Hampton Inn Hotel JFK

For a short term stay close to JFK, I found this hotel more than acceptable and reasonablely priced. The rooms were clean and staff helpful although one should not be confuse it with a 4 star hotel. It is a solid 3 star establishment.

arrived in NYC after a long international flight from New Zealand. The hotel free shuttle service picked us up promptly and took us to the the hotel. The hotel was very busy with people waiting to check in. Room was good, room service fast and tasted good. Didn't get to try the free breakfast as left to early in the morning for a domestic flight. Booked the hotel using there own website.

I reserved and paid a twin room one week prior to my trip to New York. When I arrive the check in counter late night after a long driving from New Jersey, the Assistant Manager told me the hotel was over-booked and no rooms available. She tried calling other hotels nearby, but no rooms availble at other hotels at all. I kept waiting at the lobby for over 30 mins. Due to the good previous reviews, I booked the Hampton Inn via expedia (about one week prior to arrival). Room was guaranteed since I already paid with my credit card. When I arrived late night (competely tired after long distance flight), the reception told me that expedia would have overbooked the hotel. I haven't received any prior notice about that. After reading some scary reviews before biting the bullet, I found that the hotel provided the service you would expect. I called the hotel upon arrival at 12:15am on Jet Blue, to be picked up by the courtesy shuttle. The driver arrived about 10 minutes later. I was immediately checked in to my room without any delay. The next morning, I took the courtesy shuttle to the Air Bus at JFK which provides the transportation to the Jamaica Station where I caught the LIRR to Penn Station. The staff was great! I just completed a one night stay at the Hampton Inn JFK. It is an excellent lodging choice. I found the staff to be friendly and helpful. Room was clean with good amenities. Loved the shower! Large bathroom. Attractive/modern decor. The location was perfect for traveling to/from JFK. Free bus transportation to the airport was convenient. I highly recommend this hotel, and will stay there again in the future.

I stayed at theHampton Inn for one night, Feb 20, 2005. Six inches of snow was predicted so I wanted to be sure to make my early morning flight. I booked the Fly and Park rate which included up to 15 days of parking at the hotel, the room and continental breakfast. The rate was $199 and well worth it. I stayed at Hampton Inn near JFK recently. I am a gold member of Hilton. Usually this helps get me a nice room at a Hilton property. When I checked in, I was told that they only had smoking rooms available. I was told that my reservation did not request non smoking. The fact was that my reservation was made directly with Hampton Inn and the reservation indicated no smoking. We were stranded at JFK for 14 hours and JetBlue issued us a voucher for the Hampton Inn-JFK. We were delighted with the courteous overnight front desk manager, the comfort and cleanliness of our room, and breakfast which was included. The drivers of the shuttle van to and from the JFK AirTrain station were prompt and friendly, too. I would recommend this Hampton Inn to anyone who has reason to stay at JFK!

Stayed two nights in June. Above average airport hotel with big rooms, friendly and efficient staff and an overall fair value. Will come back.
