a gorgeous beach, with a small cost for sun beds. It also has water activities and a DJ on the beach as well as golden sands and beautiful waters.

We ate at Akti once on barbeque night, which was nice. The food was of good standard and the waiters were friendly. However, we preferred eating out at Paphos Harbour and Coral Bay (which are short bus rides away for 80 cents each way). One particular restaurant we loved was Fat Mammas.

The food servings were huge and great value for money. Also there was entertainment, mainly dances from the staff- it was a lovely atmosphere there.

Taxis are constantly about so its easy to get one. They do over charge though but a one way was about 6 pounds on average. We found it easier to stick to buses, which ran until 11 ish.

We were disappointed that there was no beach, however Coral Bay isn't far away so it wasn't really a problem. Walking up the dirt track to the main roads with bus stops wasn't too bad either. Only about a 5 minute walk, however it was dark at night.

I would defiantly visit there again, for the price we got the holiday for it was well worth it. Had a really great week there, oh and make sure you go on a boat trip! We paid 19 Cypriot pounds each for a full day trip along the coast, well worth it!

We would suggest this resort to anyone looking for a peaceful holiday.
