Los Zocos Aparthotel Reviews
" OK "
Submitted By: biggy74Pools very nice a little cold but by mid afternoon rather pleasant.
Food was ok but not always hot and after being under heatlamps could be very dry especially if you went for the carvery option.
Staff friendly and helpful good location for Costa Teguise centre and beach was 3 min walk away and was lovely.
Personally I wouldn't go back to Los Zocos as was too "BRIT ABROAD" if you get my meaning!!
Overall 7 out of 10.

" Fantastic! "
Submitted By: mythreegirlsWe were all inclusive also and because we went in June were able to eat dinner in the Boulevard as opposed to the dining room where breakfast and lunch was served. There was a great selection of foods and something different all the time. The staff were very friendly and there was always staff working around the hotel every day cleaning the pool, gardens etc.
I would certainly go back. The ONLY suggestion of improvement would be that if you did not want a drink in the entertainment room which can get rather loud, another quiet perhaps outside area/bar to enjoy a glass of wine would make this hotel excellent and great value for money.

Submitted By: db1Hotel is very clean, grounds and rooms are done daily. Show at night not the best, but daily activities has something for children and adults.
Pool clean and yes it can be cold at times, as some of you have said, but hey what pool isn't.
Location, about 1/4 mile from beech and main part of the resort.
Hotel staff helpful, reps are ok not too much hard sell on trips.
Would go here again.

Submitted By: Mr G MachenLike everyone else’s comments about the pool we agree, it was freezing.
This is not great when you want to spend time around the pool with the kids.
The food was ok with a good variety in both the standard (Mirrador) restaurant but the food although the same type seemed slightly better in the other restaurant (Boulevard)
The only drawback was that fact you had to queue up at 10:00 every day to get a place that night. This was very frustrating as often you go to the front of the queue to find it was full.
One tip always try and get into the boulevard restaurant without a booking, as people book but don’t turn up.
We were all inclusive and generally it was fine, apart from the pool bar. You have to queue up, sometime behind 20 or so people to only get 1 small beer. “One drink per person” was the chant.
In the evening they were a little more flexible in the main bar but again it could get very busy and could take 20 minutes to get a drink.
The staff were very friendly and always helped where they could.
The rooms were cleaned 5 days a week and they took care to notice we did not change back the sofa beds back to the sofas during the day. The kids were happy on them and it worked out very well.
Evening entertainment was a bit repetitive, once you’ve seen one reptile show you’ve seen them all. They tried hard but for two weeks, it did not work out for us, we ended up going out of the hotel. Which seem a bit silly considering we were all inclusive?
Resort:
Lovely resort ideal for families
One note of caution, when we went it was very windy, which took the edge of the sun/heat. When the clouds were out it actually felt quite cold.
If you just want to stay on the beach, you can find a secluded cove but these areas get very busy due to the winds.
Good selection of cafes restaurants nearby, especially on the bend overlooking the sea. Things generally seemed pretty cheap 1.5 Euros for large beer etc
We hired a car and looked at some of the other resorts around the island and we thought Costa Teguise was the nicest.
We ventured to a few bars; “legends” seemed to be one of the best for young children, as they had a solid climbing frame and bouncy castle.
There are lots of other very small bars that cater for different tastes.
Towards the other end of the resort (near BBVA bank) was a large children’s play frame in the shape of a pirate ship, our kids loved it and luckily there was a nice bar just outside!

