Giardini Naxos is very much an Italian holiday resort, relatively undiscovered by British holidaymakers. Most visitors seem to be Italian families on holiday with a smattering of other Europeans. It has a relaxed atmosphere and some good restaurants (mostly Italian). The... more

Fabulous hotel. Room was excellent, facilities were first class and the staff were second to none. The buffet dinner was most enjoyable and every effort was made to make our stay enjoyable. It was so good that we are going back again. A shuttle bus was available to... more

Relax at the Caesar Palace
Just returned from a relaxing week at the Caesar Palace. The hotel is lovely - very clean with a delightful pool and friendly staff. The buffet was OK, although by no means varied. I would recommend that those staying half board switch their meals to breakfast and lunch and experience the local restaurants in Giardini Naxos at night (try the Garden along the main strip in Naxos for tasty fish dishes). As mentioned in the last review, the hotel is situated approximately 15 minutes walk away from the nearest resort, although the hotel do provide a shuttle bus which runs throughout the day. Overall, this is a nice hotel, although as a young couple I would suggest that it is perhaps more suited to the older generations.
Nice hotel, shame about the location
Just spent a week at Caesar Palace. It is a very nice hotel with lovely rooms and a gorgeous pool area. The buffet food is a good standard but nothing special. Very nice hotel if you want a relaxing holiday. However, the location lets it down. It is a good 15 minute walk to the nearest 'resort' where you can find the beach, bars and restaurants. Local amenities include a shoe shop, a supermarket and little else.
Good Basic Hotel
Just got back from 1 week at Caesar Palace Hotel with Thomsons. The hotel is fine; provide you accept that. at this time of year, it fills up every night with coach parties on 2 day trips around Taormina and Etna. Lots of interesting people form around the world. The rooms are large and well fitted out with spacious lounge and reception areas. The pool area is very good with lots of sun beds and empty most of the day because of the trips out. Food and drink around the pool is expensive and the best bet is to walk up the road, left out of the gates, to a little bar/pattisseraire which sells fresh local pasties etc to take way; aslo good cold beer! There is also a supermaket and large new hyper type market there with all the necessities. The buffett in the hotel is nothing to get excited about although you will not go hungry. Breakfast is the same everyday and they run out once all the trippers have departed; so go later rather than early. At night try to go early or late; ealry gets the best of the food! And use the micorwave to heat up your meal if necessary. The location is a bit dismal, semi indutrialised, but views from the rooms are good. Our room over the pool could be a bit noisy a night but the view was good. The hotel is a fair way from the beach but use the shuttle bus or walk down and taxi back although these are not cheap; about E15 for a 5 minute ride. If you can get a good deal with Thomsons or similar it is a lovely area to visit and much less crowded that Taormina. Hiring a car is worth while and you soon get used to the driving habits just like the M25 in the rush hour! We had a good time and would certainly go back to Sicily again if not this hotel and area.
One Etna of a stay
I could really copy and paste skatergirl's reveiw of this Hotel, as we agree with more or less everything in that revue.. Stangely enough, we stayed at the same time as the aformentioned skatergirl, agreeing with virtually everything she had to say. However, I would slightly disagree with her assessment of the food. Whilst the selection on any given night was extensive, we found that on a daily basis, the offerings were pretty much samey-samey. We did not let this put us off the stay, indeed, we have just booked a repeat stay at the sel-same hotel in May this year. We were not aware of the free drinks around the pol area, but this was because we hired a car and toured pretty extensively around the area ( which has very much to offer- Alcantara Gorge is well worth a visit, there are lots of mountain top villages to explore, Taormina is extremely beautiful, Etna is just staggering). We wholeheartedly agree with the general perception of the Hotel's cleanliness, it's facilities, the rooms etc. I would very much recommend a stay at this hotel.
Great Value
Recently returned from a one-week stay at Caesar Palace. Agree with most comments already made. Food is very good and quite varied but you need to be selective each evening and not have the lot in one go as many of the buffet iems are on each day. At breakfast the hot items such as scrambled egg, bacon, sausage can get rather cold by 8 a.m. so be sure to use the microwave provided to heat them up! The coffee machine continues to have a mind of its own and puts more water or milk in than needed. We found a good option was to have the cappucino and fill it up with an espresso - that way you get a good strong coffee. But these are rather minor niggles for a hotel that does much to please and is highly recommended if you do not want to be directly on the beach and are happy to use the regular shuttle the hotel provides. And despite some comments in brochures, the lido beach used (free for guests) IS sandy and not shingle. Do visit and you will not regret. Even Etna was having a minor eruption. We went on a trip to Agrigento & the roman villa but it was a 12hr day and mostly spent on the coach so probably too far to go.