" Loved It "
Submitted By: starlightuk2001I love this complex. And would recommend it.
The food is lovely. Didnt have a bad meal atall. And the meal times are very good also. Breakfast 6.30-11. Lunch 12-3. Dinner 6.30-9.30 which i thought was great extensive times. Also can get sandwiches 11am - 5pm and unlimited icecream. Also they have a place were you can book and eat every day of your stay if you wish which do carvery, pizza and chinese. Also very nice with cocktail bar.
Kids club is daily except thurs. Keep them entertained all day except 1 hour 1pm - 2pm - just be aware that the kids club door is left open, there is staff there to keep an eye on your kids and entertain them but they are keeping there eye on alot of kids and if you child is one that is liable of wondering off i would stay with them yourself.....
Entertainment every night.
Apartments very nice and modern. Was on ground floor and didnt see a single cockroach (some ants on balcony) Wasnt interupted by any noise by neighbours either.
They cleaned 5 times a week and they do a ok job - only thing is they dont sweep before they mop, nor do you get a sweeping brush in your apartment so you cant even do it yourself and you know what sands like....it gets everywere.
Downfall you have to pay for the tv. £24 for the week
The area is nice. Quite Quiet but has got everything you will need. Lots of shops, bars and eating places. Some of the beaches are a bit rocky when tide is out but we found a couple of really nice beaches.
travelled with first choice. the rep was great and very friendly
drinks like any all inclusive - beware of the pool bar staff.....the full time lady cant crack a smile......unless you are a male who pretends to flirt with her :)
the pools have life guards but one of the pools was manned by a life guard who did nothing but walk around the complex not doing what she should be doing.
All in all was a excellent holiday and a excellent complex and we are planning on going back in september :)

Submitted By: dunnsswimming pool cold but that may have been cause its march, and sign saying no reserving beds and pools dont open will 10am.
Pool bar - 'unlimited snacks' - NOT - all you get is a tuna, ham or cheese sandwich which you must eat inside. you are not allowed to take round the pool, eat outside the pool bar or take back to your rooms. they told us it was to limit infestation of ants, cocrotches etc however icecream can be eaten anywhere and you are allowed to buy from the shop your own food to also eat anywhere.
the other fault i have is childrens discos can get busy and in the room are large open doors which open onto the street with a busy road, it would be very easy for a child to easily walk out.
also when asked to pay for and keep our ground floor room as we were not departing till late. and were told we could keep the 1st floor but not any of our ground floors - no help to us, with three pushchairs and 1 pregnant mum - i thought this was out of order.
also remember all to get E111 cards my friend din't have one and had to pay 50 euro just to be told her daughter had a viral infection and on return home a day later she went to our doctors and has tonsillitus.

" Don't take any notice.... "
Submitted By: jamiebellOn our first visit we were allocated block 3, which was a fair sized room with a small balcony. Everything you could need was there and the rooms were dated but tidy and clean.
On our subsequent visits we have always requested block 1, as they have recently been refurbished and are of a high standard and overlook the main pool. We were worried at first that the noise from the bar would disturb us (having 2 children in each family) but no noise has ever been noted!!
The facilities are second to none, and I agree the pool is quite nippy however once you've been in a few minutes you hardly notice (and the cool-down is sometimes quite a treat)!!
On our last visit my son got sunstoke quiet badly and couldn't leave the apartment for 4 days, the reception staff offered to get a doctor for us, and the cleaning staff (after visiting one morning to clean the room and found out he was poorly) brought him some pencils, colouring books and a little game to keep him occupied - and I'm sure that isn't in their job description!!!
The food can be a bit repetative, but there is a huge choice so no real need to double up on anything - unless you want to.
I would highly recommend the Los Zocos to any family, cats don't bother you if you ignore them, and the entertainment team are great for keeping the little cherubs occupied so you are left to lie by the pool and relax....
HAVE FUN!!!
Advice: Breezy but good to cool you down in the heat
Activities: Trip up Timanfaya and the Teguise Market on Sunday is not to be missed.

" worst place ever stayed in "
Submitted By: kcloHi
Having recently returned from a 9 day stay at Los Zocos i would like to make some comments as we did not receive a comment card.
firstly, the photos on your web site should be updatd. It claerly shows in the bathroom a hairdryer on the wall but these are not supplied.
On arrival the gentleman on reception was pleasant and checked us in quite quick. i thought that having to go behind reception to get our photos taken a little strange especially as the room was quite small and full of staff. The cards for all inclusive were nice but not convenient as we had to carry them around all the time, a wridt band would have been better.
our rom was where we had requested which i am very greatful for but am astounded that in this day and age in a recently refurbished hotel there was no airconditioning and a fan had to be hired, this should have been included in the all inclusive package as should the television hire. i was quite annoyed by this. We had two rooms, one for my parents, and my husband mistakingly gave their room number at reception when paying for the tv and when he went to chage the lady on reception was quite rude. it was a genuine mistake.
we had requedt a cot in our room as we had a young baby with us, none provided but when i saw the condition of them i would have refused them anyway. a plastic matress for a baby is almost lethal.
the bathroom was ok - the toilet was stinking, i coudnt believe the smell out of it. also for a family of 4 there was insufficient toilet paper.
there were ants on the kithcn sink.
a cat walked in to the room one day.
cats were a big problem, epecially at reception. at times there was nowhere to sit, my husband and children are asthmatic, cats should not be allowed on the seats etc.
the toilets at reception were the worst i have ever experienced, you should be ashamed of yourselve.
the aquamarina bar was appaling, old, dated and smelly.
the restaurant was ok, the staff quite rude the night we arrived. the food was ok.
the women in the poolside bar were fab
the poolside bar was to have afternoon tea wth bisucuits and cakes daily, there were only lemon puff biscuitsm very disapponting.
the boulevard restaurant was fine but the furniture disgraceful, most chairs were broken. the chinese in here was fab.
t he pool was dirty most days. the lifeguard couldnt be bothered just lazed about oogling girls. he did walk around eventually about 7 days in to holidays.
the poolside beds were awful, broken and uncomfortable.
on check out NO ONE asked us how our stay was, VERY RUDE.
we will NOT return to los zocos and will not recommend this place to anyone and these comments will be uploaded to trip advisor web sites.
i await your comments

The down side was you had to pay for the TV, you didnt get a good pic. Also you had to pay for the air con. Apart from that we had a good holiday, would defo go back.
Advice: We loved Costa Teguise

" Don't listen to all the mouners who go on about how this is not a nice place!!! "
Submitted By: nicholaOut of 10 days we had 2 overcast days, other than that the weather was lovely, pools are freezing but what do you expect, its NOVEMBER. We went to the beach everyday as the sea was lovely once you were in it, waves are really good aswell.
We tried the boulavrd restaurant on the complex twice, was really nice, all you can eat and much to choose from, i would'nt go all inclusive as i like something different every night and like to venture out.
Staff are friendly and the animation team are amazing, i miss them already my 5 yr old and 1 yr old loved the mini disco and kids club, especially Selina and Mariana! All of them are lovely though.
We found a restaurant can't remember what it was called just past the beach, went there 3 times as it was so nice and the waiters were ace, thats what kept is going back, and the food of course.
Also try Popeyes bar, we had breakfast there a few mornings, and they play alot of the sports there, my partner persuaded the owner to put the City v Arsnel game on so he could watch it.
Overall we had a really good time, my sister and partner are still there with there kids as they had booked for 2 weeks, would defo reccommend it to friends, especailly if they have little ones, as its more for familys, we met some lovely people there.
Went to the waterpark, and when i say we were the only ones there, we were the only ones there, yes the water was cold as they are not heated, but once you get down that 1st slide its not that bad, worth a visit though, just make sure you ask if the restaurant is open, because it was so quiet they only had a little shop open which sold the most discusting sandwiches ever so we went hungry until will got home!!
Advice: lovely place, quiet for familys, loads of restaurants if you venture out
Activities: can't remember what the restaurant was called