NON PLUS ULTRA
We stayed at the Caesar Palace Hotel in Naxos-Giardini for two weeks , half board. The Hotel is just enchanting, perfectly clean breakfast is fr5om 7.15 till 10.00 Lunch is available ,there are also several option of snacks etc. The Swimming pool is clean and lots of beds and towels to relaxeby the Pool area. Dinner is served from 19.15till 21.30 <Buffet-Style> very generous and vaqried options are avalibleI.E.fish ,meat, vegetable ,Salads Puddings are just ecceptinal , plus various local fruits , grapes plums , figs, etc. The Retaurant Maitre, was very attentive and the rest of the staff followed his example, the Restaurant deserves A Micheline star. There is a complimetary afternoon tea served by the bar area, all very clean and effecient. In the evening from about 20.00 there is great music , played by the Pool by a local artist, with a good voice and very pleasant repertoir;Sicicilian songs , Italian, and English and American so that every one happy dancing and generally having good time and a drink or two served by a very friendly bar-man The hotel also provides a regular shuttle service to their own beach plus beds and umbrella all free of charge and that alone is a bonus!!!!
Good hotel shame about the food
The facilities are very good, excellent pool and good entertainment. The decore is good and kept clean. The daily maid service is thorough .The bar staff are friendly and helpful. This hotel is let down by a tired and uninspired food choice. The menu is repetative, dull and needs revamping. We have stayed in many Italian hotels and the food here falls well short of our experiences elsewhere. An attempt to serve international cuisine fails. Whilst much of the hotel is to be recommended do not expect too much from the restaurant. The dining area is like a canteen with little space between tables and you may need to queue between courses.
Lovely hotel
Just returned from a week in the Caesars palace in Giardini Naxos, and I can say the Hotel was faultless (although the bar bill was more than we expected). The staff were very friendly particularly the bar staff, the pool was superb and the food was great and a good choice every evening. Colin the organ player was fun too with his amazing selection of music. The town was a little less commercialised than we would of liked as there were not that many places to eat out in the evening, but the hotel caterers made up for that
Beautiful hotel, well deserving of 4*!!
We have just returned from a 2-week stay in Giardini Naxos Sicily, having been to a friend's wedding. The first week was spent in the Caesar Palace Hotel from 20th-27th May. The hotel is beautiful and the service was brilliant. The foyer is large and open with many different places to sit on sofas, a piano, fountain, bar, pool table and card tables and of course reception. The hotel room was a really good size (we had a family room with 2 single beds and a double bed), and a lovely bathroom. There was also a minibar in the room, with kettle and tea and coffee. When we arrived they had put fresh fruit, water and sparkling wine in the room to welcome us to the hotel. We also hired a safe for peace of mind. Loads of hanging space, although had to ask for more hangers! Everywhere was spotlessly clean, the people absolutely wonderful and nothing was too much trouble. The pool was beautifully clean, with steps the width of the pool going down. One of my daughters is 6 so she swam near the steps and had a great time. The rest of the pool is quite deep. The sunbeds around the pool were never full, with padded cushions, and free towels for use around the pool from behind the bar, leaving your own beach towels for the beach! Free tea, coffee and biscuits were served from the bar between 4-5pm every day, which was nice by the pool or inside if you were too hot! A free minibus to the beach collects you from the front of the hotel and drops you off outside the cafe at Lido di Naxos - if you show your room card from the hotel you get 2 sunbeds and an umbrella free!! We've never had extras like that before. The bus will then collect you from the same place. The cafe serves all sorts, pizza, sandwiches, cakes, a massive choice of ice-creams all very well priced - a coffee was E1.50 and a slice of pizza E1.40. The food was great - I was a bit worried by previous reviews, especially as I'm vegetarian, but the choice was great. Breakfast was cereal, croissants, bread rolls, cheeses and hams, fresh fruit, scrambled eggs, sausages, bacon, toast, fruit juice, water, sparkling wine, coffee, hot chocolate... the list goes on! Evening meals were good too, just help yourself to pasta which was lovely, and lots of different types each night. One of my daughters is a fairly fussy eater, but she had lots of different things (but no chicken nuggets to be seen thank goodness!), lots of different salads, cheeses, meat and veg, with fresh fruit, ice cream and various cakes for pudding. Something for everyone. There was someone playing music outside by the pool every night whilst you have a drink or 2, and one night there was a folk group - I think the entertainment is increased when you get into June, but we had a lovely time! We had a fabulous stay, and would highly recommend it to anyone!!
Great hotel
Have just returned from one week at this Hotel. Our initial impressions were very good- it is certainly a 4 star hotel. There is a lovely big pool, with plenty of sunbeds. Rooms are spacious with large baconies and, minibar and satellite TV. Food was fine but it did get very monotonous by the end of the week. You cannot pay for drinks etc with cash, it all has to be put on your room account so be careful, especailly because they charge you quite a lot for drinks at dinner. The beach is a 25 minute walk away but lovely. Sunbeds are free if you show your room card and there are regular and reliable shuttlebuses provided by the hotel to take you. We had 3 children with us, but nearly all the guests were older groups on various package tours. I would certaily recommend it.