Submitted By: parenthomesAccomadation-Room 1215, new block, pool view, washing line, black out curtains, although compact it was extremely clean, excellent kitchen facilities, microwave, power shower, lovely balcony and safe but no air con-which we did not need in October.
Staff, overall were excellent, extremely friendly and courteous. A couple of unfriendly staff, one of them being english! Had a dodgy stuck door which we reported and was fixed very quickly. The maids even tidied away our messy bits in the bathroom and kitchen which was really sweet.
Service, very good in all areas but could see it being a problem in some areas if high season as not all self service and we had to queue a couple times at the pool bar.....they need more staff.
Facilities-excellent value for money, kids park, crazy golf, tennis courts, 6 big CLEAN swimming pools, kids club.....they were cold as stated but we just got on with it. A bit too cold for our 2 year old though as not shallow enough. We had no worries about queueing for sun beds in October and these are un-locked at 10am
Location-good base for all trips and right near water park. Not much air craft noise even though right near airport which was great. Local area was clean and felt safe. Good choice of food if eating out. Try the waterfront(to the right of the main beach round the coast line, which was english run, great omlettes, burgers, Jack Daniels ribs, Guiness,,,.....
Beaches-they were fantastic, clean and great views. Every one had a foot wash which was really handy for our fussy 8 year old. Be carefull of the current it can get a bit rough.....although we did not experience any strong winds.
Weather-great not too hot but warm enough of evening to walk around. Could get burnt though if not careful.
Entertainment-Kids entertainment was fantastic, our 8 year old played water polo, dodgeball, pool, the Animation Team were really good at getting all the kids making friends. The evening kids dicos were great our 2 year old who loved the songs and our 8 year old even got dressed up as a clown with the staff.
Adult entertainment was ok some good shows like grease and robby williams.
1 COCKROACHE SIGHTING but not like a previous review made out....maybe if your self catering and not carefull about tidyness you may encourage the creepy crawlies......
Drinks, very good for all inclusive, whisky, beer, gin, vodka, martini, cocktails, be careful the measures are huge!!!! We queued before it shut at 11pm for all inclusive so we had a drink to take it back to our balcony.
Food, good value for money could see why it would get boring after week. Could be hotter but we managed. Would recommend you queue in reception for 9.30 am to get in the El Boulevard which is attached outside the hotel and there are only 100 spaces for the hotel customers who are all inclusive. They take bookings at 10am for the same night and you need to queue in front of the little table next to the pool tables in reception (not at reception desk). Dont be fooled by the short queue as some people are booking for more than one family which seemed a bit unfair. The food in the el boulevard was really nice-good roasts, chinese and pizza.
Overall we would definately reccommend the hotel and resort as we had a great time. Only negatives are possible queues in high season, lack air con in high season and hotter food. We also had to wait until we could get in the the Aqua Marina Bar for a drink which did not open until 8pm could have been a little earlier. Think the all incusive could have finished a little later also. We checked out H10 Lanzarote Gardens (which we booked before XL went bust) and that looked nice although I thought the pool area did not look as good as the brochure pics-but it did have sloping pool for little ones. Sand Beach resort also looked good and friend we met reccommended it.
" Just returned from a 2 week holiday... "
Submitted By: Mrs C VellaI have no complaints whatsoever.
The Firstchoice kids club was fantastic, as were the Animation Team.
Why people bother to complain about pools being cold and food being repetitive is beyond me.
I don't know what you guys eat at home but we found the choice of food good. There was usually 4 different meat dishes, fish, and plenty of vegetarian options, the choice of salad and cooked meats and fish at every meal. There was fresh fruit, juice, yogurt, ice creams, cakes galore, hot puds etc, yadda yadda yadda. I think some people just like to find fault.
Oh...it was a bit windy one day and the sun loungers could have been cleaner, and once when I spoke to the receptionist she didn't smile.
I did notice a marked increase in the number of holiday makers with bad tattoos, baseball caps, and dodgy accents as the holiday went on.

We stayed all inclusive, and i really must stress that i found the meals very filling with plenty of variety.
I had read that the swimming pools were very cold, and i must admit yes they were, although i found them very refreshing after lying on the sunbed for a while.
We did not utilise the evening entertainment on site, as we found the night time the best part of the day to browse the local shops nearby, neither did we use the other facilities available at the resort.(table tennis, tennis court, crazy golf, and more)
The staff were very friendly and helpful, and the cleanliness of the resort was second to none, i would most definately recommend this resort to people, so much so that i am hoping to return early in the new year.
Advice: Plenty of bars, shop in walking distance
Activities: Browsing around night market
